I wasn’t ott at the beginning on my purchase but now having it 8 months, the CLS is one the most amazing cars: from driving turning cruising etc; For me it more so than a s class in overall practicality: have my eyes on a 53 amg:
those intros have potential to turn into netflix series. (!) i always click to learn about your thoughts on cars but intros always steal the show, now i cant focus on the cls because this car turned into golddigger bait in one selfie in my mind :P -and on top of that the catch is thomas!
Great review. If I did win the lottery, the simple fact that a straight six has better balance than a V8, gives pause for thought before defaulting to the V8 AMG.
Please review the CLA 45 AMG, its the fastest 4 cylinder engine in the world and i know you have some comparison videos but i think it deserves a full review
Actually the old CLS w219 was a piece of crap. I hated everything about it. After 2 years of owning it, it was literally falling apart. Traded it in for my current 2015 w212 and the E class blows it away in almost everything. IMO all the newer MB are much better built and reliable than the older ones.
@@QuanPham-uq7ml - I fully understand. The W219 is actually only a W211. Of course, the W212 beats it easily. And you even had the facelift of the W212.
I would buy it. I know that the V8 isnt available for the CLS but I think that the driving experience that you get with the new engine and this new technology that Mercedes uses might make up for it.
Great car. I had the old original version of this car and it was awesome. Real head turner. The air matic worked really well and much better than my 2011 E550. Here is the opportunity for someone to make a comment about how to make it a little more firm in both modes. No complaints about the new car just not as good handling wise as the old car.
Thank you! It's about time someone called MB out for their uncomfortable interiors. Any luxury saloon at this price range should have soft touch materials throughout (particularly in areas where your knees or arms may rest) instead of hard leather, plastic or metal trims.

Bought mine a few months ago. Only critiques: rear headroom, lack of rear usb, seat comfort, apple carplay navi is better, rear sunshade isn’t worth the visibility loss. Aside from that its so much fun to drive. I tend to take the long way home just to enjoy every second of the drive
This may replace my E, Just saw one of these lowered with same wheels all black simply breathtakingly. I just wish the panoramic roof where available on these.

What a beautiful car. For folks who only have occasional back seat passengers, the sloping “coupe” roof line probably wouldn’t worry much about rear seat headroom.
The CLS is actually the only Mercedes I am interested in .. could you do a video on the 450 version .. I find it hard to justify 11,000 plus in Canada for a 0.3 seconds less getting to 100 kph and 15 ft-lb of torque .. I love the straight 6
Not sure what you decided but if the difference is only 3/10ths to 60….then outside of that special AMG feel and exhaust sound…not sure why you should spend that difference. But whatever you decided I’m sure it’s been fantastic.
450 Better choice, they discontinued the 53 because it barely sold. Not much performance difference, you don't feel the difference but just a lil stiffer but 450 lot smoother

I’d buy a 2 door “Real Coupe” all day long…. All the 2 door coupes I’ve seen lately are beautiful and so clean looking… of course the color combo is super important to looking clean….
Really nice looking car and the engine sounds awesome in power delivery methods... the auto bolsters in the SL something I drove like 3-4 yrs ago were “oh cool, that’s new” but seems like it would annoy me pretty fast.
I am actually amazed, it sounds pretty good! Been a while since I have heard a good sounding six with any other type of assistance (turbos) - save the BMW 335i (e90)

The M550 is quite a bit faster. 0-60 3.9sec. The CLS53 is like 4.4sec. Mercedes is stingy on power.
