@@thefirstbourne149 it would be if any of it was memorable. The characters are forgettable. The plot and storyline is forgettable at least for me anyway. So no, it's not a good thing for me
@SHANE_M_TAPIA I'm saying there opinions can't be took into consideration because the either don't finish a show before reviewing it or review something without finishing it. So they fill another of time making lame jokes rather than critique a movie or a show
To be honest...I didn't care for this movie. The music wasn't catchy, the plot was predictable, the story wasn't at all new, and the characters weren't anything special. Plus, and I'm sorry to say this...but I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler's voices - I know they're meant to be funny, but I just find them to be annoying. Though I will admit that the animation was pretty good. The worst parts for me were the kindergartners - they didn't even act (or looked) like kids, and acted like they were possessed or inhuman. Seriously, those "supposed" children were just plainly annoying...and terrifying to look at. Also, the crush Ms. Malkin had on Coach Komura was just pointless, because it had absolutely nothing to do with the story. Why were Ms. Malkin's book covered in dust and spiderwebs? Ms. Malkin trying to teach the kids responsibility while having a dead animal in her bad...very hypocritical. And while it was a musical, and despite the songs being original, I didn't find any of them to be clever or enjoyable. The humor was also not that funny to begin with - such as the mean substitute (who used her vacuum for almost everything), there being more than one Cole, the miniature pony riding a zebra, the gross sobbing with the snot coming out, the stereotypical class bully who isn't smart or clever, the kid who always has chip covered hands, the old guy with the sexy wife, the judgemental and self-entitled rich family; among some other things - and what exactly was the point of the living clocks? I really think it would have been better if this movie took inspirations from "Bluey" - where kids are so much more accurately portrayed. But also focussed a bit more on the problems the kids had, and maybe confronting their parents about them. One example is Ei, because the drone wasn't the real problem, it was his overprotective parents; because they made the drone hover over Eli constantly, so the drone is really just an extension over the parents control over Eli's life. Another thing I would have liked to see was if both Leo and Squirtle got to give advice - Leo could be the settle one, while Squirtle was more direct. And if Leo was advising the kids, maybe Squirtle could do the same for the parents. I mean, having a reptile who doesn't sugarcoat facts and tells the adults their mistakes right to their faces - that is something I would have liked to see. Also, Squirtle could have had a much more clever name. I do kind of see why Mrs. Malkin believes that so many modern kids are being pampered and cuddled, and that doesn't drive them to do better or to change - but you shouldn't go too far where you make the kids miserable. Maybe they could of had both Mrs. Malkin and Mrs. Salinas work together, maybe find some common ground on how to both encourage and discipline the kids. And maybe a blooming romance between Eli and Summer could have been nice. The part where Mrs. Malkin abandoned Leo in The Everglades just felt completely unnecessary. If they were going to do that, why not just have Leo grow so old that during a class reunion, the kids (who are now full grown adults) he guided decide to take him to The Everglades where he sees the beauty of the wild, and at the end, when everybody is resting and enjoying the sunset...Leo peacefully dies in his sleep. His friends are of course heartbroken over this, but they know that while Leo's life wasn't anything grand, he still lived a rather good life, and finally got to see The Everglades on his last day. And this ending may be heartbreaking, but there are times when tragedy can actually help make a movie better - and that's what I think this movie needed. It's pretty sad, because as I watched this I really wanted to like it. But unfortunately it was pretty childish, and there were times when breaking into song just came out of nowhere. Some of the comedy was dumb or gross. I just feel that focussing a bit more on dealing with the issues the kids deal with (and what parents can make their children go through) could have been better. However, I'm not gonna lie...watching Jayda's Mom do Pilates in that sexy skin tight outfit...I thought of it the throughout the rest of the movie. Hey, the creators knew what they were doing. And I for one am not going to apologize for that.
