Lovely job Del Boy … Great tip with the 50 mm timer blocks for fixing back the base units , beats fiddling about with those L brackets & a much more solid fix .. 👍🏼 Looking forward to seeing it completed. Keep em coming del 🔨
I was chatting to another chippie mate about how most carpenters actually love what they do Kevin, and I always appreciate fellow carpenters watching and commenting🤗 Thanks for your great comment😎Cheers Del
Driers when full weigh a fair bit, I'd put the angle support on three sides with two 15mm shelves, lovely job and I can see you're enjoying the install 🪚👍
Some good practices there big man 👏👏 Our manufacturer also do the separate solid sink panel but I remove it now (fortunately they make the unit with vertical front and rear rails) as I had two bad experiences with undermount sinks that required removing to either be resealed or replaced and it was a nightmare getting them out because of that panel. I now set up a frame with 25x50 to support the undermount sink and make sure it can all be accessed from inside the unit, just in case🤞
I guess it's years of experience in doing things the hard way that makes you think about trying and easier one Arthur🤔Thanks, again, for watching and your comment 😎 Cheers
I used to do the exact same thing with those above fridge type cabs, probably most of us one man band do I guess! Some of them will still be there to one the ones where I did a full bulkhead and cornice to ceiling 😜 Stan the Stan stands for wall cabs above worktops 👍🏻. And some home made jigs for holding doors and panels. I used to do that same trick too with the Integrated D/w and fridge panels 👍🏻 Give it a real good smack off the concrete on the corner in the box… you get your money and the snagging / odd job man can fit it later…. I’m on to you Delboy! 😜😂
Great comment bud, and joking aside, I worked with some locker fitters a few years ago that would deliberately damage certain items towards the end of a job, knowing that it would be down to the remedial team to come along later and fit/finish it😵Thanks for your comment 😎 Cheers Del
I feel your pain with the damaged door. I fitted my neices kitchen recently and went through the same drama. Eventually got it sorted out. It's the inconvenience that's annoying. Keep the vids coming del. Brill as always. Cheers
Fortunately Brian, this job is no where near finished, but as you hint, can be a real pain if its a kitchen swap in a lived in house😬Thanks for watching😎Cheers

Hi tanks a lot for teaching us Bu why you don’t show us anything!!?? I have problem to fitting back side washing machine dishwasher and sink Exactly for water mechanism ❤❤❤❤
Good video cracking work one I like to do is put in rails above appliances just make a 150mm by 602 Rail normally just use a offcut from end panel so it's matching in with kitchen and kreg screw it in just find it keeps the gap consistent
That's a great way to set the appliance gap David, and coincidentally, this kitchen company supplies a 600mm shelf, drilled with pocket holes for exactly that👊Other than that I usually pin a bit of door stop front and back at the right to distance to position an end/divider panel👍I should really get a Kreg jig🤔Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Hiya TTC great video with so many instructions on how to put a kitchen together ...so please keep them coming GL&HC (GOOD LUCK & HAPPY CARPENTRY) (✌ peace✌) coming from Dulwich London England👍
Hi Matthew🖐Both the washing machine and tumble drier are free standing, but I have more kitchens to fit later in the year so I'll do separate videos on fitting appliance doors then👍Cheers Del
Fitted dishwasher always a worry. All dishwashers seem to last about as long as it takes to fit them. Mine is just a free standing 600. Good job because I am on my third in 15 years. I get lots of calls to pull out and replace the things. The fitted ones never seem to be direct replacements.
Which ever way you cut it Dave, it does seem that free standing appliances last longer than built in ones, and like you say, certainly easier to replace when the do go wrong👊Thanks for your comment bud😎Cheers
Hi Bob🖐I really don't like Howdens kitchens as I don't feel they represent value for money😬 other than that, I don't really have enough experience of other manufacturers to say one way or another🤔Thanks for you great comment 😎 Cheers Del
Hi Daleep🖐I have seen and used them bud, and they are a fantastic idea💡I think Wren kitchens include them in their fitting kit, and if I did kitchens more often, I would probably buy a load and use them all the time👊Thanks for your comment and for watching 😎 Cheers Del
Hi Del, just found your channel courtesy of Gosforth Handyman and love what you're doing. Kitchen fitting seems like witchcraft but you make it seem so easy. One thing I noticed was the dishwasher being only 450? Seems like a rather large kitchen for a slimline washer 😳 I do wonder whether the owner will wish they swapped the 150 pullout for a full size dishwasher (or maybe they like washing up)!
Hi there🖐The customers have made a few odd choices with this kitchen, and, as you hint in your comment, they must like washing up🤯Thanks for taking a look at my channel, and Andy at the Gosforth Handyman was really cool to give me a mention on his great channel🤩Cheers Del
Hi Tom🖐The end panels were tall enough for the cornice to butt into, but I followed the plan which showed the cornice running round🤔I queried with the kitchen supplier that it didn't look right, and he said, 'don't follow the plans Del boy'😵💫 Thanks for your comment😎Cheers Del
Hi Del just found your channel via gosforth handyman, now subscribed to yours also. Great work pleasure to watch, who is the manufacturer of that kitchen it looks a very nice build etc.
Hi David🖐and thank you for subscribing🤩These kitchens are not commercially available and are, pretty much, made to order by a small joinery company👍Thanks for your comment and for watching 😎 Cheers Del
I don’t know how you keep on top of the innovations that are introduced over the years since you did your apprenticeship. Do the kitchen manufacturers offer training/workshops or do you have to work everything out for yourself?
Hi Adrian🖐I my case, and due to fact I only fit a handful of kitchens a year, I just get up to speed with new things quite quickly as most times you just need to think logically about them🤔Thanks for watching bud 😎 Cheers
Thanks for another fantastic video. A question if I may? The electrician has fitted the sockets behind the integrated appliance. I’m worried the appliance may not fit as I’ve been told that the sockets should never go behind an integrated appliance as this doesn’t allow the appliance to go all the way to the back. Is this correct?
Hi there🖐Its highly unlikely that your integrated appliances will go all the way back if there is an outlet with a plug behind them😬We ALWAYS put the outlet/socket in an adjoining unit and feed the appliance plug/lead up into it👍Hope this helps😎Cheers Del
Hi Anne🖐It was really cool of Andy to give me a mention on his kitchen video🤗and it's great to have you here👍I just pick the Mitre Mate up at my local builders merchants, and I find it better than most I've tried👊Cheers Del
what would you recommend for fixing upper units to brick walls. My units have metal hanging brackets. What length of screw? Bricks are only so big. I wander why 2.5 inch is used? Overkill? Would a 5 mm screw in a red plug be ok?
Question for you, cupboard doors with soft close. They are supplied with rubber bumpers on the inside to cushion the close to the carcass - but they always come off. Do you fit specific ones, or glue them to the doors (or to the carcass itself?). Thought it might be something you've seen lots and might have some perspective on.
@@thetallcarpenter thanks for the reply Del. I’ve found them useless. Don’t want to glue them to the doors (seems drastic) but they just seem to wander after not much time rendering them useless.
@@jamesvaughan7274 I'm sure there must varying degrees of quality with these bumpers James, and the ones that I get supplied with my kitchens seem to stay stuck🤔
I know you said there's a tumble dryer going in that space is there a vent in the wall or is it a condensing dryer? I thought most condensing dryers now were piped up to the sink or a separate drain?
Hi Jas🖐It's a hybrid kitchen put together from different suppliers and manufacturers👍and is not actually available outside the kitchen company that's puts the packages together👊Cheers Del
Hi there🖐The carcasses are made by a small workshop in Northamptonshire, and I'm not sure where the doors are made🤔 It's not a commercially available package😬Cheers Del
