    Lumen *is* ray tracing.
    It's either software lumen, hardware lumen, or Nvidia ray tracing (RTX). All of these are different implementations of ray tracing.

      ok, so if i turn lumen of but hardrware raytracing on it will look the same

      @@davidcodd3398no it won't, because Lumen uses a different mechanic to calculate the light rays. Lumen is a little less hardware demanding, but Nvidia RTX is very accurate and looks much better imo.

      @@21shanksRay tracing looks decent, but path tracing is what nvidia promised and actually looks good and barely any games use it and it’s too demanding

      @@turnip1744 thats why the add dlss 3.5, frame generation + dlss ''lower quality resolution with image reconstruction to get the quality required on lower charge'' + reflex ''to get lower ms and reduce ghosting'' and better denoiser to better ray trayicing quality of details, all of this over path trayicing to get quality and performance with less resources

    Hardware RT beats Lumen in pure graphics, but I would rather have Lumen in shooter games. No need to handicap your frame rate in a fast paced game.

    Imagine with my RTX 4060 Laptop 30 FPS, with RTX 4070tiS 90 fps 😄

    and what would it be like with Lumen on and Ray Tracing on

    • @21shanks
      @21shanks 6 месяцев назад +1

      Lumen is raytracing, so you can't have both

    • @Fusion05
      @Fusion05 4 месяца назад +1

      Not possible. Lumen is just a software implementation of RT, specifically for better performance and doesn't require RT cores.
