    I watched easily a dozen videos on the K1C, probably about half comparing to the K1. Yours was the only one that really nailed what counts, and that is the difference in print quality.

      I print large ABS custom toolboxes on my K1Max just fine. The C releases seem to me to be a marketing update. Gotta stay current, gotta get a machine out the door.
      However, the modifications made to the gearing would be welcome.

    • @redkingrauri3769
      @redkingrauri3769 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@mikestewart4752 yeah I just don't like the k1's door design and the qidi is cheaper with a heated chamber.
      Seriously the fact multiple people have had their k1/max doors shatter on them because they opened a little too far shows that thing is a massive design flaw.

  • @d0u8l3m
    @d0u8l3m 11 месяцев назад +16

    You should do a teardown of your extruder. Many other reviewers are finding that it's not actually all metal and all the gears are plastic. So, either the review units were quickly thrown together or Creality is lying through their teeth.

    • @johnlocke3481
      @johnlocke3481 11 месяцев назад +7

      They arent dumb enough to lie about a part that every user will quickly get eyes on. It was a marketing oversight. Right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

    My K1C arrived 2 days ago. I was super excited unboxing it and then I realised that there was no build plate. Now I have to wait for a build plate to arrive haha. Hopefully it'll get here on Friday so I can start using the printer this weekend. It's my first 3D printer so I have a bit of learning to do.

  • @Scout339th
    @Scout339th 10 месяцев назад

    I have the K1 Max and I still have some VFA's, but it's so much more expensive that I hope they offer an upgrade kit for it. If I can have a "K1C Max" as something I can do myself, I absolutely will. I expected it to be a little better since it was $900...

  • @RetroDaddyPH
    @RetroDaddyPH 7 месяцев назад

    The newer K1 did replace those large gears that cause the artifacting, the newer K1 also replaced the extruder gears with a better one (Shiny mirror finish extruder = old, less shiny = new design) (Still using the old hot end tho). The very few flaws remaining can actually be fixed by some basic 3d prints: Cable clips for the PTFE tube issue + risers for the top cover. So if anyone can get a better deal on the K1, I say just take it and make the fixes/upgrades yourself.
    This is my situation right now as the K1 is about $170 cheaper than the K1C, and the seller guaranteed me that the version of the K1 I'm getting is the most recent version.

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  7 месяцев назад

      That is a great deal, and if it does have the larger gears then it would be totally worth it

  • @JeffLarkin
    @JeffLarkin 10 месяцев назад

    I've been happy with the first prints from my k1c, but tonight I printed the side spool holder and discovered that my y appears to be wired up backwards. The part in the slicer has the text correctly, but the resulting part is mirrored over Y with the text and direction of the part backwards. Everything else I'd printed was symmetrical, so i hademt noticed it until now.

    From watching other reviews & tear downs the hotend is pretty bad & not a great update.
    Its not even a full hardened nozzle. Its copper with an insert. Bowden tube fix isnt great either as it has a sharp curve and has broken CF in other reviewers. It seems to be a side grade than an upgrade.

    Creality is continuing to just pump out partially finished printers and relying on consumer cash to test and revise their products. It doesn't seem like they could possibly have enough time to thoroughly vet and test the changes they make. Although its good they are making improvements, they are still just sniffing out what is the bare minimum set of improvements that will increase their long term sales. Fine, its a business. But they aren't innovating when they clearly could. Their incremental improvements that could have been determined in house are instead coming off the backs of folks who paid for gen 1.

    Mäh...The time of Creality is over. Low price and low quality is not what the market wants anymore. But this is the playground of Creality and so they won't make it into the future. No one wants to print hundrets of mods anymore to make the printer usable. They changed their company symbol to confuse the cusomers but that will not work as the quality is as bad as usual.

      Your right the build quality is almost 3-5 years behind where it should be it’s years spent cutting corners on experimental designs and selling flagship models with too many quirks, issues,bugs and more to even call it their top model I’d say this is they’re best attempt at fully enclosed FDM printer and I still find myself printing mods for it im switching to Bambulab after I buy one or two more printers for my setup.
