The freedom's actually a holdover from Red and Blue- in Johto they started clamping down on your freedom with things like the weird tree, but in Kanto you can skip around a fair deal, which is actually why they have the checks for gym badges before Victory Road.
Not that you mentioned, I remember getting to the victory road before the ending of the game, I thought it was so cool that you can cut a tree and get a shortcut.
No way! I actually tried this and I thought my game would break so I just started again, I can't believe someone else did it. I tried it in fire red but I forgot what happens. It feels much more real like this though since if Pokémon were real you could choose which gym to find first, like in the anime.
There's a Rom Hack of Crystal called Crystal Clear I think, wich lets you access all the Gyms from Kanto and Johto from the start, and the level of the teams of the gym leaders, wild pokémon and trainers rise up the more badges you have.
I swear tho, Half the legends be stubborn as hell. Mewtwo and Deoxys being 2 of em. Rayquaza is a pushover, caught Yveltal in 1 pokeball in my Y version... you get the message
@@LyraDemonesque In my most recent Emerald Playthrough, I caught Rayquaza in a Pokéball and Groudon/Kyogre in a Greatball just to "mock" them. (The rest of legendaries were caught in Ultraballs to mock them even more)
When I was younger I used like 50 dusk balls on Giratina and didn't feel like using the master ball so I threw a poke ball as a joke and it actually worked
In my original fire ref playthrough I somehow managed to skip lieutenant surge and got all the way to the league. Was very confused when I was told I didnt have enough badges to do the league lol.
Dude, this blind run through the cave reminded me of my gen 1-3 playthroughs when I was really young, didn't know english and had no clue about "Flash". I literally had every cave memorized up to gen3, lol
In my first Fire Red playthrough I didn't skip Gym Leaders, but skipped flash. I used a lot of repels and somehow went through without much problem. *Then I got stuck trying to beat the Elite 4, I couldn't do it and I gave up*

I did the rock tunnel in the dark for my first let’s go game save (eevee) and only found out about the secret technique for lighting things up after I beat the elite four (lost mewtwo and saved out of the cave bc I thought it respawned that way)
@@DrawciaGleam02 you can skip all the way in red and blue and possibly green. In fact at least in my leaf green play through I believe I managed to get the first two badges then go to kogas gym because I needed to be able to use surf and then I go as far as Blaine's gym for my fourth badge.
This reminds me how I accidentally skipped a gym (celadon city gym) and I wondered why all the pokemon are all over levelled I didn't realize there was a gym there
I happened to be doing this very thing out of curiosity yesterday, only my order is a bit different. I chose to explore as much as I can without confronting the major characters. My main concern is the obedience of my Pokémon after level 30.
@@lisahenry20 SwSh is the first game where there are obedience mechanics for your own pokemon, which I think is becuase of the wild area, where at the beginning of the game you could catch level 35 or so pokemon before the first gym. I don't know if the feature is also in BDSP or not. But your question is valid, since the first time they technically "removed" disobedience for your own pokemon is PLA...after over 25 years where that wasn't a thing
@@UltimateInnerSpirit I haven't played shsh, so I'm basing this off what other people have said, but apparently pokemon that have you as their original trainer will obey, no matter the level, and it's the case for all games. However, apparently certain moves don't work in raid battles and/or against dynamax pokemon (moves that are weight based or Berry related moves) which apparently has lead people to think a pokemon they caught was disobeying them.
That's nothing. In Pokémon Red and Blue, you can catch Mewtwo with only one badge. Hell, you can become the Pokémon Champion of Pokémon Yellow in less than a minute!
I used to do this in Fire Red to speedrun to Silph Co in order to get the pathetically low level 25 Lapras early in the game. The only hurdle is the battle with the rival immediately before the Lapras. You can basically do everything that isn't locked behind Surf. If you feel like it, Sabrina can be the 3rd Gym Badge as long as you grind well. Sequence breaking is really easy and satisfying in the first 2 gens. Kanto was always important to me because of that Lapras always being a uselessly low 25 for the time you're SUPPOSED to get it. Since I wanted to use it on my team for that particular play through, it was just a no brainer. You can even use the trick to not let the SS Anne set sail in Fire Red by not clearing all the trainers on the ship except your Rival, saving, returning to the Captain with only the $500 Magikarp in your party, learning cut, losing any battle to any trainer on the ship with your Magikarp, and being booted to a Pokemon Center, circumventing the ship leaving port. (You ARE REQUIRED to make it leave in order to progress to the Sevii Islands later in the game, though, unfortunately.)

I remember accidentally skipping Erika. I'd never played fully through Kanto before so I didn't know much about the Gym leaders and when I got to Giovanni I couldn't fight him as I needed her gym badge. I think her gym is blocked by a cut tree and I just never saw it until I looked it up
something crazy happened today at Pokémon let’s go pikachu, I was doing the chansey chain and a shiny snorlax appeared, then, I continued the chain and a shiny chansey appeared and when I left a shiny rhydon appeared in my face. I was shocked 😆
I caught Articuno with only 2 Gym Badges, and it was Level 50. I had to catch a nearby Dewgong to avoid taking too much damage from Articuno's attacks.
When I caught all of the legendary birds, when I was catching the last bird I was using great balls and ultra balls, then I ran out of them so I had to use regular poké balls! But on my first regular poké ball I caught it.. how?!?!-
It’s a cool idea, but the gyms are leveled so that they will only be fun to beat if you either play them in order or have an alternate low level team ready to go.
I remember playing heart gold and soul silver I beat the last gym and was like what? I only have seven badges. I traveled to every town until I realized I never saw the gym in one of them

This video has a ton of new strats that will bust the Professor Oak's Challenge for these games WIDE OPEN. The ability to skip every gym except the first two means that you can catch almost the entire Kanto Dex before your third badge. :)
Wait a minute, you're telling me that they remove the Pokemon Obedience in this game? If you only have two badges, then supposedly only up to lvl.30 Pokemon will obey you.
almost the same, you need to beat Koga to use Surf, and "unlock" Cinnibar island, and another badge (I don't recall the exact one, don't kill me) to use Strenght and catch Articuno, but using a glitch you can skip Brock that allows you to use Flash that is not necessary. So yeah only 2 badges in gen 1 to explore the whole region but a third one to catch Articuno.
My cousins first play through of this game he got blains badge fourth the only reason why he did this is because he wanted the fossils and I told him he needed surf so all he did till the fossils was try to get to cinnabar island

I got the Event Victini in White and despite multiple attempts to catch it in a "proper" PokeBall the only one that would work was a Net Ball.

I remember accidentally skipping Erika. I'd never played fully through Kanto before so I didn't know much about the Gym leaders and when I got to Giovanni I couldn't fight him as I needed her gym badge. I think her gym is blocked by a cut tree and I just never saw it until I looked it up
something crazy happened today at Pokémon let’s go pikachu, I was doing the chansey chain and a shiny snorlax appeared, then, I continued the chain and a shiny chansey appeared and when I left a shiny rhydon appeared in my face. I was shocked 😆

I caught Articuno with only 2 Gym Badges, and it was Level 50. I had to catch a nearby Dewgong to avoid taking too much damage from Articuno's attacks.
I really like how free roam the kanto region is in Let's Go after Cerulean.
When I caught all of the legendary birds, when I was catching the last bird I was using great balls and ultra balls, then I ran out of them so I had to use regular poké balls! But on my first regular poké ball I caught it.. how?!?!-

It’s a cool idea, but the gyms are leveled so that they will only be fun to beat if you either play them in order or have an alternate low level team ready to go.

3:17 the reason why pikachu is invisible its because if it dies you can’t play with it so you have to heal him for him to show up
Pikachu did not show up because he fainted. When he went to the pokemon center the pikachu got healed so it shows up once more.

This video has a ton of new strats that will bust the Professor Oak's Challenge for these games WIDE OPEN. The ability to skip every gym except the first two means that you can catch almost the entire Kanto Dex before your third badge. :)
Wait a minute, you're telling me that they remove the Pokemon Obedience in this game? If you only have two badges, then supposedly only up to lvl.30 Pokemon will obey you.

Good video but old news you can do this since red and blue in all Kanto only games
almost the same, you need to beat Koga to use Surf, and "unlock" Cinnibar island, and another badge (I don't recall the exact one, don't kill me) to use Strenght and catch Articuno, but using a glitch you can skip Brock that allows you to use Flash that is not necessary. So yeah only 2 badges in gen 1 to explore the whole region but a third one to catch Articuno.

My cousins first play through of this game he got blains badge fourth the only reason why he did this is because he wanted the fossils and I told him he needed surf so all he did till the fossils was try to get to cinnabar island
