This guy litterally helps get every run it seems for the Reds! He is incredible
@@negromedina6689sure bud
He is great for baseball. The smile, the gold chains, his whole attitude. Very entertaining.
Es un pelotero con estilo
Agreed. I was worried that he would fall off like that aquino guy the Reds had 5 years ago.
fans love to see this kind of play return. the MLB wants it too by changing the rules. but those guys who study the numbers say he is not that good. WAR is below average. and SB are useless.... 😂
@@nomar2004 Those sabermetrics nerds adored Fernando Tatis Jr. He was the salvation of the sport apparently. Look how that turned out. An absolutely pedestrian player. I prefer the eye test.
And he hustles
Him being so long and having so much stride in his run makes it unstoppable
Hes just absolutely phenomenal.
No way he was out!! They robbed him of a historic night! He clearly stole his 5th base!!
Ain't no way they tag him before he touches the base.
indeed
Thought the same thing. His hand was into the base before the tag was placed.
Exactly, we can see it on the replay. Bad call!
They should've challenged it. He looks out at full speed, but in slow mo you can tell he gets under the tag
Actually, I failed the fifth time. But when you watch him, it seems like he's going to be successful every single time.
Let's get 100 steals
I honestly think he can get even more than 100
This kid is what baseball needs….. even if you hate the reds is such a rush watching him play, la cocoa 💪🏼god keep him healthy so we can enjoy baseball 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
What I like about him is when he starts his uniform is beautiful and when he’s done it’s filthy because he puts in work unlike 99% of them could just hang their uniform back up to play next time
The grim reaper, literally every teams nightmare. it’s only a matter of time that he will be the next MVP and cover of MLB
And I can’t wait!
The cover will be him sliding into second. Mark my words.
yeah he gonna have to wait 5 more years to dethrone Ohtani
The only thing Elly does better than Ohtani is steal bases. If he can't beat Ohtani as a hitter, how will he win when he becomes a pitcher again?😂
When Elly hits 30+ home runs and has 100 stolen bases it’s gonna be hard to not give him MVP
Elly still wearing the medallion with the photo of his parents melts my heart
He is going make history 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴♥️♥️🇩🇴you will see🇩🇴❤️❤️
Unstoppable, my guy
This kid is incredible and even as a Dodgers fan I didn't hate seeing this. Gotta say though, props to Austin Barnes for catching him stealing second one time yesterday...that's clearly not easy to do!
He’s the most freakish athlete to come along in baseball in a long time.
He was never once called a unicorn.😅
@@KanetsuguNaoe1112 With respect to everything Ohtani has done and can do, as far as pure athleticism the edge goes to Cruz.
Reminds me of Vlad Guerrero but people didn’t get the highlights when he was in the Expos. I never seen a man throw as far a baseball in my life than Vladimir Guerrero
Since Trout was last healthy
Elly es un chico increíble es MVP
They call him,one of the best prospects of the last 20 years, for a reason.
Even though he's not
No you're "not" 💀
He has reignited my love of baseball!
Agreed,a complete baseball player, exceptionally talented in a lot of areas
He was safe on the fifth one!
He was safe, but unfortunately the Reds had already challenged a call earlier in the game.
He’s a beast. Gonna be fun to watch him play the Bronx Bombers.
This guy is the Ronaldinho of Baseball: always smiling and enjoying the game like he's 10 yo while destroying everyone.
MVP
What a beauty
On pace for roughly 110 SB. Would be so cool to see someone get to that century mark again.
He’s on pace to have 110 steals 😱
It's May 17th, Hes on pace for over 120. With Today's Rules, he's turned into Rickey Henderson.
Elle has 30 sb in 44 Reds games. That is 0.6818181818 per game. Not EDLC games but C Reds games. Cincinnati plays 162 games. 162 x 0.6818181818 = 110.45454545 so he on pace for ~110.
100 steals but under the new rules where it’s difficult for pitchers to hold them on base. These numbers mean little.
@@mensrea1251then why don’t even more players do it?
@@ChaseJonas75 They are. Steal attempts are up 40% and success rates are the highest in the history of the game. The rules were changed to increase base stealing and the results show that that is exactly what is happening. What part of this is difficult for you to understand.
i want a De La Cruz jersey. Dude is nice and may get 100 steals this season.
this guy is going to be a mlb star, remembered for generations
Wait...He stole four in ONE game???
Against the dodgers 😏
Yes
Yeah this actually does happen from time to time I think Jose Caballero did it like a week or two ago. But elly had 4 by the 5th inning of this game and then got on base again it’s too bad he couldn’t get #5
I'm new to baseball, so everytime the Reds had another score, I was confused. It was this guy all along. Well played.
😂😂
He had me worried for the rest of the weekend series but 0 for 13 with 8 K’s was helpful for a dodgers series win
It's like watching a different baseball game. He's that special of a player.
Modern day Ricky
Baseball has some awesome talent .. Paul skenes v Dela cruz for a half decade could be fun??
Future mvp
That one problem with the sliding mitt, you can’t grip the bag as well.
As a reds fan I know he will be in pinstripes soon enough that or running the bags at Fenway or it in LA
Acuna's record going to last all of one year lol
The number of steals by RAJ is more than doubled his own previous personal best. It’s almost like the rules were changed somehow to make it easier to steal…
Based on a 1st to 2nd base steal; He takes great leads of about 13/14 feet, waits until the pitcher is in motion, gets a great jump then runs over 30 feet per second. That leaves 76 feet of travel to steal second base so he needs about 2.15 seconds to steal from first to second. It's next to impossible for the pitcher to complete his start to finish routine/throw, the ball to make it to the catcher, and the catcher to make a trow to second base in that time. His pure presence on base is intimidating to pitchers, catchers and the rest of the infield causing stress, anxiety and leading towards more errors and inaccuracies. I know they are trying, but dammmmnnn, that's not going to be easy to stop.
Watch base stealing videos, this guy is in a league of his own.
Not only that, he's a shortstop, that plays 2nd base, 3rd base, and center field that throws cannons between 95 and 98 mph making infield plays that nullify typical 1st base hits over and over again. It's hard not to get excited watching this guy, and lets not forget he was -->
This dude is amazing
This kind of massive disruption speedsters cause to pitchers is why Rickey Henderson should be considered a top 10 all time player (Maybe top 5) because there are stats that are not really tracked that these base stealers cause pitchers and defense with by getting runs from wild pitches, error throws, balls thrown, wild pitches and on and on.
My new favorite player
He doesn't even get the best starts when he steals. But after the first couple of steps its as if he just skips 2nd gear and is in 3rd gear. He is absolutely phenomenal. Its only the middle of May! He has 4.5 months or close to 3/4 of a season to steal PLENTY more! At this rate he could steal 100 bases.
I dont think anyone will ever break the 138 stolen bases in a season. But if Elly can stay healthy, i could see him with many rrally high numbers of stolen bases like Ricky Henderson.
If this guy ever learns how to hit he'll be unstoppable.
If he improves a tiny bit batting wise.. MVP conversation very SOON
Every walk and hit is potential double and triple, reminds me of Rickey Henderson
Love it.
I just slowed down the time he got thrown out to .5 speed. He was safe the Reds should have challenged.
I ❤ ( Base ) -Steal's 😁! MLB ⚾🧢 is not unknown in Switzerland 🇨🇭, we have a Baseball/ Softball Community in our Country😊
haven't seen speed like his since Willie Mays Hayes!
E-FLY DE LA Cruz is
Flash awesome
Dude is hustling for a $500 million contract with that kind of scoring and production.
It's like he was created in a videogame with maximum sliders!
Elly "La Cocoa Predator" at it again‼️ A slimmer faster version of "The Predator"‼️🌬💨🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️
Elly De LA GOAT!
He could end up being a legend but....the strikeouts have to improve..on pace for the 4th most strikeouts in baseball history...image what this kid could do if he made more contact
Every time he gets on base you already know hes going to try and steal 😂
I’m suprised they don’t do pitchouts
@@NachoNotFood_YTthey still might not be able to get him even on pitchouts. He’s too fast
@@tyjohnson9974 yeah
pitchers simply can't walk this guy. if they walk him, few pitches later, you will find him in the 3rd base.
every base hit is a triple for elly lol
Wow ill take him on my team!!!
When a team doesn’t even attempt to cover third that’s submission!!
tyler glasnow
Because the motion is large
quick motion
better learn
Those were meaningful steals that led to 2 out runs
Pity we can't see him matched up against a Prime Yadier Molina.
When’s he focused, he’s a problem. This was against glasnow too, arguably the best pitcher rn
First Ronald Acuna Jr. more than doubling his own previous steals record and now EDLC. It’s almost like the rules were changed to make stealing easier or something…
Notice how every stolen base directly led to a run too. If he doesn't steal I'm not sure he scores on all of those hits.
Elly so cool he makes a batting helmet look cool.
every base hit is a triple for elly
Now here is a baseball player. He gets on first base. And steals home plate.
The rate he's going, he could get close to 80 stolen bases by the end of the season. If he pushes himself toward the last two months, maybe 100.
He’s only under a one yr deal reds will have to trade him during trade deadline before playoffs.
Like watching Ricky.
Fast asf boi
Move over Ohtani. I think MLB just found their next golden boy.
NEXT MVP SOON
At least Barn's got him once.
SB: someone let L.A. know they may wanna change that "ANA" billboard in left field. Lil sus.
Lost the top few buttons on his uniform ?
If acuna had 73..elly will have over 100
Especially since Acuna had 35 before the All-Star Break, and Elly has 30 with two months until the event.
4-4 4SBs 2 Runs sheesh
He's coming for Rickey Henderson this year.
*The Randy Moss of MLB*
Just auditioning for the Dodgers. No way the Reds keep him.
Smelly De La Cruz!
He was safe
He's like upgraded version of Billy Hamilton
Once this dude takes off, it’s a base stolen done deal. Catchers don’t need to even bother trying to throw the ball 😂
If he keeps playing this well the dodgers will probably scoop him up with their infinite amount of money.
This All Star Break., “…and the Dodgers are interested in trading for Elly De La Cruz”
Learn to pitch from the stretch just like Yamamoto.
If only steals equaled wins
Will be forgotten in a few years. Yes talent. But longevity will be lacking
🇩🇴⚡️⚡️
Those bases are so stolen-hot, he needs an oven mit! Lol
Giant kiddie bases + reduced pickoffs. Dude wouldn't have stolen 30 a year 2 years ago.
🔥🇩🇴🇩🇴
