I picked up the earlier release of this kit. The Smoking Tire did a review of a tuned R8 that was gorgeous in a matt blue.

Thank God you've decided to use your own color. Boxart suggesting to paint it black matte looks somehow awful to me. Yellow however, looks very good.

It’s called the trunk lid
The color is Giallo Modena. It is the same yellow that you see on the Ferrari shield . It represents the city of Modena where Ferraris are born.
It would be called a hood if its a door that opens up above the engine its called a hood it even works in reverse
