Fun Fact: In Dishonored 2, Clockwork Mansion, the rooms don’t just impossibly rearrange themselves either. Each part uses a real functioning mechanism and there is no geometry overlap. All time favorite is the Mass Effect 2 suicide mission, one of the very few missions where almost anyone in your party can die if you make the wrong choices. I was a shaking wreck when playing through blind first time.
ME2 was so good with one of the most impactful decisions in the trilogy. If you took to long preparing the ship, your human crew would be turned into paste to feed the reaper but if you rushed in without doing any upgrades your alien allies could die during the approach. I miss this Bioware.
ME2 is SO GOOD. When I got through the Suicide Mission with the team intact, I actually cried a little bit. I honestly feel the same way about the ending battle in Veilguard, everything you do leading up to the end game play out in the final battles, and things as simple as a bit of dialog early on come through in the end. It’s a shame more people didn’t play though the game.
I was honestly shocked this wasn't on the list, most of the levels on here I either hadn't done or I never really thought about again, but man the Suicide Mission was just astounding.

(Don't Fear) The Reaper, the secret final mission of Cyberpunk 2077, is one of my all-time favorites. Taking down Arasaka Tower by yourself while you're slowly dying to go out in a blaze of glory as a Night City Legend was so awesome.

I loved the "All Ghillied up" mission from the original Modern Warfare. In the remake, the "Safe House" mission was really impressive. The "Night of long fangs" in the Witcher 3 blood and wine expansion was pretty good too.
“Straw Meet Camel” from Spider-Man (2018) is still one of the very best levels in the entire game. Granted, the level design was not fantastic in the game, but the escalation of conflict through the Fisk construction site, all the way up to the helicopter on the roof, and immediately following it up with one of the most insane QTEs, AND a ridiculous helicopter chase (that also ends in an utterly badass QTE) is one of the most adrenaline pumping levels ever, and I smiled ear to ear through every second of it. "Titanfall 2: Effect and Cause" is such a good one. The game itself is already making you feel like a super soldier, hoping from wall to wall, taking out anyone you see in seconds, all while moving. But Na, that's not enough. Let's ad TIME TRAVEL where you fight beasts of the future and the Enemies of the past. All while doing psrkour and gun fight BETWEEN TIME. It's incredible
Skyrim crossing the mountain to see Whiterun is one of the most memorable moments for me visually (and also Sovngarde). It was a reminder of playing Halo for the first time. Gameplay levels? Idk, man. I've mostly been an RPG fanatic my entire life. I could list dozens. To avoid that I'm just going to give the nod to the original Halo. All the levels. ALL of them. Skyrim and Halo. GOT is such an awesome game! Absolutely loved it. I was super sad when it ended. Like I knew I wasn’t going to be able to play a game like that for a very long time in terms of quality 😫
For me, music always plays a big part for me. Sets the whole vibe/tone. The Mass Effect series always did an amazing job with it. Another moment that comes to mind is the first time you have a real flashback of Johnny Silverhand in combat and he's headed down the stairwell plugging Arasaka security guys and The Rebel Path Cello version starts playing. I'm sad I'll never get to experience that for the first time ever again.
The moment I read the title and the first thing that came to mind is the Ashtray Maze from control. It is undoubtedly the most original, epic and mesmerising gameplay moment there is
Honestly that was as good level in 2004, same with the Ocean House Hotel, it creeped me out as a teenager and it was a cool level. The character's that give you that quest though, that was as sad story for those two women.
That game was my introduction to the series... To this day, the line: "They don't know I can hear them!" referring to the psychic chatter of those Keeper hunters to this day sticks with me. I was like, "Wait, how _can_ you hear them, Garrett?" 🤣
@ Right! That made me pause when you heard that line. If I remember right it was after the Keeper(?) library was attacked by a hag disguised as a kid you have been working with the whole series to that point. I think it implies that Garret was on the path to becoming one of those hunters. Or it's hidden in some journal entry. Damn now I think I really should try and finish the fourth game.
@shortyipper I found out later that in one of the previous games he was initiated into the Keepers but later left them. That's why he could hear their psychic chatter.
That Wolfesnstein level..! My god. Remember playing it over and over, getting ticked until realized it wasn’t just me. Tons of people found it difficult
There are two from Starfield I think are worthy of note. 1. Entangled, an easy to miss mission that takes you back and forth between alternate realities. 2. Kryx's Legacy, specifically the part where you're investigating the high security prison known as The Lock
The opening level of Super Metroid is seared into my mind; the way the level tilts and shudders, with the self-destruct timer counting down as you evacuate, is perfect. The way Retro Studios resurrected that opening level in Metroid Prime is awesome also. Modern Warfare 2007 took cues from both Metroids and made its opening level the same way.
Can't believe no one's talking about the intro of radahn in the base game and the whole arena and the level surrounding it, shi was amazing and so badass.
It isn't a "level" per-se, but Metroid Prime 2's Sanctuary Fortress is my favorite zone or area in the entire Metroid series! Best tech aesthetic, best boss fights in the game in Dark Samus 2 and Quadraxis, fun platforming, grapple swinging, morph ball puzzles, even the Screw Attack in its 3D Metroid debut! Such a great area, not without fault, but so good it outweighs any complaint I'll ever have. Badass music too!
I knew nothing about RE 4 or who the hell Mike was but I genuinely teared up after the 30 seconds he was there. I think it was the pain in Leon voice yelling “MIKE!!!” just made me spiral thinking they were best friends and new each other on a personal level. It was some “first 5 minutes of Up” type shit
Ace Combat 7: Mission Lighthouse Starts off with a massive dogfight with several allies and former enemies working together. After a certain point, the dogfight ends with the arrival of an Arsenal Bird, a huge, flying drone carrier with numerous AA and emp weapons. As you try flying behind it, over a hundred Gen 6 drones are picking off your allies and gunning for you. I legit listen to the Crazy Train remix they used for Anthem’s trailer as I do this mission. It’s so fun in VR too.
I probably spent more time in that court room in Wolfenstein than I did in the rest of them game on the hardest difficulty. Before the cutscene was over, it felt like I'd already been shot.
Probably niche but in Sniper Elite 4 the Deathstorm DLC missions, the final one Deathstorm 3: Obliteration was masterfully made. Its a bit polarizing in the fan base though, its not a huge map and a lot of obstructions so long range sniping is difficult to pull off. Its dense with buildings and in my first attempt turned into R rated Home Alone with moving from house to house setting traps and getting in gunfights. You do all that and get to the bunker thinking the mission is about to be over only to exit to the biggest ambush and be told the exit is on the other side of town, so back through the streets and houses you go now with tanks and armored soldiers with heavy weapons. For me it was the perfect level/mission to end with.
“Boarding Party” from Uncharted 3 from beginning to end is an amazing action sequence. From chasing the cruise ship jumping from boat to boat during a storm, to when the ship turns on its side and you’re trying to get out.
Halo Reach’s ending where you are holding off all the Covenant in an endless mode until you are overwhelmed was both badass anxiety inducing and depressing because our character has no possibility of surviving.
There is a lot of good comments here, like the Ashtray Maze in Control and ME2's Suicide Mission, which jumped to mind immediately. I would like to also add the finale of Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1's ending (really the entire Virmire-Ilos-Finale run), and Dragon Age Inquisition's Arbor Wilds mission.
Some Iconic video game levels to me are Cod's No Russian & the mission in the cabin before Shepard's betrayal can't remember its name. Challenging Red at Mt. Silver in Pokemon Silver & climbing the tower to meet Raquaza. In DMC that one level inside a monster entrails is the whole level. FF16 vs the Titan. Blighttown in Dark Souls very good & creepy level for me. RDR2 climbing the mountain in the end was iconic. Halo's first flood level. so many too remember
Destiny 2’s Whisper of the Worm was so iconic that they spent the next 8 years tying to replicate that experience in all the exotic missions that came after. The remake they released of it last year was such a nostalgic vibe
No Uncharted 4 chapter 9? You go from puzzle belltower climbing/crashing part, to a shoot out in the middle of a market, to a city car chase, to dangling from a rooe on a crane dragging yourself to an on vehicle-hopping shootout and culminating in gunning down an amored truck while in a motorcycle. Peak cinema style/worthy acrion sequence there
Disappointed to this day that we only got to play as Venom once while being voiced by such a bad ass actor. Yet we got multiple moments to play as MJ and that one deaf chick having her own side mission. I remember seeing people cope about it claiming it felt more special that he was playable once as if we haven't gotten to play venom in other games Ultimate Spiderman on the Ps2 being one of the best.
The Wonder Tower climb in "Batman: Arkham City." It just feels absolutely epic as a culmination of everything up to that point, with overhearing the villain's chatter on the radio, and overlooking the entire city-prison that you've been conquering throughout the game.
Pripyat mission from first Modern Warfare and Ocean House Hotel from V:TM Bloodlines. Many, maaaaany games later I still remember those two like it was yesterday.
If it was not mentioned to prevent spoilers, that's understandable, but the ending of the courtroom escape shoot-out being what it was is why the level is so heartbreaking.
God of War 3 climbing Mount Olympus. Just casually fighting Poseidon while riding a Titan to fight Zeus and killing Helios along the way. That's literally the start of the game and it just shows you the true power of Kratos.
A notable mention suggestion I would add and not necessarily a mission per se is when you ride home on the horse in, Back To Shady Belle in RDR2 and the song "Unshaken" is played. Truly one of my most memorable moments in gaming.
my nominations for 10 more badass video game levels is gonna have to be Chronos from the OG God of War, Suicide Mission from ME2, the new and improved Xen in Black Mesa, The Wedding in Sleeping Dogs, and the final mission, Halo, in Halo 3. I still remember these vividly to this day. Oh and the Estate in OG Modern Warfare 2, where the team gets betrayed by Shephard. I mean you can't forget that one, its ICONIC.
Crysis had one of the most amazing levels I've ever played, Assault. Starts with being dropped next to a bay with a battle in progress, an F35 gets shot down in front of you, just dropped into a chaotic battle. You are tasked with taking out 3 Anti Air emplacements and eventually painting a docked NVA Cruiser for an Airstrike. The mission starts of just before dawn and really showcases just how beautiful the game is, and how far ahead of its time it really was
No offense, but this video is seriously lacking some heavy hitters. Where's the level from Control? The music sequence from Alan Wake 2? And the end-level in Far Cry Blood Dragon is just legendary.
Max Payne 3's police station level was something that gave me an action hangover for a lifetime. That whole sequence was one of the most action-packed badass game levels ever.
Why haven't you guys made a video about the new RPG from the original developers and writer of the Mass Effect trilogy called Exodus? It looks like it could possibly be the Mass Effect successor that we need. I'm amped about that game.
@ Well, are YOU really going to be "that guy?" What is there to even make video about? The game isn't out, the release date isn't announced either. There are few trailers and that is about it. That is just not what this channel does.
@Jackrazorus Bro, what are you talking about? I've been watching this channel for years, they talk about games with no release date and at least one trailer all the time. The game has a full gameplay trailer that's 2 minutes long, a decent amount of videos and shorts about the lore and by them being fans of the original trilogy, I know that they would be interested in it. Which is why I find it strange that they haven't talked about it yet. Hence, the question. 🤦🏽♂️
What's this list? No Far Cry 3 burning weed. No Splinter Cell level. No Ezio flying. No Pax Roman. No Battle of Bunker Hill. No bourning boats in Costantinople. No Control maze?

Skyrim yes! Haven't played Halo but I've been thinking about it. But I have to ask as a WoD fan, where is the Ocean House Hotel from VtM: Bloodlines??
GOT is such an awesome game! Absolutely loved it. I was super sad when it ended. Like I knew I wasn’t going to be able to play a game like that for a very long time in terms of quality 😫
Same. I loved it so much, and still do
For me, music always plays a big part for me.
Ghost of tsushima is an effin masterpiece
The moment I read the title and the first thing that came to mind is the Ashtray Maze from control. It is undoubtedly the most original, epic and mesmerising gameplay moment there is
Thief: Deadly Shadows. The 'Robbing the Cradle' mission will haunt me for life.
And then what comes afterwards...
There are two from Starfield I think are worthy of note.
1. Entangled, an easy to miss mission that takes you back and forth between alternate realities.
2. Kryx's Legacy, specifically the part where you're investigating the high security prison known as The Lock
Starfield? Are you fucking serious?
Sorry, we don't list a heavily modded Skyrim in space here
The opening level of Super Metroid is seared into my mind; the way the level tilts and shudders, with the self-destruct timer counting down as you evacuate, is perfect.
Horizon forbidden west, Dlc fighting a titan felt so insane, I will never forget that long as fight ❤❤
That was a good one! I remember during Zero Dawn thinking “Damn, I hope I never have to fight one of THOSE things!” And then…..
No Ashtray Maze from Control or Sing from Alan Wake 2?
Nope they just talk about games they always seem to talk about. I've noticed they talk about RDR2 A LOT!
@@Mattchoo1026yeah man but for good reason… that’s one of the greatest missions of any rockstar game. Absolutely belongs on this list.
@@Mattchoo1026 Again people are allowed to have a different opinion than you.... If you want videos about YOUR favorites then go make them
I knew nothing about RE 4 or who the hell Mike was but I genuinely teared up after the 30 seconds he was there. I think it was the pain in Leon voice yelling “MIKE!!!” just made me spiral thinking they were best friends and new each other on a personal level. It was some “first 5 minutes of Up” type shit
Oh you gotta play RE4. It’s phenomenal. As is the village.
Cant Believe Alan Wake 2 'We Sing" level isn't on the list.
👍
Between that and the Ashtray Maze in Control, Remedy got hosed.
@RysloFC agree take control was so awesome.
Even alan wake 1 had a great one in the stage fight.
Without googling let me guess you had to viciously endure the games tik tok dialogue on max volume for 20 minutes
@Gertji what?
Ace Combat 7: Mission Lighthouse
Starts off with a massive dogfight with several allies and former enemies working together.
19:59 some good ASMR there
I probably spent more time in that court room in Wolfenstein than I did in the rest of them game on the hardest difficulty. Before the cutscene was over, it felt like I'd already been shot.
Gameranx is one the best gaming channels
Sometimes they talk about the same games though...🤷🏽
@@Mattchoo1026 I think thats kind of all the gaming channels, though.
Halo 3 warthog run and Space Marine 2 defend the banner are gonna be bedtime stories for my kids!! Wish they were on this list. ❤
The time travel missions in Dishonored and Titanfall 2 were my pick for sure
It would be criminal not to make a part 2 of this!!! Great list
Hey thank you!
@@gameranxTVmake it fast I can’t wait I loved it
Maybe more then just part 2 lol too good of a list for it to end on just 2.
“Boarding Party” from Uncharted 3 from beginning to end is an amazing action sequence. From chasing the cruise ship jumping from boat to boat during a storm, to when the ship turns on its side and you’re trying to get out.
A good video game channel makes it's audience love and want to play games they've never played. You guys do it multiple times per week. Thank you!
Totally agree.
Halo Reach’s ending where you are holding off all the Covenant in an endless mode until you are overwhelmed was both badass anxiety inducing and depressing because our character has no possibility of surviving.
Happy Sunday everyone
🙂Happy Sunday dude!
what is so happy about a Sunday
Same to you broski. 🤘🏽
@@metalvideos1961 oh whatever if they had said happy girl day you'd have been like YaAaAsSsS kWeEeN 💐 😰!!!!
@@metalvideos1961 you tell me. Go make it a happy Sunday
It's an awesome and beautiful mission indeed!
My favorite level from DOOM Eternal is definitely "Mars Core"
Hell yea
No Uncharted 4 chapter 9? You go from puzzle belltower climbing/crashing part, to a shoot out in the middle of a market, to a city car chase, to dangling from a rooe on a crane dragging yourself to an on vehicle-hopping shootout and culminating in gunning down an amored truck while in a motorcycle. Peak cinema style/worthy acrion sequence there
I still think about the final mission of Halo 3, from time to time.
The image of Chief driving away with Arby on the turret shooting flood is an iconic moment that is burned into my memory.
that was the only one i was waiting on wtf
‘In no particular order. Here’s number 10’ 😂
Disappointed to this day that we only got to play as Venom once while being voiced by such a bad ass actor. Yet we got multiple moments to play as MJ and that one deaf chick having her own side mission. I remember seeing people cope about it claiming it felt more special that he was playable once as if we haven't gotten to play venom in other games Ultimate Spiderman on the Ps2 being one of the best.
spider-man 2 is incredibly mediocre. no idea why it was so beloved.
And now we'll never get that opportunity again since Tony Todd is gone sadly. Insomniac really dropped the ball
Fucking facts homie!!
According to the leaks we were supposed to get a venom game in a few years, but due to those leaks insomniac delayed everything
Spiderman 2 was the second most disappointing game I've ever seen, only to bf 2042
I’ll always say the final level of halo 3 is such a rush
Top 20... Call me Nathan Morgan
God of War 3 climbing Mount Olympus. Just casually fighting Poseidon while riding a Titan to fight Zeus and killing Helios along the way. That's literally the start of the game and it just shows you the true power of Kratos.
Red dead 2 manor mission better be here!
Ayy i got my pick!
Ocean Summoning level in Alana Wake 2 is my pick for most badass of recent games. Mowing down wave after wave with live rock playing is just so great
Very nice! Should we bring out a part 2 for this video?
The factory in Titanfall 2.
I'd say Halo 2 the entire set of levels where you get to pilot the tank. Absolute badassery!
haha now we’re wanting to replay Halo 2 thanks!
Titanfall 2 Effect & Cause, We don't go to Raventholm in HL 2 and the Hollow invasion in Gears 2 are some of my 0ersonal favorites
A notable mention suggestion I would add and not necessarily a mission per se is when you ride home on the horse in, Back To Shady Belle in RDR2 and the song "Unshaken" is played.
Truly one of my most memorable moments in gaming.
Cyberpunk 2077 alternate ending where V just charges into arasaka building front door without any plan or any one
my nominations for 10 more badass video game levels is gonna have to be Chronos from the OG God of War, Suicide Mission from ME2, the new and improved Xen in Black Mesa, The Wedding in Sleeping Dogs, and the final mission, Halo, in Halo 3. I still remember these vividly to this day.
Oh and the Estate in OG Modern Warfare 2, where the team gets betrayed by Shephard. I mean you can't forget that one, its ICONIC.
Loose Ends.
What about the final mission in the og modern warfare 3 where you confront makarov in the body armor
Oh yeah man what a nostalgic game, The Wedding mission in sleeping dogs still haunts me to this day
2:28 L vid, YOU DIDN'T SHOW THE DECAPITATION!!
The mission starts of just before dawn and really showcases just how beautiful the game is, and how far ahead of its time it really was
i entered the video looking for this 5:30
Just had to be there.!
That moment in ghost of tsushima was the most insane moment and rage reveal sequence in video games history imo
haha does that make it your favorite badass level of all time?
@gameranxTV for sure I didn't expect it at all because it happens relatively late in the game that was epic, I'm glad you put it in this top!
Hello, Jake!!
Hello
Effect and cause from Titanfall 2 is my fav! Nothing more badass than being able to jump back and forth in time and get one over your enemies!
My favourite badass moments come from Remedy games. The Astral Maze in Control and The dark ocean summoning in Alan Wake 2 left me speechless
No offense, but this video is seriously lacking some heavy hitters. Where's the level from Control? The music sequence from Alan Wake 2? And the end-level in Far Cry Blood Dragon is just legendary.
Flash bang in 5:42
Max Payne 3's police station level was something that gave me an action hangover for a lifetime. That whole sequence was one of the most action-packed badass game levels ever.
You missed uncharted 4 chase
And Kratos vs baldur or thor's sons were amazing as well
Damn, that Wolfenstein ones a kick in the teeth even more so after that sequenc is over.
yea, the way how it ended was really something
Have a favorite badass level in mind?
@@gameranxTV Regardless of the ending. I found the entire battle of Earth leading up to it amazing in Mass Effect 3
Why haven't you guys made a video about the new RPG from the original developers and writer of the Mass Effect trilogy called Exodus? It looks like it could possibly be the Mass Effect successor that we need. I'm amped about that game.
What does it have to do with this list, though?
@Jackrazorus Bro, are you really hopping in my comment section trying to be "that" guy? Don't, just don't.
COD:WAW, the sniper scene with Rezov was top tier. Also, Hitman 2, the Mumbai map “Chasing Ghost”. Timing and patience are EVERYTHING on that map.
What's this list? No Far Cry 3 burning weed. No Splinter Cell level. No Ezio flying. No Pax Roman. No Battle of Bunker Hill. No bourning boats in Costantinople. No Control maze?
Make ur own list tf
