I’ve been telling my girlfriend since I’ve been seeing all these Disney remakes. If Nickelodeon doesn’t take advantage of the anniversary of their biggiest show of all time it’d be such a waste. For the scene where their tears connect into a heart it’d be the greatest scene to be in theaters for.

@@kennethdavy4051 That is correct, Stephen has gone on record saying that it was fully intended to be the finale, as the crew felt the show had peaked and they were running low on unique episode ideas by the end of Season 3. THATS WHAT I JUST CAME HERE TO COMMENT((like literally word for word)) IM CONVINCED WE SHARE A BRAIN LOL😂
Best thing is steven knew he absolutely killed this movie. You dont make something this good by accident.
And that’s why he intended for it to be an epic finale 😎
To know that this movie is now 20 years old this year is crazy.
and that means season 4 is gonna be 20 too
It’s wild that I’m only one year older than the movie.

Visually it still looks incredible
Okay, now I REALLY hope that Nickelodeon officially rereleases The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in theaters to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
I can’t tell if this is a joke or not because the 20th anniversary has already happened in 2019

I am not kidding, Hillenburg era Spongebob to this day is still comedy gold, just truly something to behold. Among The Simpsons as a titan of TV animation. IN MY OPINION
Agreed, SB is basically The Simpsons of children’s television. I’m yet to see another show match the layered joke pacing of those two
Stephen hillenburg was an absolute genius! SpongeBob from 1999-2004 there’s a strong reason it’s still viewed so much today.
If I’m not mistaken he did intend for it to end after this film.
And it really does feel like a conclusion, he did it all, hero’s journey, came to accept himself and achieved his dream, managing the Krusty Krab.
Shoot even squidward being friendly with him at the end🤣
Perfect end 🤣
@@kennethdavy4051 That is correct, Stephen has gone on record saying that it was fully intended to be the finale, as the crew felt the show had peaked and they were running low on unique episode ideas by the end of Season 3. He didn’t want SpongeBob to overstay his welcome to the point where people wanted it off the air (this was a direct point from him). When Nickelodeon decided to continue production with or without his involvement he was actually surprised.
