"Blackbird" is among the few true masterpieces of rock.
Another great song by them you got to listen is Words Darken Than Their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall. Both Tremonti and Myles sing and play guitar in the song.

Myles rules. He's also the singer/occasional dual lead guitarist for Slash's solo band.
Slash's solo music with Myles is so criminally underrated. Apocalyptic Love as a whole is one of my favourite newer hard rock albums
Myles Kennedy has, probably, the best voice in rock today. On the subject of his guitar playing, he spent years as a guitar teacher and both the guitarists he works with (Tremonti here and Slash on Slash's solo stuff) have said that Myles is a better player than they are. Oh, you are so right about Marks guitar - I have a 10Top charcoal burst USA PRS Tremonti and it is so beautiful and the tones are awesome.
I've heard people call this song like a newer Stairway to Heaven, and im leaning towards agreeing with that. Love it

The guitar solo and vocals are definitely better in Amsterdam
It's not as a chris cornell tribute though. Since the amsterdam concert they filmed there was in 2009. I know because i was there.

Don't know if you're aware, Myles played 'Thor' in the movie, Rock Star. Thor is the guy who Wahlburg has pulled out of the stands because of his voice.

If you've never really dived into the Alter Bridge catalogue, I would highly recommend it. Of their 6 albums, you'll be very hard pressed to find a single bad song anywhere. They're very underrated and it's a shame that more people haven't found them in their ~16 years they've been together.

Myles Kennedy can shred, he even won a shredding comp in the 90s where he blew everyone away. Both Tremonti and Slash say he's a better guitarist than them but doesn't show off because he's the singer and doesn't want to take away from the 'lead' guitarists haha
There is a song 'Watch Over You' by Alter Bridge. Please watch the solo version on Billboard sung by Myles Kennedy. He is a great vocalist.

Would highly recommend Words Darker Than Their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall might be one of the best live performances in more recent years. Other than that I'd say Cry of Achilles but to be honest it's a hard to find a bad song of theirs so go nuts.

Myles Kennedy (singer) has one of the biggest rock voices out there. I believe I read he has a 4 octave range, 8 semitones. He was also a guitar instructor back in the day. He and Tremonti mesh together so well. I hope you dive into them more. All their stuff is top shelf.

This is a great band to dig into. Myles and Mark are a fantastic duo and in my opinion, one of the best in the business. They feed off each other and allow the other to thrive without pushing one into the background. Like some of the comments say, Words darker than their wings (Live at Royal Albert Hall) is another great song that showcases their teamwork and skill.
“Mark, as good of a guitar player as he is, it must be hard to take a back seat for most of this”. Then Mark Tremonti proceeds to absolutely melt your face with a ripping solo.
Follow the rabbit hole to Alter Bridge and you'll never want to escape. They are a part of my every day. I laughed so hard when you said "oh, the singer plays guitar, too?" Loved your reactions to it all.
The comments have covered anything else I could say. I saw them in Feb for the last performance of their tour. Mad love and respect for Myles, Mark, Brian, and Scott!

This is Creed with one hell of a lead singer, being Myles Kennedy. SOOOO many GREAT songs I can recommend. Watch over you (Live at billboard), Rise Today, Ghosts of days gone by, Isolation, Metalingus, In loving memory (which was wrote by Mark Tremonti, for his mom who he had just lost, grab some tissues for that one)... Alter Bridge is in my top 3, right with Avenged Sevenfold. I promise you, Alter Bridge will not disappoint you.

My favorite 3 singers of all time are Chris Cornell, Layne Staley and Myles. I’m glad I can at least see him live. Going to his show in September then seeing Tremonti with Sevendust and Daughtry in November! First time seeing them and I hope Alter Bridge tours soon. I’d spend $1000 easily if I had to in order to see them together
51 comments and the amount you commented on his voice and no one bothers to mention that Myles was sick during this performance? Granted, by any normal metric, it would still be considered amazing, it is actually far from the quality he's capable of. As so many have pointed out already, please check out his live performance of Words Darker Than Their Wings and so many other live performances to hear what he's like when healthy.

He had bronchitis and that was him at 80%. My 2 favorite songs he has done are isolation and Anastasia with slash. Check out Anastasia it’s basically Beethoven’s 9th on guitar.
The opening bit Myles plays is Blackbird from the Beatles just to help get him get ready for the emotionally heavy song.
The Singer is Myles Kennedy. And he is a GREAT guitarist, too. And I love that what you said about what it says about Mark as a man that he lets Myles take the lead like that. In one of your other vudeos, you talked about how they must have big egos because they are great rock stars. But the truth is, neither of them does. And that is truly what makes them a dynamic duo. Myles wants Mark to sing more (and he has a GREAT voice) and Mark wants Myles to play more solos. They truly compliment esch orher and make each other even better.
The lead singer is Myles Kennedy. His voice is incredible. You should DEFINITELY check out a song called Anastasia that he does with Slash. The live version. It’s amazing.

Someone else already said this, but Alter Bridge is basically Creed but with a different lead singer. I suspect a lot of if not all the songs from AB's first album would've been on Creed's 4th album had they not disbanded- those songs feel like they very well could've been on a Creed album. Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti both sing & play guitar. Mark Tremonti has his own group, Tremonti, where he is the lead guitarist and lead singer. They have four albums and they're worth checking out too.
The opening number that Myles is playing is the Beatles version of Blackbird as a homage to the Beatles.
Saw these guys live in February. Great show. They perform very well. I found myself saying "wow" because of Myles Kennedy's singing ability, how he does such difficult things but makes it seem absolutely effortless. It amazed me. Check them out live if you get the chance, video never does it justice.

Alter Bridge is one of the only bands I have ever heard that does NOT have a bad song. They have a bunch of albums and all the songs are just artistry. This is an older song but it is one of the best songs of all time. Yes, I am an AB fan but this is still a killer song. Myles and Mark are excellent song writers!

I agree with everyone who recommend Words Darker Than Their Wings live in Royal Albert Hall. It was by far their best performance. The live version is far better than the studio version.

I went to see AB in nashville last year 2019... I was completely blown away from their live performance... not to mention SEVENDUST's guitarist - Clint Lowery- was an opener as well. I've seen SEVENDUST twice, and they absolutely kill it!
I like Creed well enough but I feel Mark gets to let loose and shred far more in AB. Words Darker, Fortress, Cry of Achilles, pretty much anything...

Hey man I found you because of this song and I wanted to see what your reaction would be to it I mean obviously most people like the classics and given your name Metal Biker dude I kind of knew what to expect but I wanted to see what your Vibe was see if we had similar take some things and we have similar vibes so kudos to you. But with Creed taking out Scott Stapp changing the name of the band to Alter Bridge and replacing him with Myles we're not only is an amazing singer but a pretty good guitar player as well was what they were missing but I was curious to see how you would react to this song so I am now a subscriber and I liked this video waiting to see what you do in the future

I love Myles Kennedy (the singer) The band in general is so underrated, they have so many gems but it feels like they get overlooked. I believe everyone but Myles played in Creed back in the day. Tremonti on guitar in this song killed that solo, it was so emotional. When my grandpa passed away last year, I played this song a lot, it really helped me get through the pain and sorrow that I felt while I was trying to grieve. Honestly the world needs to know about these guys, but sadly people just wanna listen to cheesy pop songs sung by people who have little talent and depend on their editors to sound decent and then sound like shit live. Myles has said that he feels like he’s more of a guitarist than a singer which is saying something
Couple more tunes and you’ll drop the Creed link dude, but kudos for an awesome reaction to an awesome song, from an awesome band! More please! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Alter Bridge really wants to distance themselves from Creed.
I suggest you watch the Amsterdam version of this song because it is far better than Wembley version. You will be amazed.
Alter Bridge is basically Creed without Scott Stapp(Creed lead singer). every member of AB was in Creed, minus Myles.

I don't know much about Alter Bridge except Mypes Kennady who has been featured with Slash in his band. FYI he can Sang!!!
At one time the three guys from Creed kicked Scott Stapp out of the band and reformed as Alter Bridge with Myles Kennedy. Quite a bit of a difference between Creed and Alter Bridge. Mark Tremonti also sings in this band as well as his side band called Tremonti. 5 albums in and another band well worth a listen.
"He's not a bad guitar player himself man" Both Mark Tremonti and Slash have said in the past that Myles Kennedy is the best guitarist in the band... Myles is an amazing guitar player who happens to be the singer. Funny thing though is the guitarist, Mark Tremonti is a better singer (IMO) than many lead singers out today

Actually just any..or all. I think this is the only band keeping it real these days. Myles is the best vocalist of this generation. And this band is the last hope for me. I can depend on them to feel motivated.

Nooooo, you can't compare Creed with Alterbridge. Myles Kennedy (singe, who also performs with Slash) is a phenominal guitar player and one of the best singers at all times. I watched them several times live, they are so driffen and every note is spot on. This is definatly the best band live. Please listen to "Words darker than their wings" at the Royal Albert Hall. They indeed sing both and play guitar. No eo's in this band, just love for music.

Myles is a jazz theory specialist and the very best guitarist as singer ever. He deliberately downplays and cooperates with the band to balance Tremonti. They're grown-ups
