You said Leagues have made players quit in droves and only come back for future leagues, all while showing the graph that shows the player count hasn't ever gone below it's mid 2019 numbers, before leagues started. And that graph shows actively online, not active accounts. I mean, I agree that the private servers aren't a great idea, but to say leagues has ruined OSRS is just not true. Also, OSRS is based on the 2007 version of the game, which means OSRS has been out longer than runescape was out up until 2007. The "purist" of the game shouldn't even be here anymore, because OSRS is definitely not 2007 anymore., and the game is better for it.

You made some pretty valid points. And I agree with you for the most part, I don't think this Project Zanaris decision was made in the best interest of OSRS players. It feels like devs at Jagex realized they can make a bunch of money off people that are willing to pay to win. That's why they arent doing anything like this on RS3, because they already have a pay to win system set up there. As much as I would like to see all the amazing content that creators will come up with, I feel like there will be a huge decline of players on the public/ official Jagex servers. Overall I think this will either be a really good thing for OSRS that will bring people back or, like you said, the downfall of the game... I could go on and on, but thanks for the insight. Have a nice day :)

Leagues are not killing the game. Its bringing in a ton of players who now have families/jobs etc and allows them to experience a fun game play for 2 months. (just go look up the numbers/amount of players who buy membership when leagues are released). The points obtained during leagues is then transferred to the main game for cosmetics. I play leagues for the cosmetic items for the main game. IMO creating a new style of game play that allows people to buy servers and customize is a huge waste of time. Its a cool theory, but even if someone created a server that has an incredible boss or other minigame etc, i'm not going to waste the time to essentially grind a new account on that server to try out a boss/minigame that will not give me anything in the main game.
