    🇿🇦 14:40 In the past, South African meat companies did not sell chicken parts to consumers. The parts were thrown away. But they quickly learned that black South Africans actually ate them as a delicacy.
    This has nothing to do with poverty. It stems from when people slaughtered their own chickens in rural areas. No edible part of the chicken was thrown away. Chicken feet was voted as the best part of a chicken on Family Feud SA by the audience, and Steve Harvey could not believe it!

      Point of correction. The chicken parts and other animal insides that are undesirable were not part of the main diet for South Africans, the township economy and the challenges that came with losing land and the ability to farm made them the only affordable alternative as they were undesirable to the European markets that our butchers were exporting to. Feet, insides and heads were normally given to pets or little kids but the change in the socio-economic situation made it popular in the hostels and townships (ghettos) as they were abundant and affordable.

    • @BuhlebzNetwork
      @BuhlebzNetwork Год назад +1

      Hostel people eating chicken feet?😂 Maybe the morden generation in hostels chicken feet you were not going to see in the old days because there it was a resident of the respected family mans so eating something used to be given to children was an abomination they rather eat cows intestines or cows head. That is what they were famous with not chicken feets and heads those things were for children " inhloko namathumbu " and other meat chicken was very rare in the hostels until women allowed to stay there everything changed because now you find children in the hostels which were not allowed those days, now they eat everything.but chicken feet have been around in the supermarkets for long time but our mothers were not dare giving our fathers those kinds of meat I don't know township people I'm talking about rural mans.

Sometimes a top or dress may be a bit revealing, but not completely missing.😂 😂😂 3:17

  • @nomfunekonosilela3895

    The topless ladies are not women, they are girls who are not married yet, culturally it's acceptable for virgin girls who are not yet married to not cover their breasts coz they are showing how proud they are of their bodies. Married women are supposed to cover their bodies as a sign of respect for themselves and their husbands.
    Chiken feet , heads, hearts, gizzard are a very good source of cartilage though we mostly eat them coz " zimnandi" and some of us it's nostalgic as we reminisce of our younger days in our mama's house.

  • @cboh9530
    @cboh9530 Год назад +8

    Chicken parts, let me take you back so that you can understand back in the days.... chicken business is mainly commercialized. There are chicken farms, when packing chicken for customers it could be in various ways, it could be wings only drumsticks, breast part or a whole chicken it all depends on specifications. Remember that from hatching the chicken, to when it's ready to be slaughtered cleaned to making chicken burgers, pops or nuggets and other variations is done for example by one farm(company). With all the chicken hearts, livers heards and neck they can't just throw that away if you doing business it doesn't make sense, before they'd sell it to their workers which later became demand from ordinary people. It clear to say they then decided to package it and sell it to the public you came across it as well. It goes a long way for those who are struggling at least and for others they love to nibble on it and are creative in cooking it as well.
    Just as you can get livers from restaurants for example Spur, Nandos people have inventive ways to cook them and make it tasty...

    The chicken parts😂😂😂
    Okay, we get to have a lot of chicken parts that can be packaged because of the chickens that get slaughtered to give us packaged chicken portions. We've always ate the whole chicken, including the intestines so when the chicken factories realized that, they stopped throwing away perfectly good meat. You should try them, they just need someone who knows how to cook them.

In 2001 they started selling them in huge frozen boxes and Pick n Pay was the one doing the research and first to sell in their supermarkets
