Good for the woman who tries to stay positive. Yes, it's a tough but life goes on. Worrying about things out of your control impacts your health and allows these megacorps to keep pressing their thumbs on all of us in perpetuity long after they've signed your last cheque.

@@melindacadarette3447 I studied that since economics all the time deals with labor and capital.
Instead of calling you unproductively unprintable names I will point you in the right direction.
Edmund Phelps, a Nobel Prize winner, suggests subsidies for the lowest-paid workers.
Minimum-wage laws cause unemployment yet subsidies for the lowest-wage earners will not do that since they do not create the surplus of lowly skilled or unskilled labor as the minimum wage does.
On the contrary: they increase demand for labor thus lowering unemployment.
Labor unions support minimum-wage laws since - given the competition for employment - these laws keep their members employed ( and paying hefty dues ) while preventing other unskilled / low-skilled labor from entering the work force.
Unions destroyed livelihood of naive workers in mining, steel industry and automotive industry.

The problem is that in order to win favour and votes in Quebec... the many successive governments have allowed unions to become a huge lobby by allowing them to combine forces and join huge provincial associations that are able to sway huge percentages of the population (FTQ and the CSN). Unions should, at most, represent an industry, and best case scenario, should only be comprised of employees from one organization. They should still have all the same protections the law provides but only where it concerns that company and those individuals...not the voting weight of 50% of the province. I hope Quebec is able to claw-back ALL the $$ incentives they gave Amazon to come to Quebec.
