I feel like SMe hit the creativity jackpot with red velvet, the flexibility of their concept makes them an empty canvas that SM can fill with any creatives they have, they can make them into workers from the 60s,femme fatales, highschool girls ki lling each other to ballerinas.
They hit the jackpot having the 5 talented women fit the red velvet concept, the idea wouldn't be possible if they don't have the right tools
Their concept and the capability of all the members could have one of the best harmony in KPOP are just *chefs kiss*
everything about their music, vocal capabilities, and sm's creativity are because of these 5 talented females making all the elements cohesive.

I always notice this when producers or any musicians react to any SM songs, they love it.
@kurt I want to say that their groups are not as well known as for example BTS or Blak Pink, I even listened to BTS first but I didn't like them anymore, luckily I found in Super Junior and Exo something new that I liked because it was different now I like them all A As I got to know what the company produced, the point is that in my country if someone knows that one is listening to Kpop, then they assimilate that it is BTS only because they are the most famous.

not whole actually, more like 85% or 90% of it. there are paintings by monet, fragonard and morisot, among others, that were presented in the MV.

I love watching people who focus in every single detail not just the face, hair and outfit of the people in the mv. That's why I really like this channel a lot, I am learning so much from them.
Well, the aesthetic are also telling the story, I think the visual complements the song and that makes me want a channel what speak technally about it too.
In this particular case, the aesthetics have a lot to say. The bosco painting its about the garden of eden, the lyrics seem to support that

It's pretty nice, but at the same time a little disappointing, because I think that the visual experience is something very important in Kpop, especially in Mv's like this that is being told a story.
@@eveleein I don’t think oppachannel has a problem with that… They probably mean more so about people who focus on the superficial elements. Of course the visual and imagery side is important, but a lot of reactions are very surface level and will just say “oh pretty” “that’s creepy” etc etc without diving deep into details.
No matter how many idols may be using classical pieces in their song, red velvet always the best one out there. The one who started it with that beautiful melody.

Truthfully, this is the best Red Velvet song ever. So many layers, so intricately and meticulously composed and the lyrics blends so well with the mood of the melodies. Let's not talk about the mv. The visual is out of the world. Very quality produce from SM.
The layering is crazy and mind blowing. Like after watching that behind the scene recording then listening again to the song. The arrangement is genius and RV vocal techniques and ranges is out of this world.

Totally agree with Kevin. RV’s songs always have been somewhere between attractive melodic aspects and weird absurd harmonic aspects. Some songs like bad boy or psycho were perfect but some were like crazy psychic sounds like they lost their real identity which is that they are ‘songs’. This one def. has the musical core.
I feel like kevin said that mostly because he prefers bubble gum pop music. And fmr melody is quiet easy and familiar to follow, though the instruments is bizarre as always. It's RV anyway. So i totally disagree when only fmr has its music core.

The fact that this song doesn't fit on the popular kpop stans because is not a repetitive chorus with real catchy lyrics saying nothing lol 😭 red velvet have a complete variety of music genres and rhythms in their music but this comeback is another type of this, very interesting and feels like heaven to me.

I think that SM's success with "weird kpop" is that no matter how much a song changes it is still cohesive from second one.
SM is literally the pioneer of kpop. They know what to do with kpop music and how kpop supposed to sounds like!

What I love about SM Entertainment's girl groups is that their versatility is at the highest level than other kpop groups. They are not afraid to try different concepts hence, they were always willing to come out of their comfort zones to make high quality music. And this song made me stan Red Velvet (was only a casual listener of Red Velvet at first) I hope that it is not too late to stan them and will continue to make good music. I was able to hear them perform Feel My Rhythm live and it was breath-taking.
Red Velvet has always been experimental in the best ways. Love that they don’t sound like any other girl groups out there, including themselves in previous releases. They have the best discography IMO.

When we say Red Velvet is in their own lane, THIS is what we mean. This song is such a welcome beginning to spring. I love how it reminds me of Hello Future (Hello Baroque period), and how it’s elegant and pops hard at the same time. Two critiques:
1. I wish the song had a beautiful outro to tie everything together. The key change is amazing but it’s so short.
2. I wish this era lasted longer, rip 💀

Tomboy sounded fresh for this era what are you on.... Let's stop pitting idol groups against each other. Tomboy and Feel My Rhythm were two of the best releases this year

it's always so fun to be a red velvet fan, you never really know what they're going to give you next, but you know it's going to have that signature unique classiness. too often in modern kpop do companies try to make their artists' songs so different that it just ends up sounding like random samples thrown together. with red velvet, it's always unique, but incredibly polished

내용은 고전음악과 최신 사운드의 조합만을 이야기하는것이 아닌 욕망 그리고 대중성과 예술성에 관한 MV라고 들었습니다. 클래식을 KPOP에 녹인 곡들은 이미 존재 해 있지만 레드벨벳의 이 곡이 아주 괜찮은 타이밍에 적절하게 만들어진것 같아요. 학생들의 해석과 의견을 듣는 것이 아주 재밌었습니다.

I agree with Rachel that Feel My Rhythm is an instant favorite right out of the gate. It takes me a while to form an opinion on most of RV's songs, but this and Psycho are maybe the only two I didn't need even a second listen to fall in love with. As of right now, Feel My Rhythm is a Top Five RV song for sure.

first time i heard this song, my reaction was simply "this is genius" and i need validation from this channel. indeed now confirmed this is red velvet most genius song after psycho for me.
When you look at the details, you'll see how complex and interesting Feel My Rhythm is. There's Classical Music, Ballet, Theater, Painting, etc. in this one music video that is to fit the modern times and KPOP. GENIUS & PERFECTLY RIGHT FOR RED VELVET as they are the most experimental group ever imo. They nailed it! 🤯🤯🤯

Bridge starts prolonging vi of Db (not a complete key change but the harmony/color changes a lot), and then Joy's 2nd half of the bridge goes back to Db as the tonal center, and then the final chorus goes up to Eb! :)

When I first heard this song I was so confused prolly bc I felt that the mv is a bit overwhelming. Then they dropped the performance video and I was more confused bc the straight forward visual of the perf vid made me see the song on a different light, which I didn't expect. It's like I finally understand classical and Kpop.

I didn't realize that the video was done because I enjoyed everything!!! I don't have any knowledge about classical music much and I agree that the song is indeed cozy and it feels like it is a song you hear on a wedding day. Also when Kevin is explaining how the tempo did not change and the passing tone for the violin version reminded me of the red velvet first teaser that says calmato and capriccioso. So FMR is a mixed of both. Am i right? 🥺

I didn't really enjoy the song when I watch the MV but when I put on headphone and play it on Spotify it hit sooooo differently. Absolutely love it, not really into the rap part but overall I totally understand why Joy loves it so much and believes it to be the best RV song. It is indeed one of the best RV songs (and they have truly good and musically interesting discography).
