Why do I like keltec? Because they create inventions - successful or not, but they are incredibly creative... When other companies slap a 1911 clone or a Glock clone as if nothing else could be invented... This gun is not bad, but the price of 5.7 ammo will suffocate it.
They should mag different size mag limiters for it. In VT and in some other states, a pistol can have 15rds. A 15rd limiter should be pretty easy to produce.
I am going to wait a little to see reviews on this pistol. After I get out of New York because New York sucks then I will see if this is the right pistol for me.
This is what happens when the business and design team smoked a joint while designing this. Or it was a rich CEO with a M1912 that though "what if I put the world's most expensive round in this gun and make it go pew?"
Love me some Keltec. Imo, being able to feed with stripper clips isn't that outdated either. This pistol is obviously limited for a reason, but stripper clips have a lot of positives, even in a modern military scenario. As long as they aren't the ONLY way to reload the weapon (talking about military grade rifles).
@@FoulPet I don't think any pistol or firearm should ONLY be capable of using stripper clips. -Whilst stripper clips are slower to load, something cool about them, compared to magazines, is that they don't take up as much space on your person. -For example, I can easily carry 3 boxes of 10x5, stripper clip 5.56, in a small pouch on my person, which amounts to 150 rounds, almost a full combat load. -If all of your magazines have run dry, you now have to slowly insert rounds into your magazines, unless you have a speedloader, but then you need to get that out of your equipment, and it might get lost or even break. -But if your weapon has a stripper clip feed system built in, similar to the M14 for example, then you can quickly load a magazine without even removing it from your rifle. In my military experience, we always carry extra "loose" rounds, which usually come in stripper clips of 10 rounds, in a box of 50 (like mentioned earlier). A rifle that can feed stripper clips directly into the gun, is just a plus. Stripper clips might seem like an outdated WW2 thing, but they had their benefits back then and they still do. Just don't fully replace them with magazines, which is unfortunately what KelTec has done here, but they aren't making a military pistol, so whatever.
@sainterasmus4545 for a rifle, they are probably fine, but if they were that much of an advantage, they wouldn't have been abandoned. Also, your sidearm is there if your rifle fails. "Most" people aren't going to carry a backup if their EDC fails. I'm not military, but if you are aware of any major modern force using clips today, I'd be interested in what platforms and why.
@FoulPet I don't know how I can make it anymore clear: I am NOT advocating for stripper clips to replace magazines, that would be very unwise. I'm simply pointing out that they have their uses. And yes, they wouldn't be good for most pistols, that's why I was only talking about rifles. Although, the idea of sidearm that is ONLY used in emergencies, being stripper clip fed only, wouldn't be ao bad, if you want it to be small and aren't expecting to get much use out of it. In the military, we say that if you have to swap to your pistol, you're having a really bad day.
@sainterasmus4545 worse day if your sidearm fails. Even worse if you can't clear a malfunction. If you're not advocating the use of this as a primary EDC, why are we here? The vid from Nightwood sums up my opinion of this design.
I agree with you but at the same time as a dedicated carry piece, 21 rounds is nothing to sneeze at. People have carried firearms with far less capacity successfully and nearly all data shows that very few altercations require a reload.
I've never liked Keltec, but damnit I want this!

Keltec should invest in 5.7 ammo production for the industry.
That and it doesn't take mags
When can we expect the 15 round compact version ?
How do you clear a jam/ stoppage
Hammer
This is the first video I've found to address unloading the mag. Now I'll find a ton of them.

I want to see this rapid fired and jam cleared.
Im getting this
Keltec, when the gun shop is all out of pointy sticks and sling shots
😂

He had me at "drop the plate"
Lost me at clip
The airsoft part is pretty cool. They should have an internal mag one like the pr, a handle holds a lot of bb's lol.
Why do i want this...
You weren't raised correctly
This guy knows his stuff. Plenty of jailhouse tats to prove it.
Wow, that strimmer pistol is tiny! That's a lot of rounds in a small space. 5.7 is impressive like that

can it load into the grip
Internal mag in the grip and you can load one at a time if you want
Someone stole it apparently 😂

Now everyone wants a clafornia compliant pistol? Can't make this up, hilarious.
Next up on forgotten weapons kel-tecs Fup 🤦
Did I hear that correctly, did he say no safety, well, shit 🤨
Don’t think I’d trust my life with this design

What is a significant advantage that a clip fed pistol has over one with a mag other than state imposed loopholes.

you ain't winning any fast reload contest with that thing

@MrDmthomp32 you're right about that brother
It’s super light…carry 2 of them 😂
Practice makes perfect. If the slide locks back, and you have a stripper in an easy access spot - I dont see why it wouldnt be just as quick.
@@Raymo2uI'd like to see a video of someone clearing a malfunction
