From last patch (before free units). I'm a bit stuck travelling for now, so more recent gameplay coming next week (possibly trying stormgate as well)! Check out @hawkinspace. Crazy oil plays by him. I was a bit bummed because I lost the game because of it but very impressive play with the beacon + oil :D

Very nice. I think the second game showcased the issue with the warfactory being OP since the more interesting option (lvl3 mustangs) weren't worth it. It was almost the perfect counter but still not as good.

I’ve been thinking about the chaotic fun unit packs; and how I’d personally change them is that I would like to see them brought in line with what you could buy that round.
That means the largest number of units you could get for free is 4x level 2 units - limited by a percentage of the normal max credit value for a given round.
So like round 3 you might be offered 4x level 2 fang, 3x level one Sledgehammers, 4x level 2 arclites, and 2x level 2 Phoenix - each worth 600 credits.
This way you’re never dealing with getting a level 7 rhino or something silly that your opponent couldn’t deploy on their own.
Ideally the units available in each pack would be labeled as mercenaries, unable to benefit from technology upgrades. Heck, maybe some of the unit packs even bring their own technology - only available to the mercenary units. That would allow for more packs of units later into the game. Maybe your choice is now 3x melters vs 4x fang with ignite or something.
I would also like the units to be grouped in such a way that each unit in the four had a counter. In my above example; fang beats Phoenix, Phoenix beats sledge, sledge beats arclites, and arclites beat fang. Mostly, I know sledge beats arclites too and so do Phoenix but I can’t help that my lil buddies don’t do all that well. Anyway, make it so that if you know what your opponent is likely to pick then you can counter pick them, or counter build them.
Just a few thoughts; hope you’re enjoying your time away Rat.

That is literally how it currently works, the units you get on the free unit rounds are worth the same as the money you get that round.
