I think its safe to say a few things; 1) Happy Maddison is no better at appealing to families through animation than they were to adults back with Eight Crazy Nights (even if Leo isn’t in the same level of badness). 2) If parents are gonna let their kids watch something for Thanksgiving this year, Wish is their best option, if not Trolls Band Together as well. Feels like a reverse of the Nimona and Ruby Gillman case.
It's like the middle of the year had the better movies than the latter half. Wish and SG's newest film are going to be good but Trolls 3 is just okay at best. DreamWorks lackater year following 2022.
I didn't expect you to dislike it, I'm seeing a lot of good reviews. But to me, it sounds like just an average kids film. Wholesome, but nothing special. Also not a fan of Adam Sandler.
To be frank, I loved this movie. It definitely is not the best animated film, but I think there were some really charming and hilarious scenes found in here. The back and forth between Sandler and Burr's character was fun. The designs of the 1st graders is just freakin' hilarious. Some of the shots and songs found in the film are well written and very much played up for laughs. It also just has a nice message. Overall, if you don't casually watch some of his classics like Waterboy or Mr. Deeds then you may or may not like this film, but I would say if you like those comedies. Give this one a shot! I think this review is a little too harsh. It's okay to turn your brain off and have a little bit of fun. I respect this review, I just want to put in my two cents.
Hey, I'm really glad you loved it! I'm only one guy and I don't think people should take my reviews as anything more than an opinion and they're totally fine to disagree with me and enjoy a film that I may not personally like. I'm more than happy if others find something in a film that I might not find. I'm not a huge Sandler comedy fan so this film was probably not gonna be my thing, but I can see how this could work for others. ^^
I’m honestly wonder if you saw the same film because the actual movie is really good and did better critically than Wish. But it’s just your opinion. I think the film handled well the scenes in of Leo talking to the kids because it feels like a therapy scene. As someone who is young and struggles with mental health the therapy scenes feel relatable to me. Leo is a good character because he really cares for the kids’ problems. Ms Malkin was a really pleasant surprise for me because instead of making her a classic mean teacher villain, they made her sympathetic and she just put on a tough persona just to be a good teacher. Speaking of teachers I love how they said that teachers can also be a part of your family too because they can care for you. I think the animation looks nice like the details of Leo’s scales and the designs of the humans. I think they made the kindergartners look bad because kindergartners are balls of energy so the animation and the designs were trying to make them look like that. Yes, the movie isn’t perfect as it has flaws like the songs are not great, the plot of Leo escaping to the wild gets forgotten (which to be fair he decided not to leave for the kids), the third act feels forced as they did the third-act breakup and the ending where they fight a crocodile was also forced just to add an action-packed scene in the end but still has a decent movie Again, I do wonder if you saw the same movie because this movie is definitely better than Wish
@@DistinctlyMeFilms The bulk of the feature animation was done by blue sky studios who had a almost 75 percent complete movie in the can before Disney their new owner shut them down and didn't even let them complete it as it was completed by the same company behind the animation on Ron's gone wrong and the upcoming Garfield movie and Netflix released the final film.
As much this is not as good as HT which Adam Sandler is in but I'll take it over 8 crazy nights a terrible holiday movie so mean spirited and misused great 2D animation. It's like most Adam Sandler comedies have good intentions but fall flat comedy wise.
Man, Netflix is really making animal logic a horrible place to work at. The magician's elephant and the monkey king were really terrible, but Leo is so much worse!!! They had that one good strike with Nimona, but everything else got ruined.
If I can give some advice, I think you should mute the clips you use in these videos. I know they're quieted down a bit, but the audio is still kinda distracting. Otherwise, great video!

Hey there, newcomer here. I just watch the movie, and I actually kind of like it. I want to share my opinions here, and I hope you will understand. While I do have to agree about your opinion about why you didn't like this movie, but you do have to give credit where credit is due: Adam Sandler did at least try to make a movie that kids can relate to. Sure, the kids are mostly stereotypes, but to my understanding, they're more than just stereotypes. Also, I kind of like the animation here, as it does kind of remind me of late-2000s Pixar movies. Sure, it can be janky at times, but still. Not only that, Leo himself, to me, is a likable character here (at least his character is better than his character in Eight Crazy Nights, since I didn't like Davey much), and I think you should re-watch the whole movie to gain more things about it, since, well... Leo just wants to spend his life because he knew he's going to die since he spend most of his time stay at school watching the kids from other generations as the years go by. I also like the ending (I'm not going to spoil it to anyone), and it almost makes me cry that these kids are going to middle school thanks to Leo's help. Again, I'm not saying that I want you to like it, I just hope that you'll understand. PS: Do you think that the animation here looks like a Pixar film to you? I hope that you'll answer my question. I'm waiting for your response.

Better Bad Review Than AniMat's Reviews of Trolls Band Together
But like, everything is better than Animat's content

Here's a Weird Thing. Leo Gets 80% ON ROTTEN TOMATOES. And Disney's Wish. Getting 64%. This Was DUMB. Even By Rotten Tomatoes Standards
Never put your full trust into RT they're all over the place rating movies.
Wish is now at 46% at the time I'm writing this
@@samfeldstein4498 And yet Trolls band together has a better rating what's going on.
I wasn't expecting to laugh this much when watching the film.
I enjoyed it so much that I put right behind Angry Birds 2.
This movie is terrible and Netflix was doing so well with nimona!
It's like they have one or two great things to be released than mostly mid to bad stuff after them. Netflix is a hard to track quality wise.
Netflix didn't make Nimona, it just distributed it.

How did AnimalLogic, aka the Lego Movie Studio, animate the LEGO stuff so awkwardly lol

My least favorite animated movie the year.
