Will someone make this woman sing Micaela or Pamina? Of course she won't. Those aren't the leading roles or prima donnas. She just wants the popular arias, she just wants to be famous. She wants to touch the ears of those who don't know the difference between a role and another. It is very sad.
I think she did a better job singing this as a youngster in San Francisco around 2002?? with Hrostovsky and von Stade. I was so stunned I went for a 2nd show! terrific don Giovanni by all the musicians. I love her. I am not alone.
I agree, I think her voice is too big for this part. Her 'Quando m'en vo' is beautiful but this just sounds lumpy and I can't hear a word she's saying!

She does an ok piano where she has to, don't know if she has a pianissimo. Her instrument is magnificent, though! I didn't like that little cadenza she improvised in at the end of the 2nd verse.
Ridiculous! The 'definitive' version could probably be the one that Mozart actually conducted, don't you think? The definitive version recorded should be one on period pitch and by a true soubrette. I would like to know the names of your called critics and musicians (as if you were one). To think that this is the definitive version (which I casually found and uploaded to RUclips) is just a stupid (excuse me) idea.
@tonchik101 What you say is definetely not always true. People don't dislike her because of jealousy. It's just that some have spent many years studying music and don't apperciate mediocre people passing for divas. Anyone with even a tiny knowledge about music and operatic singing can see that she is far from good. Hope I din't offend anyhow. :)
this aria is not suited for Netrebko ! grand rich voice and alot of ornaments, it seems like she is trying to show off her voice capabilities without noticing what the aria is about.
