The Boston Celtics have assembled a superteam in the weak East this 2023-24 NBA season. They literally have an all-star starting 5 lineup featuring Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White. Tatum is the team's leading scorer, averaging 26.9 points per game last season. He is also a strong rebounder and passer, averaging 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Brown, another talented scorer, contributes 23.0 points per game. He is also a capable defender, averaging 1.2 steals per game. Porzingis, a 7-foot-3 center, provides the Celtics with a strong inside presence. He averaged 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game this season. Holiday, a veteran point guard, brings experience and leadership to the team. He averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season. White, a versatile guard, rounds out the starting lineup. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game this season.
I’m a Celtics fan. I’ll start with that. But this was such a wholesome championship run. People say we had an easy path but you can only play what’s put in front of you. All of the heartbreak through the years with this team (lately) has been crushing and I loved watching their resilience all year long. Every single player and staff member contributed enormously to this. JT and JB finally proving everyone wrong. (Tatum will still always be my favorite player, I’ve had his jersey since his rookie year before he played Bron in the ECF (unfortunately bought the Kyrie #11 jersey at the same time 😬)). Brown played like a dog all year long as all the talk was about whether or not he was Robin to Tatum’s Batman and then getting snubbed for All NBA (disgraceful), I’m glad he got ECF and Finals MVP. Al Horford winning is just incredible beyond words. Derrick White and Jrue Holiday deserve more respect on their names from now on. Porzingis, man, he brings the energy Boston needed. “Even the white guys” lmao, that’s an understatement, the whole bench did this too all the way down to Tillman who hasnt been here long AT ALL. And remember that it was Danny Ainge who drafted Tatum and Brown. Brad Stevens is GOATed, don’t @ me on that one. Mazzulla deserves more respect than everyone has been showing him. Mavs fan. I don't even feel bitter at all. 107 playoff games between Tatum and Brown, KP's success, great team bball. It was an honor to compete against y'all, the better team fair and square. Best wishes
Facts but Jaylen Brown hit the "clutch shots" in the 4th quarter so he "deserved it more" than Tatum. Smh 🤦♂️. Tatum averaged a near triple double in the Finals if you remove game 4 and played solid not great D while basically running the offense.
JT got robbed. JB was the best player in game 3 second half and that’s it. JT made right plays all series long. I’ll make a case for JH for MVP than JB. This is all media driven for sure. To be honest, JT deserved it, they won’t admit because it’ll take away the narrative. Now they’ll have something to talk about for a week. Watch them talk about this MVP for the next 7 days. He got robbed for sure. Points, Rb, Assists, and defense , what more do you need? You could see JB trying so hard today to outplay JT so that he can win the MVP and still couldn’t, but time and time again you saw JT passing to JB for open dunks and baskets.
Y’all realize that Tatum was not pushing for the MVP he was doing what’s best for the team draw the double team then pass the ball so get off his back now some off y’all is no different from the media
I’ve been a Boston Celtics fan since 1990 when I was 13 years old. My sister bought me a green starter jacket with the hat to match. There were some lean years but now I got to witness them winning 2 chips in my lifetime. With this core they should get 1 or maybe 2 more.

This Celtics team brings me back to watching the NBA. Why? Because of their faith and unity in God. Truly an inspiration to a lot of fans. Head coach Joe Mazzulla is amazing leader…never a doubt!
Al n Jrue was the glue, Derrick white n KP had superstar player moments, Jaylen n Tatum bought into doing it together and taking the load of each other and the others filled in the blanks in the foundation
Shoutout to GM Brad. When he moved off the bench into the front office, there were a lot of doubts. Bringing Al back, acquiring DW, KP and jrue will cement him in Boston sports history. IN BRAD WE TRUST
jB won as game, was clutch.. well i would say coz of tatum too.. unfortunately the mavs doubled jayson too much… causing him decrease in % shot… JB was lucky to capitalised on it.. it is what it is.. jb just looks more efficient than him… those important defenses and blocks during clutch times
Agree. Tatum played the GAME and even though his scoring wasn’t there this team would not be were it’s at if JT didn’t have the maturity level to play the way he did. I’m prior years Tatum would’ve thrown a tantrum and they would’ve loss. JB played a hell of a series but he was in that position due to JT’s play.
Not sure which series were you watching but not all first 4 games where bad for Tatum: Game 1 16 5 11 (Porzingis game) Game 2 18 12 9 (Holiday game) Game 3 31 5 6 (Brown 30pts) Game 4 (lost on purpose) Game 5 31 11 8 Brown deserved thay MVP but to say Tatum didn't play well in all first 4 games is a stretch.

@@coreyhoward1706 Kobe was a great player. He'd have made a good Celtic.
Congrats 🍾 to the Celtics 🍀
I wanted Luka and kyrie to win but these Celtics was way too deep!!!! Great job 👏🏼
You're a class act!
Been a fan since '09. So happy for the Celtics. This is a great crew
Ime Udoka is punching the air right now
They play it against a weak team. It wasn't the warriors, they know better
@@jessiehamilton3808 bud they just won the chip 🤦🏽♂️
@@jessiehamilton3808weak team? i thought the Mavs are the favorites? any team in the west will win the Finals? you all said the East is trash right? what now? 🤣
@@Gurenn83 he’s punching the air right now as we speak
Not necessary to say that. He at least took them to a finals
The real MVP is JRUE "FUKIN" HOLIDAY!!!
👍💯
Cute
I agree
Brad Stevens for me
He was the missing piece. Some players are just made for the big occasions. Ice cool under hottest moments. Jrue Holiday.
Now, ALL the off-season narrative is going to be the sports media pitting Jaylen Brown against Jayson Tatum and who's better, and whose team it is.
Hasnt that been the narrative every year that they didnt win it? Now they proved that they win together. Doesnt matter whose team it is.
Not really cuz look who played better in the final game …
Both of them knows which is better and it don't bother them, they both know they're better together and it shows. The media could try but they are already aware of that so I don't think the media could get between them anymore.
@@ValentinoStuartexactly so true well said ✌️
Ayyyyy congrats Boston, my friend was psyched up seeing his favorite team win it all, congrats to all Boston Fans enjoy this, the 16 year wait is over, Boston is once again a city of Champions.
Jrue Holiday is the best defensive player in the league hands down! The way he contained Kyrie made the difference in the series.
Brad Stevens is a genius. I hope they make a movie about this dude and his thought process.
I'll say this RIP to all these Celtics Legends Bill Russell, Sam Jones, John Havlicek, Red Auerbach, K.C. Jones, Bill Sharman, Frank Ramsey, Larry Siegfried, Bill Walton, Jim Loscutoff, Jo Jo White, Tommy Heinsohn sadly a lot of Celtics players have passed away over the years this is for them.
"Banner 18 ain't a dream, it's a can't miss!" That one Celtics song from 2010 I think
From Toronto. But my first team was Boston back in the bird days always been my second team .congrats to the city of Boston.
KP has more rings than Luca
Luka still younger and isn’t on a stack team like KP was. Luka will get there soon. Baby steps.
@@Antbeast23 Lmao okay my friend wasn't the Timberwolves stacked and they beat them....Hold this L
Javale McGee has more rings than KD 🙄
Jrue Holiday has more rings than his former teammates, Giannis and AD.

Congrats Celtics. Yall deserve it champs playing as a solid team☘️ So happy for JB7 for his FMVP💪
Brown’s acknowledgment of Tatum is just wonderful
Well, this championship will never be forgotten for many thousands-- I mean, millions of Boston fans watching this moment.
I'm a fan of american basket-ball from Senegal West Africa.I congratulate this wonderful team of Boston Celtics. They really deserve it.long live basketball❤
This guys uploads are quick
Mavs fan. I don't even feel bitter at all. 107 playoff games between Tatum and Brown, KP's success, great team bball. It was an honor to compete against y'all, the better team fair and square. Best wishes
WE DID IT BABY!!☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️💚💚💚 16 long years. 6/17 is Celtics day🥹💚☘️
JT had better all around stats and deserved finals mvp.
Facts but Jaylen Brown hit the "clutch shots" in the 4th quarter so he "deserved it more" than Tatum. Smh 🤦♂️. Tatum averaged a near triple double in the Finals if you remove game 4 and played solid not great D while basically running the offense.
The right person won the MVP... Boston strong 💪🏾... Tatum will get his tern.. Need more work this off-season
@@ndaboolivier5127JB had 1 off game this series. Tatum had mutliple. JB deserved it plus lockdowning Luka n who ever on the other end
TATUM WAS INCONSISTENT ,WHOW could you say that he was robbed.
@@ndaboolivier5127jb was the best player in this series maybe not tonight game. He literally shut the best player in this series luka.
Big Up KP mein been fighting injuries and to come bck and win a chip mein….Well Done KP
I’ve been a Boston Celtics fan since 1990 when I was 13 years old. My sister bought me a green starter jacket with the hat to match. There were some lean years but now I got to witness them winning 2 chips in my lifetime. With this core they should get 1 or maybe 2 more.
Jayson Kidd's words cametrue,
Jaylen Brown is their best player 😂
Jason Kidd is dumb. He didn't even double Brown the whole series.
Good for Horford finally he really deserved it God bless him
Greatest Franchise In Sports History!!
Shout out to the Boston Celtics and the Godfathers. Red Auerbach and William "Bill" Russell #18☘️☘️☘️
Jalen brown and Tatum’s duo. The new Batman and robin
Nah, its batman and superman..
Man I’m happy for these guys it was bittersweet because I’d like to see guys on both sides win
5:27 “you got it next year big dog”
Nah gsw coming back
@@AmigofixWith their 40 year old trio? Their non existent defense? And a team that can barely shoot?
"If it wasnt for the fans we wouldn't be here" That is a true statement....look at the WNBA...much respect for the everyday Joes who spend their hard-earned money on tickets and merch so this league can exist for moments like this...Congrats to Al Horford and one of the best overall starting 5 I have seen in my lifetime as a Cs fan NUMBER 18 BABY
WE HAVE WON BANNER 18!!! ☘️☘️☘️
IT'S SO DIFFERENT HERE!!!!
Adam Silver is def a shapeshifter 😂
This Celtics team brings me back to watching the NBA. Why? Because of their faith and unity in God. Truly an inspiration to a lot of fans. Head coach Joe Mazzulla is amazing leader…never a doubt!
KP sitting like boss ❤ Well deserved 🎉🎉
3:25 when they all yelled drueeeee.. that gave me.
Chills 😊
Brown n Tatum should both been mvp co mvps
Al n Jrue was the glue, Derrick white n KP had superstar player moments, Jaylen n Tatum bought into doing it together and taking the load of each other and the others filled in the blanks in the foundation
We did it the most winning NBA franchise in the NBA beat that Lakers.🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Just another title for title town.
Bro this just feels so surreal I still can’t believe it it doesn’t feel real
Drew now forgot the Bucks letting him go. This is amazing
...Giannis cried out loud...
Did you mean, JRUE??? 🙄😝😅
@@jeffreybacani-zy6flso he been calling him Drew Holiday all this time?! 😂
Shoutout to GM Brad. When he moved off the bench into the front office, there were a lot of doubts. Bringing Al back, acquiring DW, KP and jrue will cement him in Boston sports history. IN BRAD WE TRUST
Unreal roster. Not sure how they did it, or how they're under the cap
Tatum should’ve won Finals MVP. He played great team ball. Not hating though. Congrats to the Celtics
1 Dominicanan republic born with a championship in the NBA thx jesus. happy 4 him Harford 😊 activo desde allentown pennsylvania durisimoooo
JB - 20.8 ppg 5.4 rpg 5.0 apg
JT - 22.2 ppg 7.8 rpg 7.2 apg
How did JB got the mvp trophy? Just askin.
jB won as game, was clutch.. well i would say coz of tatum too.. unfortunately the mavs doubled jayson too much… causing him decrease in % shot… JB was lucky to capitalised on it.. it is what it is.. jb just looks more efficient than him… those important defenses and blocks during clutch times
He got that dawg in him. JB defended Luka tremendously all series long. He had more impact on the outcome of the game than JT did.
Media Narratives
If you really are watching the series, not just looking for stats, you'll know why JB won the FMVP.
Most of the money must have been on Tatum
its so beautiful to win and present the champ trophy at your home, celtics dont need superstar to win this series but a true heart and patience
I mean yh tatum wasnt scoring well for the first four games but he did damn near everything else lol but Brown was terrific.
The media asked Scalabrine whos the most important player and he said that all teams plan their defense to take out Jason Tatum.
Not sure which series were you watching but not all first 4 games where bad for Tatum:
Game 1
16 5 11 (Porzingis game)
Game 2
18 12 9 (Holiday game)
Game 3
31 5 6 (Brown 30pts)
Game 4 (lost on purpose)
Game 5
31 11 8
Brown deserved thay MVP but to say Tatum didn't play well in all first 4 games is a stretch.
@@DF-de8ibMost NBA fans are obsessed with shooting. That's why they make excuses for Luka's poor defense and whining about fouls that don't get called.
