I don't get it - stereo output, but mono input? All of my synths creating those pads are stereo, my reverb-, delay- and overdrive-pedal is stereo, why would I want to reduce this stereo signal to a mono input ... just to get stereo back? I mean, it sounds great, I was considering buying it. But the mono input ruins it all.

@@g3cd you are correct. This unit fully mono. The L and R output have a phase difference. But it was designed as mono in the 70s and thats what was replicated here.

Would you recommend this phaser as a simple stereo spreading option as the last piece of gear in a master signal chain?

Hi. Is this pedal similar to the one that Richie Blackmore used on the Rainbow albuns? Thanks

Yes. Listen to Catch the Rainbow off the On Stage album, the quieter finger-picked part - that is the Compact Phasing A. Those only come up for sale EXTREMELY rarely, and will probably set you back $1500 USD. This Compact Phasing X isn't an exact clone, but you can think of it like that. Also, any mods that do exist are kind of legendary in their own right due to being designed by the late great Jurgen Haible.
