- Automobilista 2 V1.4.7.0 is now available as a Release Candidate on Steam and adds Nürburgring Historic 1971 featuring the Nordschleife, Südschleife & Gesamtstrecke layouts (Part of Nürburgring DLC).
Here I am taking a first deeper look into the historic Nordschleife 1971 version, giving you my thoughts and impressions by doing a 2-lap race with the F-Retro class which actually raced there back then.

Great video and a really exciting track. Sudschiefe is great too although is very narrow so pretty tricky to overtake I think.
Have also already done some laps on the Südschleife and recorded footage. The 1st part with these many slow corners is so hard. Low downforce cars on a low grip tarmac, and walls not even a meter away. Real challenge!
Had a blast racing with GPLaps round here earlier today.
I only ever drive these cars with H Pattern gearbox :) It just makes it feel so much more "authentic" haha Another awesome video Timo! Thank you for sharing this awesome track with us!

The accidents are insane and scary insights into what it would be like to just come across a sideways car on track
Oh and don't need to rate it yet its still in Beta and not finished so I wouldn't rate it yet.
Be great "in my opinion" if they would add fiery car crashes.
Sorry for the 2 missing game sounds in the second half. It's an occasional bug in Premiere Pro when exporting.

I love these cars, I dislike the ones that stick to the road with 900 HP and the square steering wheels. Loved your video and thanks for sharing! All Reiza's tracks are great, love the Monza, Spa, for just a couple examples, everyone who sim races should buy "Automobilista 2" and I have only the best regards for Reiza developers.
You'd have to be cold-blooded or suicidal to drive one of those in that track

Great video, Timo. You might want to put the microphone an inch or two farther away from your mouth, maybe. Loving this version of the Nordschleife in ams2.
1971 Nurburgring is not part of the Historic track pack. Its part of the Nurburgring track pack.
Now AMS2 really needs some early 70s Prototypes.

You can already buy it, it's part of the Nürburgring DLC which was released back in 2020.

Timo have you revisited this using the release candidate? I believe these cars have update work to them in the RC version. Maybe a little more grip now!?

No, not yet. Have been hesitant with these mods but have dled the stuff from Thunderflash which is significantly easier to install. Will give that a go!

The cars/models are part of the base game. The liveries are from Race Department.

This track doesn't make any sense for car faster than GT3...more fun with real cars.
