Here in the UK, I’ve noticed many supermarkets have started to pretty much force people to sign up for memberships to their stores, to get the best “discounts” on their products.
This seems to be a big part of the plan to see what you buy and eat. The difference in price is pretty big so it forces people into signing up, if they don’t, they’ll pay up to double the price for things.
It’s happening at every single store and has only started happening within the last year.
What baffles me here is, the price you pay as a non member is a very inflated price and is 100 a scam yet the government allow it to happen. No one is saving a single penny so this should be made illegal.

From India I can vouch that Direct Benefit Transfer to Indian beneficiaries was welcome move & huge success.
It made sure corrupt state government bureaucracy & politicians were bypassed. This resulted in huge savings, it starved corrupt politicians, hence they are crying hoarse.
Actually I did happen to meet few beneficiaries, yes they get DBT on time and it’s much easier. Especially no harassment from middle men.

Just to point our India has already started trials on digital currency cbdc called digital rupee, its in trial phase and will be launched in couple years.

For a first world country...many concepts like Financial inclusion , G2P and DPI looks sinister ( because they are low populations harnessing maximum resources of the whole planet ).
But for mass populations like India or whole of Africa, these tools are like basic infrastructure that is ( I am NOT saying that will ) that is , that has benefited millions especially by creating more transparency in fund transfer , by eliminating middle men and also in vaccinating the biggest population in the world ( India )
I am an Indian and here digital ID has changed the life and the way we live drastically for good. But I think G20 initiative is for global south countries and not for other G20 members. Digital ID, "Aadhar" allowed people to open bank accounts who previously were not part of financial institutions. So what changed here is, people were verified and authenticated by govt. So banks do not have to do KYC in depth. Bank accounts allowed people to get benefits that they used to get directly in their account. This eliminated middle-men who were major source of corruption. Secondly, we have something called UPI (bank accounts linked to Aadhar) for digital transactions. I havent paid hard cash since 2019 as UPI allows Indians to pay anything and everything via an app. I have paid via UPI in major cities and even in my remote village where I grew up. This also reduces corruption and increases tax base. Next initiative govt is bringing is cheap credit. Business that have aadhar and history in UPI can request for loan in the app and then private companies can provide their bids for such loans. These initiatives have changed the life or ordinary citizens. Regarding the security of data, it is a discussion that is ongoing and improvements are made constantly.
I second this ! The digital revolution is mind boggling in India. From a small street vendor to big businesses everyone is using it. It’s a success story I think PBD guys need to study this personally. If only they could go there and witness it. The success story despite complexities of India’s different demographic needed to be studied in details.

Digital IDs can be checked and verified by the government.
Maybe be smart yourself and try to understand what digitalisation actually is. It's not a method for controlling people but to get rid of middlemen corruption and a more effecient financial system. as a indian i can understand what you are saying, we can see how corruption have reduced and more good things with digital stack based on of aadhar. but it will not be acceptable in US and europe. in near future they are making OCEN to give fast online credit to businesses if that credit lending boost the economic growth substantially then western world might think of it but still there will be lot of opposition.

So you are ok with your goverment controling your money? They can tell u what not to buy, for example, no more meat, not by gasoline, not use electricity, no travel. Its easy form them to block your found when your carbon footprint is over the daily/weekly/monthly limit. Also the say that there will bena limit on your digital money. That means no saving. It’s uncel Claus and WEF that says openly that u wont own anything and u will be happy. Fight against digital money with your life. Or else the freedom and future is lost.

I am from India so I cant say about other countries; but I see INDIA written all over this - the terminologies used, the sentence constructs, the focus areas etc. Look at the definition of major schemes implemented in India, you will be able to see more or less the same wordings, terminologies, focus areas etc.

I started working on CBDC in 2011. I know all the games behind CBDC and the real players. This was well planned and they used Covid-19 as their launch platform and marketing sales initiative. Bitcoin was also pre-planned by the same group to prepare the grounds of a digital money platform. Blockchain won't be used by CBDC.
What are our options and when will this be mandatory?
