- BIG things are happening with God of War. A live-service God of War game has been cancelled, but a new leak suggesting the next mythology of God of War has been revealed... We are diving deep into God of War's past, looking at clues that pinpoint the next several mythologies that are likely to hit the franchise, along with how this new leak fits in with the hints of previous God of War games. Ya it seems a shame to scrap some of the relationships they built. If kratos can travel realms so should others be able to. Tyr traveled all others. Mimir has zero reason to just be stuck somewhere without a body. He belongs with kratos. The only question is they have to give him a reason to exist without being an exposition dumper in a land where he isn't smartest man alive. Its interesting to say the least. But I'd be upset if the was gone though.
Hel yeah! I'd also like to see see Kratos keep the Leviathan Axe and Draupnir Spear, but starting with a Khopesh in GoW 6. Just saying
@mikael5119 hell nah the blades are still a must. Far more fans than just you still value those. They are probably staying. Most likely the spear will be dropped because of brocks blessing. Its job is done no longer need it. To honor the lore it makes most sense for that one to be gone. The axe and the blades will most likely return with the third slot being for the Egyptian weapon. Because its hard to let go or beat the feeling of the axe recall.
if they include mimir, I think that they'd end up utilizing some way to kill him for character development... I'd like to keep believing he's just at Kratos' Cabin in Midgard back home drawing or writing with an ink and quill in his lip... I don't think I could take mimir dying at some point
I would have loved it if they did Celtic mythology since many games haven't gone that route.
Exactly what I was thinking,it'd work so well too cause Celtic mythos heavily links with Norse mythos, cause I mean there both paganism 🤷🏻♂️

@ The idea of a Spartan meeting a fellow disciplined warrior like the Samurai just sounds epic to me.
Plus, the Japanese Kami may be a different encounter for Kratos, since the Japanese are often about inner peace as well as fierce combat

Great video, the one mythology I'm most interested in is Japanese, it's so rich with gods, beasts, enemies and myths, it's amazing, in Týr's vault there are many things from other lands, like a summerian clay tablet for example, but there's a mythology that is often not brought up, the Slavic, the channel God Of War Geek discovered that in God of war 2018 there are many idols from slavic gods (Sventovit, Perun and what I think is Veles) close to the ancient Jotnar maket, around the area where you meet Brok for the first time, and in the Idols of Sventovit (the war god of the polabian slavs) there are things wrote in runic, saying that he was the "former ruler of midgard", which is so interesting for me, Atreus says that the Jotnar maket is where gods and giants used to trade in the past, it's possible that the slavic gods and the giants were not enemies, and it's possible that this happened in a time so ancient, that not even the Aesir were around, but now these gods are gone, and we don't know where nor why... and not only that, around the area is also celtic imagery too, and the same happens in Niflheim in GOW Ragnarok, most if not all the carvings on the walls and columns are from pictsh and irish origin, which means that the celtic gods are also somehow linked to midgard, which is mindblowing for me.
i'd love a god of war game in egypt before the norse saga. could clear up plotholes and make clear tranistion between the og games and norse saga. maybe a hack and slash again? or another system apart from the norse saga, like a prince of persia style.

The spear of sure it's not gonna be present in the next game. As Brock said "may this weapon strike true, may it be wielded with wisdom, may it be PUT DOWN when its job is done."
I think the Axe will eventually go to Atreus but the spear will stay. The spear is Kratos' personal godly weapon forged for him with his blood. The blessing implies he will get rid of it, but that would be such a step backwards.

It makes sense for God of war to go to Egypt. Greece and Egypt are forever linked thanks to the Greeks taking over Egypt(That's why people got so mad when they made Cleopatra black instead of of Greek ancestry like she is ).So with the fall of the Greek pantheon, the Egyptian one can rise back to power, and hopefully it involves kratos going to save atreus from all of that shit.
Or because of all the Celtic mentions throughout the last two God of war games, the symbol you showed, as well as the horse we had to ride when we made the javelin in Ragnarok. It would make sense if atreus went that way because I'm convinced the game is going to have something to do with saving atreus

I believe one GOW game will be a Atreus (Loki) spin off in Japanese mythology while Kratos will eventually go to Egypt to save atreus after he is captured by its Gods
I will bet that Sindri is the villain! He will go to Egypt and make them think hes a God and capture Atreus to punish him for everything revolving around him. We will not know Sindri is the villain until a very late reveal. Sindri probably being the most powerful being in the God of War universe. Sindri will be trying to make Atreus suffer by taking everyone he loves from the universe.

Before we get a new GOW they need to fix the camera and puzzle mechanics of the new GOW. The fighting, gameplay, and effects isnt bad but there need to be a floating camera option instead of forcing a decapitated head on your ass to warn you of incoming attacks. Also their needs to be more enemy types instead of biped. Floating eyeballs and dogs are not going to cut it. At least with old GOW there were medusas, gorgons, minotaurs, harpies sirens, reavers, satyrs, wraiths, etc, this new gow is lacking maybe its creative block or viking lore is limited. A greek saga remake sounda like an ambitious project and i second it will be a hit if they pursue a remake just for the challenge of the enemies alone, but i hope they use the Terrence Carson or more specifically the GOWIII model if they go this route. GOW I and II have softer feautures but wont have as much visceral impact.

I thought he already went to Egypt once when you fight some Anubis Pharoah hounds. Maybe not. Either way, in Ragnarok, Kratos hinted that there was much to do and much to rebuild. The way he cried after seeing his mural at the end can only mean he intends to rebuild everything he destroyed or that was destroyed by other Gods. Therefore, it can also only mean he will go back to his homelands. With this video it could also mean that we will use realm doors to travel between countries to destroy other gods and/or rebuild the lands they inhabit. Maybe we'll meet Jesus or God himself. Who knows?

I know I would love that. They could in some ways be similar to the Greek gods that Kratos came from, but also different (i.e. how Mars and Ares are depicted completely differently). He could also fight some of Rome’s more unique gods like Mithras, and maybe even some proto-Christian angels or demons. Could be cool.

I just wanna see Kratos jump and a better dynamic camera and no Atras or Loki or whatever. More weapons, more action, I don’t know why the game developers seem to wanna interject their own personal situation or experience into the game. What matter most in a medium is gameplay that is what a game is about the interaction between player and game now sit through Most of the game through cut scenes and dialogue that just killed the two games replayability.

so much potential with different mythologies. We can keep going for another 30 years with god of wars. Of course there has to be a meaningful story told with a purpose or otherwise it would ruin the franchise. Kratos's character arc is pretty much finished so I would think the future GOW's should revolve around Atreus.
I honestly feel like they should just stop. Kratos has finally redeemed himself for his past crimes and has proven to be a great father. Why does he need to slay another pantheon?

In the Mayan and even in egypt i think and belive can be very good and very cool but i also know it will depend on the delivery ...I think they want to continue in a good way with most People who love god of war for what it is then after ragnarok being to me very good at combat etc the rest was a mess saved by some MiMir talks😂and characters like Brok ..So after that delivering a cool experience like valhala it showed they can still create a singular experience even enbolving other characters ...Ragnarok was a mess and personally the whole package side by side Gow2018 is a masterpice where evrything combined to the final moment Ragnarok is a bad collage of ideas half cut half done mixed with a few finished...Combat was very good tho graphics very good and some characters are obviously well writte just put in the middle of a shitty story.

@cyberwolf5787 The type of language they decided to come up to actually good characters like Odin completely shatter the good ideas they had for the character for example...The way they introduced Thor Odin to kratos even tho i understand the idea it came out also very poor i could literally go on since there was so much dude....It ended up looking like a bad tv series most People can freely acess on open channels..This is the reality.
I CAN GIVE THE FLOWERS WHERE THEY DESERVE IT THO..And you will se the difference in someone who is talking with thought and notion contrary to someone who just wants to criticize is not my case..Combat to me is very good and worked on top of what they built in 2018 that to me is a plus also level design also improved by you being able to move up and down they were able to explore my ideas or introduce new mechanics but that's it dude..Compared as a whole experience side by side with gow2018 looks a few many shades down to be honest...2018 was a well written and well craft story that combined evrything in the right amount the absolute contrary of Ragnarok...Ragnarok was the whole game creating expectations on you for that final moment, for it to just be meh meh meh...real facts...
But also not evrything is perfect in 2018 they made a few mistakes such as repetitive patterns enemies etc but having in mind it was the first on a new concept new idea new story still is far beyond what they delivered next..Facts 100%
