Ethan Winters in final cutscene - unseen in game (Resident Evil Village)

Just a quick video I made to show the redundant use of Ethan Winters' character model in the final cutscene of Resident Evil Village. I know this has already been discovered and talked about elsewhere, but I wanted to try out some camera positions in addition to the cutscene's default view as the car containing Rose Winters drives off into the distance.
What are your thoughts on the use of Ethan's character model at this specific point in the cutscene? Why did the developers go to the effort of making him walk? What purpose was this appearance going to serve? It's interesting.

It’s possible this last cutscene was planned and animated early on while development continued with the rest of the game and its story, and then this moment was scrapped if they decided to keep it as Ethan being dead. The final text that appears seems to suggest this: “The father’s story is now done”.
But we also know that Eveline was appearing to Ethan because of the stored memories of the mould and how it connects and finds people. Hmmm…
So if Rose will be our playable character in RE9, as people have been speculating, maybe Ethan could be guiding her in some way? Like helping her to stay on the side of good.
Another possibility that I was thinking about: If this this WAS originally going to be Rose seeing a vision of her father, the developers could have felt this was a bit cheesy. 🤔
