I have seen Roxy Music in concert twice, and this song brings 'em to their feet every time. Lots of comments on Phil's guitar. Andy McKay on sax is brilliant. And.... Bryan Ferry is so friggin' cool.
To be honest - I've heard of Phil Manazera the first time. But I know a guy from Roxy Music with a very similar name call "Phil Manzanera". He is very well known
Ich war auch in allen Konzerten in Hamburg. Roxy Musik und Bryan Ferry. Love of mey live. 😉❤💋
Roxy was before my time..this song we never heard in America..but I did get into the Flesh and Blood record..I love ❤ their older stuff now..thanks for posting!
must be at least 29 yrs ago i saw him play at the Apollo Glasgow Scotland i seem to get older but he still looks same lol Music is still Best in my opinion :)

Fantastic performance..& very good edit (enhancement) of video. I've tried this kind of edit on the few downloads i've done....it's a lot of work & results in big file to download. Thanks.
Not heard his full catalog but I think this track and sound des it for me,check out the top of the pops one from the early 70’s pure class and nostalgic
I agree with Shan - 39 - that's thrity nine years Virginia Plain has been on vinyl! That's also 20 plus 40 for any band member!. Simply the best. Was this at the Apollo in NYC?
Yup all four originals were there (Eno excepted) / Ferry, Manzanera, Thompson on drums and Andy Mackay on Sax. Woz there on the first of two nights that were added to the end of the tour specifically for filming purposes. So good. Still awaiting the DVD of their brief 2011 tour when they played some less commercial, less well received tracks.
Engineer’s salary in Soviet at the beginnings after graduating from University was 120 - 140 rouble. Vinyl’s cost from 60 -120 rouble ...One Rouble cost 56 cents… U have 2B a real fun of music you listen.-)
sanitized, kareoke version of a classic...unbearable to me..I wish they would dump all the unnessasary shit...extra guitarist, backup singers extra keys, etc...Destroys the Roxy edge!...The only tracks that were really great from these gigs was Chance Meeting, Ladytron and F.Y.P.....Cant blame Eno for not wanting anything to do with this!

A life long fan that's me. God bless Roxy!
Love the energy & excitement this song evokes in the audience. Great as the first time..actually even better! POW Bryan Ferry. You knock me out!!!
Phil Manazera still remains one of the most overlooked guitarist
of all time.
If David Gilmore chooses you for the tour you cannot call him "overlooked"
Phil Manazera probably is one of the most overlooked guitarists of all time, Phil Manzanera is not.
To be honest - I've heard of Phil Manazera the first time. But I know a guy from Roxy Music with a very similar name call "Phil Manzanera". He is very well known
All's I have to say is 801 live!!
He's definitely 1 of the greatest!

I was in the 10th. Grade when the 1st, album came out. My friends thought I was weird except for one. We still ♥ Roxy ..
Don't overlook the magnificent Paul Thompson. Such energy, he is the backbone of all this.
Roxy was before my time..this song we never heard in America..but I did get into the Flesh and Blood record..I love ❤ their older stuff now..thanks for posting!
I heard it a long time ago as a Warner Brothers 3 LP sampler set with all kinds of artists new and old ... was blown away the first time I heard it!
Proper music proper band.

Paid month salary for the Roxy Music LP in Soviet Time. Still don't have a pity.
🤜
Huh?
Still one of the greatest synthesizer lines in the history of rock.
Phil's guitar sends shivers down my spine.
This is a really good version of their brilliant song.

@@charlesmoore1658 You call NoTeaBaggers numpty but his math on the years is correct.
Always nice...
FERRY IS the STUDIO54 OWNER STEVE RUBELL......MASTER OF THE RIGHT MIX-)
Vinyl LPs are consigned to the loft here, so I enjoyed RUclips offering.
Please don't let the LPs suffer such an ignoble fate. 😭
INNÉNARRABLE, 😊 !
Always great song, but the REAL Roxy played it MUCH better in the '70 s...
Yer a frakkin moron
Good but I prefer Vic and Bob's version.
Phil Manzanera looks like he's having a ball.
UNICO Bryan lo mejor hasta el día de hoy
Looks like original group member Phil Manzanera on guitar(?)

Patrick Weaver That's great! Didn't recognize Paul Thompson without hair!
The simplest and greatest synth solo ever composed!
Great big band
Brilliant
A big influence on the talking heads i would imagine!?

WHY THE CAST OF LOAD OF EXTRAS
Meine liebe steht im Grund
I wonder who the luscious blonde in the back with the maracas is.
Julia Thornton. Can you believe she's actually a harp player, she's great and she is a good percussionist. A Brigitte Bardot on the rocks!
David Byrne wanted sooooo badly to BE Bryan Ferry! The Talking Heads should have to pay Bryan royalties.
wow this blond chick is so beautiful
RL R gross
Julia Thornton is a babe and Ferry's girl at the time
