I remember in Yellow version, you could evolve Pikachu by trading it, as the restriction on using a thunder stone didn't apply to other players. My brother actually got quite upset at me for getting him a Raichu this way. Raichu wouldn't follow his character anymore.
@@flamingrubys11 no you couldn't evolve pikachu in the original. you had to trade it from yellow to red or blue where it would revert to a regular pikachu to evolve. sending it back to yellow as a raichu thus didn't matter anymore as the special programming on that pikachu was gone. hence it not following nor interacting.

I'm pretty sure the reason it loses its cry is because it still has the same form ID as the partner Eevee and there's no cry associated with the non-existent alternate forms of the Eeveelutions. Also, the reason it says it needs negative Exp. to level up (which you didn't address in the video but other people have pointed out) is because partner Eevee needs more Exp. to reach level 100 than regular Eevee, so when you evolve it, it has more Exp. than an Eeveelution should have at that level.
You should try hacking in evolutionary stones (if this is possible) in the beginning of the game, before eevee sits on your head, and see if anything different happens!
You are way too optimistic about that scenario. Just like with the Eevee on your head. Nothing would change in the cut scene because the Eevee is programmed to be there in the code and has special animations that no other pokemon besides the Pikachu in the other version is programmed to have. Its the same kind of logic with not having the Eevee in your party but it stays on your head. All the animations are programmed to have the Eevee (or Pikachu) there regardless of whether its in your party and or evolved, example being things like the surfing animations, they are basically just cut scenes. Most of this video was very predictable because no other Pokemon would be programmed to do these things that only the starter would be programmed to do these things.
That wouldn’t change at all. You could do this as soon as you start the game, or in your last few minutes of ever playing the game... it’s going to be the same outcome.

Eevee in game is level 100, which is 1,059,860 exp. The Melmetal is level 94, which needs 1,038,230 exp, it matches up. (not mine, that comment was wrote a bit above in the comments)

I honestly want there to be a part before the elite four where you have to choose an evolution stone to evolve your Eevee into Flareon or Jolteon. It could also be in Let's Go Pikachu, with the option to evolve your Pikachu into a Raichu or not.
One thing that you forgot to mention is that the Flareon battle was the only time that the models for both the pre- and post-evolutions of the partner Pokemon were on-screen at the same time (since the former stayed on the trainer's head and the latter came out of a Pokeball). So effectively a copy of the Pokemon was made upon stone evolution?

Plot Twist: Eevee didn't evolve, he became a Stand User. He stays on your hat while his Stand fights. In the Overworld, you can't see the Stand because you're not a Stand User. In a battle, you can see the Stand because you're technically playing as the Stand instead of your character.
Because they have different experience rates so Melmetal needs more Exp points to reach certain levels compared to Eevee, but since the Exp points are kept the same when evolving, when the game recalculates the stats the Level also changes.
So what happens is VERY MUCH like what happened if you force Pikachu to evolve in Yellow by trade, evolve it, then bring back, destroying the whole purpose of the Pokémon and game.
I think combos of any kind affect all Pokemon around you, I've gotten 2 shiny ratata when chaining for Nidoran with a combo of 200. So I'm pretty sure there's more to the odds than we all know from how many "random full odds" reportings there are

I think it's probably because Melmetal has a lower EXP Growth Rate than Eevee, and when it evolved it kept the amount of EXP rather than the level.

Seriously, this is getting creepier every day.
By now I'm used to getting ads related to things I talked about on the phone.
But I just *thought* that I'd really like to evolve my Eevee into Jolteon and there you are, showing up on my feed... 😂
(Fun fact - I'm playing Let's go Eevee while watching the video and I'm currently not only in the same city and the mall, but last time I also stopped playing at the exact spot you were starting at. 😂)
It did not want to evolve because it knew it would die you walk around with the corps of Eevee on your head but the sprint fallows you invisible to the naked eye

I honestly want there to be a part before the elite four where you have to choose an evolution stone to evolve your Eevee into Flareon or Jolteon. It could also be in Let's Go Pikachu, with the option to evolve your Pikachu into a Raichu or not.
No they should force the choice between all 8 Eevee evolutions. Gives everyone a hard time.

One thing that you forgot to mention is that the Flareon battle was the only time that the models for both the pre- and post-evolutions of the partner Pokemon were on-screen at the same time (since the former stayed on the trainer's head and the latter came out of a Pokeball). So effectively a copy of the Pokemon was made upon stone evolution?

I wish there was a way to re-rig each of the Eeveelution models to the player's shoulders or head. I could definitely try, but I'm not sure how it could even be used ingame or modded into the cartridge somehow. Vaporeon is my favorite pokemon, I would love a game where I could carry one around ❤️

When he evolvled it into the Melmetal it went back 6 levels
Because they have different experience rates so Melmetal needs more Exp points to reach certain levels compared to Eevee, but since the Exp points are kept the same when evolving, when the game recalculates the stats the Level also changes.

Guys, I got a random, full odds, shiny Doduo! My first shiny in Let's Go! No lure, no more than 10 combo on Ponyta! So hype!
I think combos of any kind affect all Pokemon around you, I've gotten 2 shiny ratata when chaining for Nidoran with a combo of 200. So I'm pretty sure there's more to the odds than we all know from how many "random full odds" reportings there are
