U.G. if he did anything for me, helped to clarify what I have suspected since I was a kid. Nobody knows what they’re talking about when it comes to what the right decisions are, or even what’s wrong. When I followed Jordan Peterson thinking that I could improve my life… why should I improve my life? 12 rules for life did nothing for me. I didn’t even look at the 12 more he put out. Psychedelics were fun, but beyond that they had no answers for me either. Alan watts and the way of zen fascinated me too, but nevertheless I could not clear my mind or become one with anything. When I tried to live in the present moment it was absurd because I began to realize that’s all I ever did! If there was a time in space it could only be right now. Always. If anything Alan watts just gave me a new goal to run after: What was enlightenment? Could I become enlightened? All I wanted was to improve myself in some way, to be smarter and more clever than my friends, more wise. I even told a coworker when I was 17 that I was going to be a bodhisattva someday. It wasn’t till I started to listen to U.G. That I finally heard someone talking so frankly about the situation we find ourselves in… I cannot change the things about myself that others tell me are wrong and anyway why should they be right? What authority gives them the go-ahead to tell me what I can think or believe? God? How many thousands of Gods have we created? The Catholics, like my family, tell me that they have the right god, but so do my friends who are Hindu or Muslim. Once you come into this “state”, mode of being so-to-speak that I can say I operate in now… though I don’t like phrasing it that way…. Just like U.G. Would say, there’s no way to describe such a state if it even exists because once you “get here” you find that you really have no clue where you are. I know my geographical location, but I know that only because I was taught that. Even what happiness was in contrast to anger was taught to me with coloured faces in school: Green for happy, yellow for so-so, orange for irritated, and red for anger… so I never knew these concepts that we’ve been taught and fed since birth. I had to learn. I even had to learn how to learn through 12 grades of school that I never chose or wanted to attend. I use nothing from what I learned in school other than basic math for counting my apples and my oranges. Same goes for anything I was taught… the knowledge of colour is only useful when your mom asks you to buy her a particular type of paint. I wouldn’t say to her “Mom, orange is just an illusion that everyone has been bought and sold on.”
I also don’t try to cram it down other people’s throats… why should I help anybody to be free from these things? Anything I try to do to break myself or anyone else free from the wants needs and feelings we all share would only reinforce and strengthen the false belief that they actually exist.
I will not comfort anyone or try and give them hope. For what reason? Hope is hopeless. Samsara is a broken down Ferris wheel at an abandoned amusement park. Why speak of the world as concepts, as Maya? That implies there is a world beyond maya that can be experienced. No.

Everything I read within this comment is a nail slammed by it's head.
One of the greatest things UG has said is basically that whatever he is saying can't be picked up by us and put into a frame because the way he speaks prevents it, it's truly amazing, I've on repeat listened to UG over and over again and I cannot pick up what he is saying, I can easily put all those saints and saviors of mankind to the side but all I'm left with is this chattering in the "mind" which he says doesn't even exist, only when I'm on Mushrooms do I truly find peace and that harmony he speaks of but when the Mushrooms wear off I'm left confused as to what even happened while I was on the psychedelic.
