This is one of those very, very, very, very rare songs I could 'easily' listen to on a constant loop for the rest of my life. It's like every time I hear it it feels like the first time, how do they do that?I'll never understand it.
This was by far my favorite Roxy Music Album "Flesh and Blood" All the songs on the album are strong and it was a great cross from the earlier Roxy Sound to the Elegant RockSound of Avalon
La grande classe,Roxy Music un groupe à part, tout en finesse et harmonie, guitares aériennes et basse fulgurante!Et Bryan Ferry,sa voix, quelle prestance!
Gary Tibbs is really getting into this you can see he Is just having the best time ever . Of course the mn responsible for the actual recording as Alan Spenner who was an incredible session player, sadly no longer with us.
Nothings last forever Of that I'm sure Now you've made an offer I'll take some more Young loving may be Oh so mean Will I still survive The same old scene' In our lighter moments precious few It's all that heavy weather We're going through When I turn the corner I can't believe It's still the same old movie That's haunting me Young loving may be Oh so mean Trying to revive The same old scene Young loving may be So extreme Maybe we should try The same old scene
If you listened to Roxy, it was very far from a wasted youth. Just think, you could have been sniffing glue, doing heroin, or listening to Huey Lewis. There but for the grace of god, goes you.
Anyone else notice the keyboard players mike drop @ 2:07 Funny enough every video since that performance, the sax player became the keyboard player Interesting ;)
I think that may have been the closest thing to a true live performance shown in this video ;-) (Nothing against the awesome song or musicians, though; I know it's just how those things work.)
DCI Gene Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes @BritBoxUK @BBC these kinds of projects & TV series - very intelligent well produced! Makes me proud to be a descendent of the Plantagenets🦁🦁🦁❤️😁
One of the best voice in the world of rock. The bass line is a jewel.

I know what you mean!! It is so addictive!!
The processing of emotion into music - how's it done???
Omgees …this is exactly how I feel!!!!
Me too! I feel the same way!
Timeless
Probably my favourite Roxy Music song of all
Nothing like it. Before or since. Never will be. Magic.
Great in Ashes to Ashes. Superb polished stylish number. Glad to see I’m not alone in being able to listen to this on repeat.
Honestly this band were light years ahead of the pack vastly undervalued, big influence on chic as well.
This was by far my favorite Roxy Music Album "Flesh and Blood" All the songs on the album are strong and it was a great cross from the earlier Roxy Sound to the Elegant RockSound of Avalon
I never tire of this song. Best bass lines ever. Alan Spenner was responsible for them. He died in 1991. The bloke in this video is Gary Tibbs.
+trapezoid Played a cover of this in a band in '85. Still my favourite bass line.
Spenner inspired me as a bassist. I was never as good, but ...
Gary Tibbs....as in Adam and the Ants Gary Tibbs? Wow never knew that. But such a great bass line!
Used to listen to it in school... Still sounds AWESOME..... what a LEGEND
2018 still the the best Bass line
Gary Tibbs the Best !!!!!!
Alfa Centauri🐜 but Alan Spenner is credited as being the bassist on this song 🤔
Listen to Tony Butler(Big Country) in the Pretender's 'My City Was Gone/Ohio'...bass line!!!
Agreed my friend!!
@@williamrae9954 Thank you for the terrific recommendation!!!! You are simply amazing! May your tribe increase!

Still in love with roxy music
Longtime Roxymusic listener, first time poster; I must admit the ministry cover is where I first heard this song. So, soooo good!!!
Masterpiece

True. Alan is playing this. God bless him. 😢
still one of my favorite tunes ferry so cool
Noch immer ein Hammer geiler Song. Super Zeit damals gewesen. I LOVE THE SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOREVER.x 🩵♾
3 years old sat in the back of my dads Ford capri. 43 years ago! 😊
Gazza Tibbs is really giving it some in his white boots - auditioning for joining ' Madam and the pants '
Cool song.
What a song
Gary Tibbs getting extremely close to his Fender❤
Great
So good.
Nothings last forever
Of that I'm sure
Now you've made an offer
I'll take some more
Young loving may be
Oh so mean
Will I still survive
The same old scene'
In our lighter moments
precious few
It's all that heavy weather
We're going through
When I turn the corner
I can't believe
It's still the same old movie
That's haunting me
Young loving may be
Oh so mean
Trying to revive
The same old scene
Young loving may be
So extreme
Maybe we should try
The same old scene
What the fuck was the point of this? The lyrics were literally posted at the top. Moron.
Poco conocida y totalmente actual!. Magníficos teclados, guitarra, bajo, todo, perfecta
Siempre me.hace llorar me llega al alma. Adorado !
Every Roxy Music video has smartest comments ❤
Paul Carrack (Mike + The Mechanics) on keyboards
roxy music invented 1980's pop music
Nothing last for ever "so true"????? Bryan your the best & always will be ;) x
the guys with their backs to the band might as well be in a maths lesson
Cool song
Great tune 🎶 absolute legends!! Wasted on this audience though looked like they were so bored 😂
Good air band!
The movie Times Square brought me here .
Probably hardly anyone has seen or remembers that film. Great opening though.
I never have understood the point of people sitting on the stage, facing the audience and not the band.
lol good answer
Okey as a German I have to answer..there always more than one stage so sometimes they sit looking in front or even than with the backs to the band 😩
Obra maestra.
MacKay the mullet
Memories of a wasted youth fills my head...

Ferry is cooler than the other side of the pillow 😊

Interesting ;)
Paul Williams great catch

The guy in question looks very much like Paul Carrack. Does anyone know who it is?

the other guitarist next to Gary Tibbs is desperately trying to copy his dancing and failing miserably lol
Great song nonetheless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian looks like he's come straight from the Masai Mara
Is that Neil Hubbard ?
Is that Paul carrick on keyboards
Efectivamente,es Paul Carrack a los teclados.
I bet Bryan Ferry is good at rollerblading
なんでこんなに観客静かなの!?
It's called " listening " . Roxy are the performers not them .
They all look like they've had WAY too much sherbet...
TIMES SQUARE THEME
Would love to hear the real audio from this performance. You'd be able to hear Gary Tibbs' earnest fake playing even better.
just to remind you.... Gary Tibbs did play this live. Alan Spenner composed it yes but as a session player. GT still a fine bassist. Ask Adam Ant!
Jeremy Clarkson described Brian Ferry as "the coolest guy on the planet" 😊
