We should not have this food insecurity we have lots of food and lots of starvation, it's weird, you'll see that soon, normally it's hidden) We have people going into debt to buy food, they'll die otherwise. Or you're stealing it. Either of these dynamics will only increase in a time like this. In my opinion, the government should implement mandatory economic and financial literacy programs for all workers. This would help employees better understand the complexities of the economy and the challenges faced by large employers in Trudeau's Canada. It’s important for workers to recognize how the economic environment, often shaped by liberal policies, can create a hostile and competitive landscape for big businesses.

@@am7-p I can see how liberals are at fault for policies that don't factor the spending ability of the population of Canada, but NDP? NDP wants every canadian to have the ability to spend, regardless of circumstances. If you owned a business, do you want a large cut of your potential customers to not afford your goods or services? That's the only promise canada brings because a lot of us are too poor. I'd rather not open in canada or close up shop, or find a better economy where people, wether they work or not, can afford my good or service. You must not be business savvy or entrepreneurial if you think having a business in an economy like this is ok and it's NDPs fault, that's weird, they want you to have money to spend on businesses more than any party has.

I had a union destroy a business I in which was called by management the best employee. The 1400 pink slips the same day were caused, torturously over years by a union. It was not fun, but I know whose fault it was. Don’t blame a company for protecting shareholders from a union. Those laid off have the union to blame nobody else. This is what unions do, and much worse, and I have all the receipts. Lost my job yes I did, but because of the union not the employer.

Boycott Amazon and let them know you mean business. We would rather pay $50 dollars more for each Item we buy rather than the lower costs because we all have tons of money and we can afford things like onions that cost $1.50 in the store. Or $79.99 for a book. Canadians don't mind the inflation, shrink-flation. Unionize everything so we all make $50 bucks an hour for 1 week then collect unemployment insurance for the rest of the year. Without Canadians the USA economy would be in a heap of ruins. So lets stand up and unite.

Two sides to every story. One side is that this is terrible for the affected employees. The other side is how unions have gotten out of hand and gone far beyong their original necessity and intent. With many of Canada’s public service offices ballooning in recent years with new hires, the quality and availability of services has declined dramatically. A lot were temporarily allowed to work from home during the pandemic, but now unions are fiercely fighting for many to continue doing that. Relying on self discipline with diminished supervision for a large number of employees, is reckless and negligent. Corporations rarely have a sole, but human greed and unjustified entitlement is unfortunately very common today as well. Amazon had a window to avoid what they perceive as a future headache, and right or wrongfully, they acted. It’s unfortunate but this dynamic exists because greed exists on both sides, especially today.
