    Great video! Gonna be kind of a nerd here, but a little misconception about Dilla's production is that he didn't use quantization in order to achieve his signature drum sound, when in reality he DID USE quantization, but in a different and creative way, something that no one ever did before him. So yeah, he was a genius innovator, but not because he decided to add random sloppiness on his drums, quite on the contrary, he was a master at achieving controlled loosenes, it was a very deliberate, meticulous and calculated process. The guy basically had his own way of perceiving time feel on music. If you are interested, check the book Dilla Time by Dan Charnas, he explains what Dilla did in a lot more detail.

    I think it's amazing that he made his last album 🍩 donuts in a hospital bed using nothing but his Boss sp-303 sampler, a portable turntable and 45's..RIP Dilla 🔥

      Thats been debunked that he made it a year before after getting out of the hospital n then when it got bad he put out yhe album 3 days before he passed n he made the beats on his laptop

      @keithprice1950 6 месяцев назад +1

      He didn't. He made it using Pro Tools and it wasn't done in the hospital.

      what version are you looking to get....the 1000 can do just about all with some japanese software [JJOS] which is very easy to obtain and also learn...however i feel like you should look into the 2500....My opinion its a midway point of the 1000 and 3000...in numbers however it came out after all of them....then the 4000, then 5000....everything else is pretty much computer n midi based....the novelty MPC500 was pretty cool too but so hard at sequencing (alot of math involved)....either way you go, i say at learn the analog versions first to appreciate the whole cut n paste versions that it is today. Renaissance, studio, etc etc.....

      @cheif80 10 месяцев назад +1

      @creative_soul-recolo it's a cheaper option..altho the mpc one or [live I & II] are newer and around the same price (used) and easier to compose with. do ur research with a tutorial. There's sooo many on here that deep dive into it

    All the drums in Def Leppards Pyromania and the next album the one the rocked them into mainstream popularity for a few year. So before Rick Allen lost his arms producer Mutt Lang was pushing for drum sounds found on pop albums. Wild
