Great ranking, AC/DC has always been my favorite band. Their first 13 international albums are pure gold. Black Ice was a mixed bag and I wasn't crazy about their newest one 15. Rock Or Bust 14. Black Ice 13. Blow Up Your Video 12. Fly On The Wall 11. Stiff Upper Lip 10. Flick Of The Switch 9. Let There Be Rock 8. Powerage 7. Ballbreaker 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) 4. The Razor's Edge 3. High Voltage 2. Highway To Hell 1. Back In Black
Thanks Ryan ! Thank you for sharing your ranking , you have a great mix of Bon & Brian ⚡️ I read on BLABBERMOUTH today that the new album will include guitar parts from Malcom , that’s so good to hear ! Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada 🤘
Great ranking! My first AC/DC album was also ”Flick of the switch”, still got it, still play it! The best albums is from the beginning right up until that album I think. After that I really like Ballbreaker and Stiff upper lip. There are som great songs on them, Hard as a rock, Whiskey on the rocks, Ballbreaker, Stiff upper lip, Meltdown, House of jazz and Satelite blues are great!
1- Back in Black 2- Highway to Hell 3- Let There Be Rock 4- Black Ice 5- Powerage 6- Flick of the Switch 7- For Those About to Rock 8- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 9- High Voltage 10- Rock Or Bust 11- Blow Up Your Video 12- The Razor's Edge 13- Ballbreaker 14- Fly On The Wall 15- Stiff Upper Lip
Great ranking , I always like seeing Flick Of The Switch near the top ! Are you looking forward to the new album ? I sure am ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I am! Didn't really like the single, but then again, Play Ball was worse than some pretty good tracks on Rock Or Bust so... maybe it was a bad choice? As for FOTS, it's really great. The first half of the album is phenomenal, IMO. Some great riffs. This House is On Fire is so Underrated. Brian's voice sounds great on the album.
Bon Scott's favorite AC/DC album was Powerage. Angus said in a documentary, he had the most fun ... no stress by the label ... lest favorable was Highway To Hell. They were under the gun ... make it or you're gone. I got the impression, that most of their albums by 1979 in the US failed to chart. High Voltage sold a mere 40,000 copies (1976-1979) mainly from from concerts.
Hi Darcy I’d switch the top two around 1. Powerage - every track a killer and Bon’s singing spot on, Angus on fire and Malcolm’s playing crisp 2. Highway To Hell - for me, not quite at the same level but a bit more polished and has lost some of the rawness that made them awesome 3. Back In Black - I’d put this just slightly higher than ‘Let There Be Rock’ For me, Brian Johnson not as dangerous or wild as Bon, and I didn’t think anything after BIB compares with anything the band did with Bon Scott (RIP I went to a record shop and swapped a couple of old electro albums for Powerage in around 1979. the sleeve was battered but the vinyl pristine Saw them in the mid 90’s ... great live act Bonfire is a great release 🤘
Great top 3 Paul ! I like what said about Bon Scott , he was definitely on the wild side ! I put Bonfire on the list , I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up yet ! Thanks as always 🤘
Hey Allen 👋 Blow Up Your Video had some great tracks , agreed on Meanstreak , also I have always loved Kissin’ Dynamite & Two’s Up ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
Highway to Hell - Night Prowler gets me every time. Always makes me wonder what the future would have been like with Bon. My #1 AC/DC album is probably Razors Edge!
Night Prowler is a great tune ! I always think about the “ what if’s “ , I guess it’s fun to think about but we will never know lol . Nice choice with The Razors Edge ! Honk your horn next time you see me 🤣
My top 10: 1: Back In Black 2: Fly On The Wall 3: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 4: Ballbreaker 5: Highway To Hell 6: Blow Up Your Video 7: Flick Of The Switch 8: POWER UP 9: Let There Be Rock 10: Powerage
You bet I like Fates Warning ! I’m missing a few from their discography , I hope to get them soon , then we will see what I can do about a ranking ! I’m pretty picky about ranking videos , I have to own all the albums & know them , I don’t like half assing it lol ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
AMAZING video! I don't know how I missed this one when you unleashed it to the masses. I, too, absolutely adore POWERAGE. It would be my second fave 'DC album. My fave may shock you but it's BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO and my all-time fave 'DC track is "Two's Up". I love the fact that you even mentioned it! Funny you did talk about a "darker side" of AC/DC a couple of times... this is one of those songs. It has something different. It is very dramatic in mood and tone, it's a bit sad and melancholic with an absolutely killer solo. I also love "Ruff Stuff" and "Some Sin for Nuthin"... some really obscure 'DC tracks that still send chills down my spine man. Other than all the usual faves I also really dig BALLBREAKER. I think it's a really strong album and "Burning Alive" is a criminally underrated song that I find really ear-pleasing and endearing. Funny how some folks still refer to Johnson as the "new" singer... he joined the band in frigging 1980!!! Also it's just normal that he ended up doing more "iffy" albums in the end - Scott only did 5 albums. Except for POWERAGE, which I absolutely adore, I would say Johnson is the better singer. A bit more "metal" too, less hard rock n' roll so retrospectively I figure Johnson was more appropriate for the 80s. He was inspirational to me as a singer too when I first started out in high school bands. "Anyhoos" man, very very good vid, I really enjoyed it. Keep it right up! All the best and I hope you're still spinning VoD from time to time, Daniel
All AC/DC albums from the bon Scott era because that’s all I’m Familiar with dating the albums High voltage (🇦🇺only) Feb 1975 T.N.T. (🇦🇺only) Dec 1975 High voltage (international release) 1976 Dirty deeds 1976 Let there be rock 1977 Powerage 1978 Highway to hell 1979 And I’ll include this one ofc BIB 1980 (even though it’s Brian Johnson) Thanks for the rankings 👍
Great list ! I’m a big Bon Scott fan , but really enjoy Brian’s work too ! Give Flick Of The Switch a try , its a straight forward rocker ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
I would say your rankings were great. Flick of the Switch was so underrated. On one of the ACDC documentary's Brian was saying that when he took over he was pretty nervous realized he had to do his own thing and not to try to recreate what Bon did. At his first show becuse of how much the fans had loved Bon he wasn't sure what kind of reaction he would get. Place went crazy huge ovation. Got the monkey off his back felt way better he said. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Mike ! Back In Black would be a tough album to follow up , but I think they did a good job with For Those About To Rock , two of my favourite tracks are Evil Walks & C.O.D. ⚡️
Great ranking Darcy! Back In Black was my introduction and has always been my favorite. Highway would be a close 2nd! In recent years I’ve learned just how underrated Powerage and Flick of the Switch are. Also love Let There be Rock, which would round out my top 5. Great video, cheers 🤘🏼💀🎶
Excellent list! It is damn near impossible to rate the Top 5 as it could change based on how I feel that day. Highway To Hell, Powerage, Let There Be Rock, Flick Of The Switch and For Those About To Rock...all flawless!
Nice Video Darcy, great ranking, I would flip the top 2 and Flick of the Switch would also be in my top 3( my favorite Johnson album) great old school band! Bon Scott passed way to soon and still left his mark on Rock n Roll, look forward to the next one, Stay Heavy Brother 🤘 🤘
Thanks very much David ! I’m not surprised people love Flick Of The Switch so much , it’s filled with great songs & killer riffs ! R.I.P. Bon Scott a true rocker ! Stay Heavy my friend 🤘
I’ve never been a big ACDC fan, just one of those bands that I really struggle with but it was good to hear your background growing up with them and the shows you’ve seen.
I love that album , It was actually my first AC/DC album that I bought on release day , i’ll never forget how excited I was lol . Thanks for watching ⚡️ Take care ~ Darcy
There's always a place for AC/DC on every metalhead's shelves. I was listening to Razor's Edge yesterday night while working late at the office. They will be releasing a new studio album in the coming few weeks. Good to know that these guys are still around delivering the goods. Love those videos of yours. Cheers my friend!
Thanks my friend ! I don’t pull out the AC/DC out as much as back in the day , took a heavier path around ‘86 , but I’ve always appreciated their music ! Hope your doing great 🤘 Stay Heavy
Hey Darcy! Enjoyed the video. AC/DC ranking couldn’t be easy they have so many awesome albums but you did a great job! My friends kept telling back in the day there was more to rock than Kiss ( I was very stubborn) lol. Thanks to them I discovered Rush and AC/DC early on. My first take on AC/DC was For Those About to Rock on LP. Wow!!!! I was blown away then came Highway to Hell on cassette followed by Back in Black and Flick of the Switch both on LP. Next thing I new it I had everything they’d done. Highway to Hell has always been my favorite album of theirs and still is to this day!!! My top 5 would be: 5. Flick of the Switch 4. Dirty Deeds 3. Back in Black 2. For Those About to Rock 1. Highway to Hell Thanks again Darcy another fine job and as always stay heavy!!🤘🤘🤘
Rankings are never easy , but they are a lot of fun ! I always remind myself when doing them to be honest with myself & give my personal experience with each band , you’ll never please everybody lol . Love your top 5 , great mix of Bon & Brain ⚡️ Thanks for all your great comments , very much appreciated ! Stay Heavy my friend 🤘
My top 10 favourite AC/DC albums would be 10. Ballbreaker 9. The Razors Edge 8. For Those About To Rock 7. High Voltage 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5. Flick Of The Switch 4. Back In Black 3. Powerage 2. Let There Be Rock 1. Highway To Hell
My ranking for the AC/DC albums would be🤘 16. Blow Up Your Video 1988 15. The Razors Edge 1990 14. Stiff Upper Lip 2000 13. Black Ice 2008 12. Fly On The Wall 1985 11. Ballbreaker 1995 10. Rock Or Bust 2014 9. Power Up 2020 8. Flick Of The Switch 1983 7. For Those About To Rock We Salute You 1981 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 1976 5. Back In Black 1980 4. High Voltage 1976 3. Powerage 1978 2. Let There Be Rock 1977 1. Highway To Hell 1979
One of the most enjoyable aspects of AC/DC is that the two singers sound different enough that they have distinct personalities, yet similar enough for fans to largely enjoy both. Bon had that nasally voice full of nuance and whimsy, while Brian's gravelly shriek has the subtlety of razor wire sandpaper. I love 'em both and really enjoy that Brian has always honored Bon by singing "his" songs with enthusiasm and respect. Keeps a part of Bon alive. A Few Favorite Songs Ranked as Best I Can: 1. Sin City - I've heard it a hundred thousand times and still get chills. This may be the perfect hard rock song. 2. Have A Drink On Me - I don't know why, but this song just sounds tough and has from the first time I heard it. My friends skated to the Dead Kennedys, but I skated to AC/DC. 3. Ride On - This slow burner comforted me through many confused times with the message that no matter what I could eventually move on to something new. Some of Angus' best solo work too. 4. Touch Too Much - The brothers' seamless instrumental work and the rawness of the riff make this one a favorite. It just sounds exquisite. 5. Baby Please Don't Go - This Big Joe Williams remake takes on a sped up, almost frantic quality that does justice to the source material. 6. Evil Walks - One of the heaviest songs the band ever did, IMO. Brian's voice was in top form and belts it out with gritty precision. 7. Meanstreak - Blow Up Your Video was the first new release I bought, and right away this song struck out. It's still a favorite today. 8. DT - One of the very few Acca Dacca instrumentals, this one sounds just right. This song has the perfect heaviness that works just fine while Brian takes a smoke break. 9. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - Between the brothers' growling guitars and Bon's high wails, this tough song is the perfect anthem for a hit man. 10. What's Next To The Moon - This dark and sordid song has always drawn my attention, all menacing and building as it goes. Classy.
I love Bon & Brian both also & you described them perfectly ! Thanks for the list of songs , very well thought out ! I haven’t made a list of my favourite songs from AC/DC , but those 10 would definitely be up there ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Take care ~ Darcy
Great choice! In my opinion, it's the most underrated album in their catalog. There's not a bad track on it. I'd say "Badlands" is my favorite track on it, but "Landslide" is a close second.
Awesome ! Good to hear you love Flick Of The Switch , now if you make me pick I’d go with This House Is On Fire , with Badlands coming in second , but honestly just like you said there is not a bad track on this album ! Cheers James ⚡️ PWR UP
Love your ranking videos Darcy. This is a good one. AC/DC you can not go wrong with them. Like them all. THE RAZORS EDGE and BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO are probably my fave together with BACK IN BLACK and HIGH VOLTAGE.
Thanks very much Rene ! I agree , you can’t go wrong with AC/DC ! Great album choices , all killer ! Cheers from cold ass Saskatchewan Canada 🥶 Keep It Metal In Spain 🤘
#1 is indeed #1. I also agree with you on Rock or Bust being dead last, as well as the positioning for Black Ice, Back in Black and Flick of the Switch, albeit for different reasons in the case of the last two. The only ones I'd disagree on really are High Voltage, Razors and Stiff Upper Lip, I'd place them higher than you (and Powerage lower) Also wondering where you'd put the new Power Up, I'd put it smack in the middle, somewhere in the vicinity of Stiff Upper Lip and Ballbreaker. (PS I came into AC/DC via 74 Jailbreak at age 11 - but my first 'real time' release was Ballbreaker, though I didn't get it back then, only years later. My first release-day pickup was Black Ice, and I got a free t-shirt with my purchase. Also got to see them on that tour, and it was magical - especially because I was too young for their previous visit to my country back in '95/'96. It was definitely worth the nearly 14-year wait though.)
Love Dirty Deeds especially the song about ballroom dancing 😉 Bon Scott was a great front man but Angus in his schoolboy uniform kinda made him a main front guy for them too 🤔
Here's my favorite ranking, as I rank them today - including Powerup or PwrUp. 1979 to 1980 - High Voltage (1976) was my all-time favorite AC/DC album, not Highway To Hell. 1980 to 2002 - Back In Black ruled supreme ... due to lyric content, I felt out of place, but love Angus king riffs. Where it slipped down to #2 and boarderline slipping to #3 by 2020. But where does fit today in 2023, let those hells bells ring in or out of tune, and I still love that great love song the most - Give The Dog A Bone. I became an instant Back In Black fan the day after It's debut 1980 release. It should be no surprise to learn that Hells Bells and Shoot To Thrill have always been at the bottom of the ten track. 16. Rock Or Bust (title cut) 15. Blow Up Your Video (That's The Way I Rock 'N' Roll) 14. Fly On The Wall 13. Black Ice (War Machine) 12. For Those About To Rock (title cut and Put The Finger On You) 11. Highway To Hell 10. Powerup 9. The Razor's Edge 8. Stiff Upper Lips (title cut, Safe In New York City) 7. Let There Be Rock (Whole Lotta Rosie great live on If You Want Blood) Dog Eat Dog 6. Ballbreaker (title cut, The Furor) 5. Powerage (What's Next To The Moon) 4. Flick Of The Switch (Deep In The Hole) basic rock in rawhide, instead basic black and motorcycle studs, shir ain't Judas Priest, lol. But fit solid between Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith. the top three sure are near great albums - 9 out ten to perfection: 3. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (title cut, Big Balls and Squaler top three favorites) not really a weak track 2. Back In Black (Given The Dog A Bone, You Shook Me All Night Long, What Do You Do For Money) not really a weak track 1. High Voltage (1976) #1 since 2003 to 2023 ... Rock 'N' Roll Singer my #1 all-time favorite hard rock song, it cranks me up and throws me to the wall like a shot in the dark, but never leaves me hanging. Actually is a perfect album with a slight flaw with in lyric mode but Bon carries it well with his street level poetry It's A Long Way To The Top bathroom graffiti anthem about overflowing the toilet about the hard life on the road and drug abuse (heavy drinking that appears to have played a part in his death in 1980) other wise, a masterpiece with bagpipes and the whole bit. In fact, High Voltage (1975 Australia) beats out Bad Company's Straight Shooter for favorite album of the year. Love Song great deep cut ballad that makes me laugh every time ... the opener riff cranks you up and throws you to wall, as it makes you cry the blues Baby Please Don't Go cover - She's Got Balls, just as good on the international version of High Voltage. The original album with three uncredited drummers, that Phil Rudd grabbing up the credits on the international version. Back cover is the same ... love the hand written love letters actually pinned by groupies ... It's insane to know what they got away with in Little Lover. It's a wonder why in the 1976 review Rolling Stones Magazine said that it was a new "low" for heavy metal ... the album never charted till 1981 and went on to sell 3 million copies. Who's right? The critics or the album buyer or the fan who purchases the pricey tickets .... in September 1979 my friends, who turned me on to the first three albums that they got at the concert: AC/DC headlined, Molly Hatchet 2nd billing, and Point Blank opened - they paid something like $7 apiece and it wasn't sold out. A mere 1400 (half) of the general admitted ticket sold by show time. It's insane that fans today .... paying out $300 plus for backroll seating. You might get a nosebleed looking down to ants on stage. LOL GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME ROCK 'N' ROLL rip Bon Scott and Malcolm Young
I started in 1975 with AC/DC. I saw them live on the Stuff Upper Lip tour. The Razors Edge album is when I got sober. Classic classic album Back in Black. Recently found Flick of the Switch on vinyl. My top 3 1. Highway to Hell 2. Let there be Rock 3. Back in Black.
People speak about the Back in Black album being Brian's best vocal performance of his career. Can't argue with that except to say that on Flick of the Switch he hits those notes yet has arguably more character to his voice. He sounds like a total bad ass on that album and his 'vocal intent' sounds like he's gonna bust a lung! Raw, brutal and brilliant!
Great video, Darcy. I had to watch this video. Lol. Great number 1 pick and great to see Flick Of The Switch high up on your list. So underrated that album. 1. Black In Black 2. Powerage 3. Highway To Hell 4. Let There Be Rock 5. Flick Of The Switch
"Jailbreak" is taken from the Australian version of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and the remaining four from the Australian version of "High Voltage". The "High Voltage" album released here is essentially the Australian "TNT".
ACDC started my Hardrock and Metal journey about 37 years ago. They lead me in the right direction and i am very grateful therefore.Actually i play the Stiff upper lip album in my car(fav.song is Damned ).Let there be Rock was the very first album i bought. My ranking of their albums would be very close to yours Darcy. Take care my friend 🤘
Sounds like we both had similar journeys into Hard Rock & Heavy Metal , I feel very lucky that his is the music I got into & still love to this day ! I love Damned from Stiff Upper Lip . Thank you for all the great comments & thank you for making this fun ! Cheers Gerhard 🤘
Good review mate. I heard a dude who was a fan, yesterday who did a review and he just bagged the whole album. 1) let there be rock (Australian release) 2) powerage- version with cold hearted man? 3) volts- (alternate versions of highway to hell songs- pre- mutt Langer.) Rock on! Btw I saw them on razors edge and rock or bust tours front row. Know what you mean about over hearing songs, that's why I go for their rare stuff after being a fan for over 30years now. 👍
Thanks very much ! I want to add Backtracks & Bonfire to my collection , tons of great material on those sets , including stuff I’ve never heard ! That’s very cool you got front row tickets , something you’ll never forget ! I’m hoping they release a new album soon , I even read they may try to use some guitar parts that Malcolm recorded before he passed away , not sure I’m that true , sure would be cool if it was ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
Solid list. For me, once I really listened to the Bon Scott-era material through and through, it became a double edged sword. It's all amazing, but for years I've been stuck on just 6 albums (OK, 5 plus the EP with "Jailbreak") and I find it too difficult to ever go back listening to Brian Johnson again. I hate to be that guy but I just feel that Scott was the perfect front man for this band. Most seemingly underrated AC/DC song in my opinion - "Ain't No Fun (Waitin' Round to be a Millionaire)". Don't know how you feel about that one but I think it's the high point of the Dirty Deeds album.
The Bon era is my go to for sure , with some Brian sprinkled in there , still love Flick Of The Switch , love that stripped back sound ! Ain’t No Fun ( Waiting Round To Be A Millionaire ) is a great song , I also like Problem Child & Ride On a lot ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Take care Travis
Hey darcy, hope all going well, been wanting to watch this since u released it, ac/dc my fav band... im collecting the oz covers/releases on vinyl....just missing couple(not easy find here and expensive...which annoys me as their locals...anyway) as u say there is a hair between alot of the albums, only saw them once on ballbreaker tour, didnt know they might tour this year hopefully not with axel...lol, when i get all I'll do ranking too, take care buddy😎✌
I’m doing great , hope you are too ! So many great albums , it’s not a easy ranking to do ! Good luck with your collection , hope you track ‘em all down & I look forward to watching your ranking ⚡️ Cheers
I’m the same way , I listened to so much AC/DC back in the day , definitely not as much these days ! I always like hear about the album that got you into a band , it always means so much more to you doesn’t it ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Hi Darcy, Now I have time and ranked the AC/DC Albums yet.... 15. Blow up your Video 14. Fly on the Wall 13. The razors Edge 12. Rock or Bust 11. Stiff upper Lip 10. Black Ice 09. Ballbreaker 08. Flick of the Switch 07. Let there be rock 06. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap 05. High Voltage 04. Powerage 03. For those about to rock 02. Back in Black 01. Highway to hell ( First AC/DC Vinyl 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 )
Hello Heiko 👋 Thanks for taking the time to share your ranking , gotta love your #1 , it’s been my favourite as long as I can remember ! Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada ⚡️ Stay Safe
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Hi Darcy Please stay save, too and at some point in the future we have ranking the Albums of my favourite canadian Heavy Metal Band Anvil 😍😍😍😍 Greetings in the near of Cologne,Germany
Fantastic video for an iconic Band.. As you said, AC/DC, along with Van Halen, Marillion, Sabbath etc. managed to change their lead vocalist, something that is not quite easy!
I have a lot of AC/DC albums but for whatever reasons always assumed "Flick of the Switch" was bad without listening to it. Thanks to you, I've got a new/old AC/DC album to jam to. Thanks!
I’m happy to hear your giving Flick Of The Switch another go , it truly is a great album ! Even the cover has a simplistic & stripped down look . Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada 🤘 Stay Safe
Great to see you rank a great band from my home country. Flick Of The Switch is underrated I agree but in front of Back In Black? Wow. Here’s my ranking. Australian releases only. 1.Back In Black 2. Highway To Hell 3. Powerage 4. Let There Be Rock 5. Dirty Deeds 6. TNT 7. The Razors Edge 8. Flick Of The Switch 9. Blow Up Your Video 10.Stiff Upper Lip 11. For Those About to Rock 12.Rock Or Bust 13. Fly On The Wall 14. Black Ice 15. Ballbreaker 16. High Voltage ( Aus version)
Flick Of The Switch was my first brand new release from AC/DC , lots of fond memories ! Back In Black is a monster album , but for me maybe I heard it too much , I still love it ! Great ranking , a little surprised to see High Voltage so low , is the Australian very a lot different ? Cheers ⚡️
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives Very Different. High Voltage isn’t very good. They only put the few good songs from that album and combined it with TNT for the international release. They really hadn’t found their sound yet. It’s not bad though, none of them are and no problem 👍🏻
I like AC/DC, but I can't say I love them. Sometimes I have the hardest time going back to their music, even though I still think they're a good band. The only AC/DC albums I have are Dirty Deeds and Back In Black. I might want to look into more though! Nice ranking Darcy!
Completely agree with you on the stadium gigs! I’m not a fan at all!! I wanna be able to see the whites of the eyes of the band, that’s my kinda gig!! “Blow up your video” was the album that came out when I was getting into a Metal, but tbh, they sounded quite generic to me, back in the day!! It’s only really in the last decade or so, I’ve revisited them & I enjoy most of their material!! Another great ranking video Darcy, great stuff mate!! Not sure I have a favourite album, but I absolutely love the song “for those about to rock”!! Thanks brother!!🤘🏻
I actually prefer smaller gigs these days , but we don’t get many around here & it always involves at least 4 hours of travel , the costs add up ! I’m with you , if I’m going to a show I want to see it & not stare at the large TVs for 3 hours ! Thanks Marc 🤘 Stay Heavy brother
Good list. I also got into AC/DC at age 13, but that was in 1990, so it was "The Razor's Edge" that was all the rage at that time. I still think that's mostly a great album and without a doubt their last really good one. My cousin introduced me to "Back in Black" in the mid-80's, but it actually scared me at the time, so I couldn't listen to it! I was a very sensitive 7 year-old... 😁
Thank you ! That’s funny I did a update video today , I was talking about Power Up being the best album since The Razors Edge , that’s cool that’s the album you got into them at ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Oh, I haven't listened to Power Up yet. I heard the singles and like everyone else I thought that Brian sounds outstanding. Whatever was done to his pipes really did the trick! Looking forward to more lists. 😊
Much like Judas Priest, ACDC was a band I listen to (the hits) but never owned any albums of. My first ACDC record I bought was Back in black and that was around a year and a half ago. Its like one of thoses required to listen to bands that I simply missed out on growing up. Thrash and Death metal was all I listened to back then. Very cool to have this reference video for the future. 🙂 May the metal gods be with you my friend.
I’m in the same boat with older bands I’m only discovering now or that have passed me by for one reason or another , it’s always harder to jump in later on ! Hope this helps you if you decide to pick up a few more AC/DC ⚡️ Cheers Daniel
Cool one! :) Let's see where we got some differences... 1. Powerage (without any doubt!) 2. Highway To Hell (Night Prowler, yeah!!) 3. Back In Black 4. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5. Flick Of The Switch (love the dusty sounding production!) 6. High Voltage 7. Let There Be Rock 8. Blow Up Your Video (Two's up!) 9. For Those About To Rock 10. Ballbreaker (I was at this tour, opening in germany: The Wildhearts) 11. Rock Or Bust (surprisingly good with some groove and tempo changes) 12. Fly On The Wall 13. Stiff Upper Lip 14. The Razors Edge (only song I always switch: Thunderstruck! Not a big fan of the Bruce Fairbain production here, too) 15. Power Up (I find it a bit boring) 16. Black Ice (sounds like Phil Rudd played one drum track and they used it on every song)
Thanks very much ! I couldn’t agree more in regards to Black Ice , Phil sounds like he’s on auto pilot lol . I like your description of the production on Flick Of The Switch , I love that stripped back approach , right done to that very basic looking album cover ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Take care ~ Darcy
Like you I dropped off after The Razors Edge. Good to see Flick up near the top. I'm my most popular grab off the shelf but I do try to give one of other ones a spin maybe once a month too. I see you have a mix of jewel case and digipacs. No i can't do that knowing they can all be got the same lol. Great you got to see them a few times too. I never have. Blow Up Your Video was the first new release for me. Ahhh sleep!
I knew that mix of jewel cases & digipaks would get a rise outta you lol , the ones on digipak were replacements for the ones I had on cassette ! Have a good sleep 😴
- I can't stand outdoor concerts anymore. Most of the time, sound quality is awful to me. Seems they just blast everything as loud as possible. - I like saving my ticket stubs and placing them inside the CD. Makes it fun to find them later and bring back memories. - I got to see ACDC on their Blow Up Your Video tour with opener Cinderella at a small indoor arena. Great show!
The stadium tickets prices nowadays are just out to lunch , no thanks I’ll take a smaller show any day ! I can’t remember if Cinderella opened on the Blow Up Your Video show that I saw , it very well could have been because I know I’ve seen them live at least once to ! Lots of great memories from those shows ! Take care Jimmy 🤘 Stay Heavy !
Hei, Darcy! My fav AC/DC album is Flick Of The Switch. I got it on cassette in Dec -83 when I got my 1st radio/cassette player. I love that album! 😎👌 Their best album according to me is Back In Black and then the 2nd best is Highway To Hell. Brilliant albums. 🤘😎 The rest of the albums I'm not sure how to rank them but they sure have many classic classics. Still raisin' power, Jarkko/MyVinylBar
I remember the day Flick Of The Switch came out , I loved it from day one , stripped down & back to a more raw sound ! I need to get a few of my favourites on vinyl ! Cheers 🍻 Jarkko
Hi Darcy!!! Nice seen a ranking of all international releases, yes they area great band, but i'm still missing some of their releases late 80's early 90's but i want the old jewel cases, not the digipacks!!!! I've got the chance to see them on the Ballbreaker tour and fun fact, my brother won a meet and greet with the band, he still can't believe it!!!! Btw the Bonfire box is a great one, but the only complain is why they put back in black in it i would rather want some other material instead. Favorite song (BS era) Problem Child, (BJ era) What you do for money Honey. Cheers
Hey Christian 👋 That’s a cool story about your brother winning a meet & greet , nowadays those are so expensive , I only did that once in 2008 to meet Judas Priest . I hope to pickup the Bonfire boxset soon !
Got into them with the Let there be Rock album which is why i prefer the Bon albums. They were the first band i ever saw live on the 'If you Want Blood' tour at Derby in 1978. Awesome.
That’s awesome you got see them in the early years , I love the Bon Scott era , he made such a big impact in such short period of time ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Historically speaking I can understand Highway to Hell! I think my number one will always be Powerage. I have nostalgic memories of listening to that CD in dad’s truck on road trips, definitely agree, not a single weak track there. Compared to Highway to Hell, in my opinion a hugely underrated album. Great video, Darc!
Before I got my own car I asked my mom if we could get a cassette deck in the ‘73 Monte Carlo , she’d drive me & my buddy to school , she would have to suffer through us cranking Powerage & Highway To Hell on a daily basis , I’m sure she was happy when I finally got my drivers license lol . Thanks Cody 🤘 Stay Heavy
Thanks for ranking AC/DC, Darcy. Much appreciated. Here’s my list. #15 Rock or Bust #14 Stiff Upper Lip #13 Blow Up Your Video #12 Black Ice #11 Fly on the Wall #10 Ballbreaker #9 Flick of the Switch #8 The Razor’s Edge #7 High Voltage #6 For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) #5 Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap #4 Let There Be Rock #3 Powerage #2 Highway to Hell #1 Back in Black
Anytime Branden ! It’s always fun doing ranking videos & usually harder than I anticipate lol . Thanks for sharing your ranking . It’s still crazy to think about your #1 & #2 , two different singers , the albums are only a year apart & both incredible ! Cheers ⚡️ Stay Safe
1. Powerage 2. Back In Black 3. Highway to Hell 4. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5. Let There Be Rock 6. High Voltage 7. Flick of The Switch 8. The Razors Edge 9. For Those About to Rock... 10. Power Up 11. Ballbreaker 12. Blow Up Your Video 13. Stiff Upper Lip 14. Rock or Bust 15. Black Ice 16. Fly on The Wall
I love AC/DC since 1998. My top albums are : 1. Highway to hell ... 100 % 2. Let there be rock ... 100 % 3. Powerage ... 100 % 4. - 7. High voltage, Flick of the switch, Fly on the wall, For those about to rock... 90 % And then the rest... 80 % I saw them live only once - 2010 in Dresden, Germany.
Nice ranking darcy and this is what my list looks like 1.Powerage 2. Highway to hell 3. Let there be rock 4. Back in black 5. For those about to rock 6. High voltage 7. Blow up your video 8. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap 9. Flick of the switch 10. Fly on the wall 11. The razors edge 12. Ballbreaker 13. Stiff upper lip 14. Black ice 15. Rock or bust
My top 10 for AC/DC, 1 being great and 10 being good are as follows: 1. Let There be Rock, 2. Powerage, 3. Back in Black, 4. Highway to Hell, 5. For those about to Rock, 6. Flick of the Switch, 7. Fly on the Wall 8. If you want Blood (you've got it), 9. Rock or Bust and 10. High Voltage. It is not easy to rank their albums, as all of them (except Black Ice) are really good. A formula that only works for them and Slayer.
Hey man, another great list! Like you, I tapped out after Ballbreaker, and I couldn't fairly do a list without knowing the last three albums well enough (heard them all, but was so divested at that point I would be biased in my assessment). A few thoughts: > Like most of us around our age, Who Made Who was my introduction to the band. You got the standard Brian era hits in a compact package! I always felt that if this was the studio album in place of the 80's albums, it would be among their best! > Is Back in Black the greatest 'gateway' album of all time? It's impossible to deny how good it is, but almost everyone I know feels burned out on it due to overplay--even the deep cuts get frequent radio play! > Notwithstanding the last three albums, Blow Up Your Video is my least favourite, followed closely by Ballbreaker. After buying The Razor's Edge upon release (still love that one), I decided I'd start to backtrack the 80's albums. I stopped after BUYV, never liked it beyond the two singles (they should throw those onto Who Made Who!) > I also prefer the Bon Scott albums the most, and on any given day any of them could be a favourite, though I usually gravitate to Let There Be Rock And Dirty Deeds, personally. I thin that it was less a matter of vocalist though and more the blues-drenched style of the early years. > Fav AC/DC tracks: The Jack, Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, Rocker, Shake Your Foundations Cheers!
Thanks Brandon ! AC/DC was definitely one of those gateway bands into Hard Rock & Metal ! I discovered them in 81-82 & honestly at the time I didn’t really put two & two together that I was actually listening to two different singers on these albums , I did eventually figure it out , I was only 13 & not too bright lol . I like Bon & Brian both , but if I had to choose it would be Bon all the way ! Thanks for the great comment ! Cheers ⚡️ Stay Safe
Great video, Darcy! I never liked AC/DC, but I am always here to support your splendid channel! I tried researching the opener for the 1996 tour, and according to this website, someone says it was a band called The Poor. This is the Vancouver show, but I would assume that they supported the entire tour. Hopefully this rings a bell! Cheers! www.ac-dc.net/archive/acdc_tour_history.php?date_id=3158
Killer ranking Darcy 🤘great hard rock band from my neck of the woods. I don’t have anything after Back in Black, I prefer Bon era AC/DC 🤘my all time favourite song is Jailbreak.
Thanks Brendan ! You just reminded me to pick up ‘74 Jailbreak on CD , I’ve had the cassette since the day it was released . Check out Flick Of The Switch ⚡️ Cheers mate
My fav Band saw them live only once though my fav song Cold Hearted Man Bon Scott era i love brian as well i saw them in an Arena show and i agree with you Darcy i would rather indoor it cost my son and i $150 each keep rockin Darcy i love the BOOGIEMAN on hard as a rock CD
Great favourite band Frank ⚡️ I need to get that Backtracks collection , Cold Hearted Man is awesome ! I’ve been to bad weather outdoor shows , it really take the enjoyment out of it , I’ll stick to the indoor shows ! Cheers my friend :))
Quite well timed as I just pulled out stiff upper lip to listen to. They're a solid band. I'd say their 80s stuff is very underated due to the success of BiB, especially fly on the wall. Personally I think they should have called it a day after the black ice album as I thought it would be a strong album to finish on. Fav album probs for those about to rock. Fav song twos up, razors edge and burnin' alive. 🤘 Ps the bonfire box set is worth getting if you don't already have it 🤘
Nice to see you mention Fly On The Wall , I think it’s a good album ! I don’t have the Bonfire box set , I really want to pick that up this year , thanks for the reminder . Take care GRock 🤘
With Highway and Back In Black .. . . it's like the old days of split national champions in football. HTH took the coaches poll and Black the AP. And both sides are saying "man if we ever would have gotten a chance to play you, we would have killed you guys!" :)
When you saw AC/DC on the Blow Up tour, was Malcolm in the band or Stevie? I saw them for the first time on that tour with Malcolm. There were bits and pieces i agreed with you on this ranking, mostly i would say i'd put them in different order. With some albums very different placings, with others just next to it. Pasi
You know I haven’t thought about that for years , but when I saw the Blow Up Your Video tour it was Stevie on rhythm guitar and not Malcolm , he was getting help for his drinking problem , great question ! Cheers 🤘
Another great ranking video Darcy. Looks like we had a similar path getting into AC/DC and both of us bought Flick of the Switch as our first AC/DC album (guessing were close in age). Completely agree with your top pick but I would put Back in Black as #2 😀. Unfortunately radio has overplayed many of these songs. Cool that you kept your concert tickets, wish I did that.
I just turned 51 in December . I was so excited for Flick Of The Switch to come out , my first new AC/DC release , ‘83 was a big year in my Metal journey ! I think your right about the radio overplaying some songs & it seemed that AC/DC music was featured in every movie I watched lol . After hearing Hells Bells there was no turning back , that song was a game changer for me ! Take care Billy ⚡️
I’m not exactly sure where I’d place it yet , but it would be fairly high , I really enjoy Power Up , best album since The Razor’s Edge in my opinion ! Hope all is good Sam ⚡️ Stay Safe
Seen them once with Axl, damn great show! I would've preferred Brian, though, obviously haha. Also, Bedlam In Belgium is such a good track. Worthy of being a classic, sadly often overlooked
You know when that whole hearing issues happened with Brian I was yelling get Marc Storace from Krokus , would of be a great choice imo , but gotta sell those seats right !! Yes Bedlam In Belgium is a classic ! Take care ~ Darcy
Two icons of rock and roll passed in 1980 Bon Scott and of course John Lennon. Both their passings are still vivid in my memory where i was what i was doing hearing about it on the news. A bit of trivia people may be surprised to know Bon Scott was not the original singer of ACDC
That’s for sure , two true legends ! That’s right Dave Evans was the original singer , a lot of people don’t know that ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
For the life of me I can’t remember who opened , I want to say Tesla but I’m not sure that’s right ! I still have the ticket stub but it does not say the opener on it , $20 for that show 😂🤣 Remember the days when a concert was affordable !!
So many great albums and not easy to do for me. 1. Razors Edge- this was my first ACDC cd I grew up listening to. I just love Thunderstruck, Moneytalks, the title track and fire your guns. Maybe only 2 songs I dont care for but the rest I really enjoy and love Brian's vocals on here. His voice is so funny at times as well. Almost like hes purposely trying to be extra raspy. 2. Let There Be Rock- I just love the title track and whole lotta Rosie. My top 2 favorite bon scott songs of all time. Not a bad song on this album as well. Near perfect expect I dont understand why we have problem child on here and Dirty Deeds. 3. Back in Black- most have this at number 1 and although it's all killer no filler like Let There Be Rock. I have listening to many of these songs so much over the years that I sometimes grow sick of this album. But I will admit it deserves to be 1 of the top 3 to 5 best and understand why many say its number 1 but I just enjoy 2 more albums a bit more. 4. Highway to Hell- another awesome album. Only maybe 2 songs I dont care on here. But so many great songs especially my favorite Touch Too Much, Girls Got Rhythm and Walk all over You. The title track is good but definitely not my favorite on this album and I have overheard it too much as well. 5. Flick of the Switch- like Let There Be Rock another very underrated album this is like the Powerage of Brian Johnson era. So amazing with only the last 3 songs being weak. 6. Powerage- it seemed obvious this was my next pick after praising it before 7. Stiff Upper Lip- I went to this concert and it was Awesome. I really enjoy the blues sounds from this album. It reminds me of there debut album. I know many would say this is worse than their 1st album but I just enjoy this 1 more and like Brian's vocals on here and well 8. High Voltage- I love this blues rock debut. Only 3 songs i dont care for. 9. Black Ice- another concert I went to and I just love the title track. I will admit this album has the most acdc filler with way too many songs being something rock and roll which but to be honest every album has those songs since the debut with long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. But I will admit ACDC most albums except for a few I mention with almost every track being good are known for having forgettable tracks outside of the hits off that album. The albums that dont have this problem for me are 1 through 6. 7 and up have their fair share of forgettable tracks. 10. BallBreaker 11. Dirty Deeds 12. For Those About to Rock 13. Rock or Bust 14. Fly on the Wall 15. Blow Up your video- easily the worse for me and many of their albums have this formula where your like beside heatseeker and the other music video hit or 2 songs, what else is on here. Not much of anything else. High Voltage, Dirty Deeds, For Those about to Rock, Fly on the Wall, Blow up your Video, BallBreaker, and the rest after ballbreaker all have this problem with half to most of these cds having filler for me. I still enjoy songs on these albums but some hits I enjoyed more than others or overall liked more songs on 1 album vs another.
Fantastic ranking , I really enjoyed reading all your thoughts ! I think for a lot of people that got into AC/DC in between ‘74 - ‘90 will usually pick the first album they heard as their favourite ! I don’t dismiss the albums from ‘95 to ‘14 , just not as strong in my opinion ! Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada 🤘
Oliver Queen I like Blow Up Your Video. They have worse albums. At least it’s upbeat and fun. Malcolm really liked that album. It’s underrated. Each to their own though
@@JCStorm76 what is your ranking? I'm sorry maybe I should say Fly on the Wall is the worse. My top 7 will probably always be the same. I know many hate stiff Upper lip but maybe because it was my first concert I saw of theirs and bought there cd there and enjoyed the concert that it made me like that cd more. Plus I like how it sounds most similar to their older stuff of the 70s. It's got that bluesy rock sound on many tracks noticed on powerage and high Voltage. I wouldnt say blow up your video is terrible to me but most forgettable outside of the 2 music videos the album made. I cant remember much of anything else on it. Maybe I should try listening to every track again on that album.
Oliver Queen No problem. Yeah maybe give it another listen, it’s quite good really. I also like Stiff Upper Lip. I prefer it over Ballbreaker anyway. My ranking is on this page if you want to check it out
My list 1. Back In Black 2. Highway To Hell 3. Powerage 4. Fly On The Wall 5. Let There Be Rock 6. PWR UP 7. For Those About To Rock 8. The Razors Edge 9. High Voltage 10. Black Ice 11. Flick Of The Switch 12. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 13. Rock Or Bust 14. Stiff Upper Lip 15. BallBreaker 16. Blow Up Your Video If anyone is wondering why Fly on the wall is so up high, that album just gives me this vibe that no other album does and I really enjoy it. Dirty deeds, I’m not saying is a bad album, but I feel like it’s 12 for me. Neither of these albums are terrible. I jam out to every single one of them. I don’t hate any of these albums
Thanks for sharing your ranking John ! As you can see from my ranking I really enjoy Fly On The Wall too , it was actually my second AC/DC album bought as a new release , Flick Of The Switch being the first ! Good to see your enjoying Power Up ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 thanks. This list was so hard to create because, Stiff Upper Lip and BallBreaker, even tho it’s at the bottom, I was just jamming out to those albums like it’s my #1 favorite
my rank would be like: 16-Rock or bust 15-Fly on the wall 14- stiff upper 13- black ice 12- flick 11-razors edge 10- ballbreakerr 9- for those 8-Power up 7- Blow up your video 6- High voltage 5- Dirty deeds 4-Let there be rock 3- Back in black 2- Highway 1- Powerage
Definitely a great example with Iron Maiden , Bruce fit in immediately & helped take them to the next level , I’m just happy they recognize Paul‘s contributions , Judas Priest needs to do the same with the Ripper era !
Also looking forward to Ripper resurfacing with K.K. Downing and former Priest drummer Les Binks in their new band "K.K.'s Priest". The album is almost ready.
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I'm also glad they recognize the Blaze Bayley period. "The Sign of the Cross" and "The Clansman" are great songs, and continue to be live staples in their current setlist.
Angus scootin across the stage with his one legged hop hitting them chords is one of the most rock & roll things of all time 🎸
Love that you had Flick Of The Switch so high! Its a great album!! All strong tracks
I love the simplicity of that album , right down to the album cover ! Not everything needs extra polish to gleam lol . Thanks David ⚡️ Power Up
😃👍
Great ranking, AC/DC has always been my favorite band. Their first 13 international albums are pure gold. Black Ice was a mixed bag and I wasn't crazy about their newest one

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thank you! That is good to hear that we'll get some guitar from Malcolm. I'm looking forward to that!
With a flick of the switch I blow u sky high 🇬🇧 i love AC\DC deep in the hole down in the hole
I love that album ⚡️
Great ranking! My first AC/DC album was also ”Flick of the switch”, still got it, still play it! The best albums is from the beginning right up until that album I think. After that I really like Ballbreaker and Stiff upper lip. There are som great songs on them, Hard as a rock, Whiskey on the rocks, Ballbreaker, Stiff upper lip, Meltdown, House of jazz and Satelite blues are great!
1- Back in Black

Hi Darcy
I’d switch the top two around
1. Powerage - every track a killer and Bon’s singing spot on, Angus on fire and Malcolm’s playing crisp
2. Highway To Hell - for me, not quite at the same level but a bit more polished and has lost some of the rawness that made them awesome
3. Back In Black - I’d put this just slightly higher than ‘Let There Be Rock’
For me, Brian Johnson not as dangerous or wild as Bon, and I didn’t think anything after BIB compares with anything the band did with Bon Scott (RIP
I went to a record shop and swapped a couple of old electro albums for Powerage in around 1979. the sleeve was battered but the vinyl pristine
Saw them in the mid 90’s ... great live act
Bonfire is a great release
🤘
Great top 3 Paul ! I like what said about Bon Scott , he was definitely on the wild side ! I put Bonfire on the list , I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up yet ! Thanks as always 🤘
paul elliott Thnx , you pretty much wrote my review
All this Powerage hype - damn. Never got it. Thought it was pretty weak all in all compared to predecessor and definitely compared to the next one.
My all time favourite: "Let There Be Rock". The early albums sound raunchy, the way rock is supposed to.
@@Twotontessie powerage rules☝🏻start to finish their best💕
Awesome AC/DC ranking, Darcy!
Thanks Tony 🤘
I really liked Meanstreak on the Blow up your Video album. It's got a cool hook to it.
Honk your horn next time you see me 🤣
Thanks for posting. Definitely gonna watch this after I finish up with the Ozzy albums.
Your always welcome & thanks for watching 🤘 Enjoy
My top 10:
1: Back In Black
2: Fly On The Wall
3: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
4: Ballbreaker
5: Highway To Hell
6: Blow Up Your Video
7: Flick Of The Switch
8: POWER UP

You bet I like Fates Warning ! I’m missing a few from their discography , I hope to get them soon , then we will see what I can do about a ranking ! I’m pretty picky about ranking videos , I have to own all the albums & know them , I don’t like half assing it lol ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 cool I understand my friend stay frosty 🤘

BIB 1980 (even though it’s Brian Johnson)
Thanks for the rankings 👍
Great list ! I’m a big Bon Scott fan , but really enjoy Brian’s work too ! Give Flick Of The Switch a try , its a straight forward rocker ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives no worries man! Same with me! Rock on, peace from Australia 👍
Great ranking! I just did mine not too long ago. Matt's Metal Show!! Highway has always been my fav too!!! Love it!!!!
That’s cool Matt I will sub your channel right now & I’ll be over later to check out your videos ! See you soon 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 you are AWESOME 🤘
A very nice lineup! I’m not sure what my whole list would be...but my favorite AC/DC record is “for those about to rock (we salute you)”
Thanks Mike !
Great top 5 , you can’t go wrong with those ! Oh ya Flick Of The Switch & Powerage are awesome ! Cheers Jamie 🤘
Excellent list! It is damn near impossible to rate the Top 5 as it could change based on how I feel that day. Highway To Hell, Powerage, Let There Be Rock, Flick Of The Switch and For Those About To Rock...all flawless!
It’s nice to see a good mix of Bon & Brian albums at the top , all classics ... flawless yes ⚡️ Take care Mike
Btw, congratulations on passing the 900 subs mark!! You are flying my friend & well deserved dude!!🤘🏻
I’ve never been a big ACDC fan, just one of those bands that I really struggle with but it was good to hear your background growing up with them and the shows you’ve seen.
I hear ya Scott , we all can’t like everything can we ! We both love Savatage 🤣 that’s what counts ! Cheers mate
In near future I will upload my AC/DC video :P Stay tuned Darcy
I’ll be watching that , I’m interested on your thoughts on AC⚡️DC
Very good ranking! Flick of the switch is very underrated and one of my favorite album with Brian.
I love that album , It was actually my first AC/DC album that I bought on release day , i’ll never forget how excited I was lol . Thanks for watching ⚡️ Take care ~ Darcy
My favorite with Brian after Back in black
My top 5 would be:
5. Flick of the Switch
4. Dirty Deeds
3. Back in Black
2. For Those About to Rock
1. Highway to Hell
Thanks again Darcy another fine job and as always stay heavy!!🤘🤘🤘
Rankings are never easy , but they are a lot of fun ! I always remind myself when doing them to be honest with myself & give my personal experience with each band , you’ll never please everybody lol .
A Few Favorite Songs Ranked as Best I Can:
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 You're very welcome sir! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the ranking of AC/DC! I just ordered "Flick of the Switch" never knew about that album!! Thanks, great video!
Thank you very much ! Your in for a treat with Flick Of The Switch ⚡️ Cheers Lawrence
Cheers James ⚡️ PWR UP
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Fantastic track! I love the section right before the chorus where Brian proclaims he's "TOSSIN' AND TURNIN'!"
1. Let there be Rock
2. Highway to hell
3. Powerage
4. High Voltage
5. Back in Black
Spot on!
Might put Powerage at No2
@@nickbaker1963 Back in Black is better than Let there be Rock it's there list B H but it's out of order?
3,1,5,2,4,Dirty, For Those, Switch, Power Up, as you want.
@@nicolacambi9671 do you have time to write down your list so we can see what's happening?
#1 is indeed #1. I also agree with you on Rock or Bust being dead last, as well as the positioning for Black Ice, Back in Black and Flick of the Switch, albeit for different reasons in the case of the last two. The only ones I'd disagree on really are High Voltage, Razors and Stiff Upper Lip, I'd place them higher than you (and Powerage lower)
Also wondering where you'd put the new Power Up, I'd put it smack in the middle, somewhere in the vicinity of Stiff Upper Lip and Ballbreaker.
16. Rock Or Bust (title cut)
15. Blow Up Your Video (That's The Way I Rock 'N' Roll)
14. Fly On The Wall
13. Black Ice (War Machine)
12. For Those About To Rock (title cut and Put The Finger On You)
11. Highway To Hell
10. Powerup
9. The Razor's Edge
8. Stiff Upper Lips (title cut, Safe In New York City)
7. Let There Be Rock (Whole Lotta Rosie great live on If You Want Blood) Dog Eat Dog
6. Ballbreaker (title cut, The Furor)
5. Powerage (What's Next To The Moon)
4. Flick Of The Switch (Deep In The Hole)
basic rock in rawhide, instead basic black and motorcycle studs, shir ain't Judas Priest, lol. But fit solid between Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith.
the top three sure are near great albums - 9 out ten to perfection:
3. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (title cut, Big Balls and Squaler top three favorites) not really a weak track
2. Back In Black (Given The Dog A Bone, You Shook Me All Night Long, What Do You Do For Money) not really a weak track
LOL
GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME ROCK 'N' ROLL rip Bon Scott and Malcolm Young
Critics didn't seem to like AC/DC in north America for some reason.
Great choice for your #1 , I’ve always loved that album ! Can’t go wrong with AC⚡️DC
Flick of the Switch is my favorite Brian Johnson record. Great ranking!
Great choice , it’s been one of my favourites since the day it came out ! Thanks very much John ⚡️
😃👍
Great video, Darcy. I had to watch this video. Lol. Great number 1 pick and great to see Flick Of The Switch high up on your list. So underrated that album.
1. Black In Black
2. Powerage
3. Highway To Hell
4. Let There Be Rock
5. Flick Of The Switch
Thanks Peter ! After watching your AC/DC videos I’m tempted to get a few of my favourites on vinyl ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives Yes, great idea, Darcy. It’s great to listen to AC/DC on vinyl. Always loved your channel.
I like the jail break CD and BBC live CD both classics 🇬🇧
Flick Of The Switch is a brilliant album agree with you on that ranking number.
For those about to rock was my introduction love that album still love and listen to them not as much as before
I’m the same way , I listened to so much AC/DC back in the day , definitely not as much these days ! I always like hear about the album that got you into a band , it always means so much more to you doesn’t it ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘

Thank you 🤘 much appreciated ! I was trying to think of another singer change from the result of a death , but I was drawing a blank 😳

Yes !! Good thinking !

Wow.

13. Fly On The Wall
14. Black Ice

The two albums you have are really good , just not there best imo , try a few more & see what you think ! Thanks for stopping in Zach ⚡️
1. Powerage (without any doubt!)
2. Highway To Hell (Night Prowler, yeah!!)
3. Back In Black
4. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
5. Flick Of The Switch (love the dusty sounding production!)
6. High Voltage
7. Let There Be Rock
8. Blow Up Your Video (Two's up!)
9. For Those About To Rock
10. Ballbreaker (I was at this tour, opening in germany: The Wildhearts)
11. Rock Or Bust (surprisingly good with some groove and tempo changes)
12. Fly On The Wall
13. Stiff Upper Lip
14. The Razors Edge (only song I always switch: Thunderstruck! Not a big fan of the Bruce Fairbain production here, too)
15. Power Up (I find it a bit boring)
Auto pilot :))) yeah, guess we like our AC/Albums in a similiar way and order. Cheers from germany. Hear ya...
Their best album according to me is Back In Black and then the 2nd best is Highway To Hell. Brilliant albums. 🤘😎
The rest of the albums I'm not sure how to rank them but they sure have many classic classics.
Still raisin' power,
Jarkko/MyVinylBar
Okay sounds good
My top 10 for AC/DC, 1 being great and 10 being good are as follows: 1.
A few thoughts:
> Like most of us around our age, Who Made Who was my introduction to the band.
I stopped after BUYV, never liked it beyond the two singles (they should throw those onto Who Made Who!)
> I also prefer the Bon Scott albums the most, and on any given day any of them could be a favourite, though I usually gravitate to Let There Be Rock And Dirty Deeds, personally. I thin that it was less a matter of vocalist though and more the blues-drenched style of the early years.
> Fav AC/DC tracks: The Jack, Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, Rocker, Shake Your Foundations
Cheers!
Cheers!

Ha ha thanks ! The Poor doesn’t ring a bell , in fact I’ve never heard of them , if they were the opener I must of been in the beer line ! Cheers 🍻
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 😁
Killer ranking Darcy 🤘great hard rock band from my neck of the woods. I don’t have anything after Back in Black, I prefer Bon era AC/DC 🤘my all time favourite song is Jailbreak.
Thanks Brendan ! You just reminded me to pick up ‘74 Jailbreak on CD , I’ve had the cassette since the day it was released . Check out Flick Of The Switch ⚡️ Cheers mate
7. Let There Be Rock 3. Back In Black
6. Flick Of The Switch 2. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
5. Highway To Hell 1. Powerage
4. High Voltage
These are my 5 favorite AC/DC albums.
1/ Powerage
2/ Highway to hell
3/ Back in black
4/ High Voltage
5/ Flick of the Switch
Great Top 5 you have ⚡️
Back in black is definitely awesome. It’s a masterpiece. But I just like the feel of the bon Scott era more. The sounds were just more fun to me.
Me too ! Bon was a real showman , tons of charisma ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Canada
Call me crazy but I like fly on the wall. Sink the pink 🇬🇧
You're not crazy by a long shot! It's a great album!
We are pretty close on your ranking , but I would put Powerage at number one!
🤘Thanks
I played the shit out of Highway To Hell as a kid , I think that why I love it so much , most fond memories ! Powerage is awesome ! Cheers ⚡️
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Lol, that's how I was with Powerage!!
I totally get it!!
Both great albums.
I definitely love Bon era AC/DC better!!
good review bro👌🏼nice and positive made your least favourite sound worthy☝🏻
Thanks very much 🤘 Cheers from Canada
It has ALWAYS been Powerage for me. Flawless album...
Sorry for the late reply ! Ya Powerage is a great album , not a bad track & a perfect length for a AC/DC album ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Power Up 🤘
For me also👍
I really like your fair ranking 👍
Thank you 🤘 much appreciated ! Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
With Highway and Back In Black .. . . it's like the old days of split national champions in football. HTH took the coaches poll and Black the AP. And both sides are saying "man if we ever would have gotten a chance to play you, we would have killed you guys!" :)
That’s a great analogy ! You already know who I’m picking in that match :)) Cheers 🍻
Cheers 🤘
My favorite song from them as for those about to Rock
Killer track , that one rules live when those cannons go off ... FIRE 💥 ... we salute you ! Cheers Craig
Power Up is a return to solid AC/DC
Where would you rank Ac/Dc’s new album, Power Up? For me it’s pretty high up
I’m not exactly sure where I’d place it yet , but it would be fairly high , I really enjoy Power Up , best album since The Razor’s Edge in my opinion !
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Honestly, Axl was fantastic!
Have a nice day
Two icons of rock and roll passed in 1980 Bon Scott and of course John Lennon.
Not sure on the North American leg, but the Blow up Your Video tour support here in the UK was Dokken
For the life of me I can’t remember who opened , I want to say Tesla but I’m not sure that’s right ! I still have the ticket stub but it does not say the opener on it , $20 for that show 😂🤣 Remember the days when a concert was affordable !!
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 yeah. I paid 110 gbp for an arena ticket to see metallica on the hardwired tour. Ridiculous
6. Powerage- it seemed obvious this was my next pick after praising it before
7. Stiff Upper Lip- I went to this concert and it was Awesome. I really enjoy the blues sounds from this album. It reminds me of there debut album. I know many would say this is worse than their 1st album but I just enjoy this 1 more and like Brian's vocals on here and well
10. BallBreaker
11. Dirty Deeds
12. For Those About to Rock
13. Rock or Bust
14. Fly on the Wall
My ranking is on this page if you want to check it out
I like your list cause you give props to razors and stiff upper lip! Two of my favorites and they don’t get enough respect
My list
1. Back In Black
2. Highway To Hell
3. Powerage
4. Fly On The Wall
5. Let There Be Rock
6. PWR UP
7. For Those About To Rock
8. The Razors Edge
9. High Voltage
10. Black Ice
11. Flick Of The Switch
12. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
13. Rock Or Bust
14. Stiff Upper Lip
15. BallBreaker
16. Blow Up Your Video
If anyone is wondering why Fly on the wall is so up high, that album just gives me this vibe that no other album does and I really enjoy it.
I’d like to see an Iced Earth ranking.
I’m still missing a few but I hope to get to it eventually , same with Helstar ! Thanks for the request Charles 🤘
Agree with #1, although #2 has my favorite AC/DC song-Sin City.
Hello Mark 👋 how the heck are you ? Sin City is a great track , Iron Saviour did a pretty good cover on their latest album . Take care ~ Darcy
Ballbreaker in my opinion is the 3rd best Brian Johnson album behind Flick of the Switch and Back in Black.
my rank would be like:
16-Rock or bust
15-Fly on the wall
14- stiff upper
13- black ice
12- flick
11-razors edge
10- ballbreakerr
9- for those
8-Power up
7- Blow up your video
6- High voltage
5- Dirty deeds
4-Let there be rock
3- Back in black
2- Highway
1- Powerage
Great list ! Nice to see Power Up right there in the middle of the pack , great album ! Thanks for watching ⚡️ Cheers from Saskatchewan Camada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 thank you, nice video. Power up is actually very solid, realize and witch spell took the album. Cheers from Argentina
The other band that did great with a vocalist change? Iron Maiden! I loved Paul Di'Anno, but Bruce Dickinson's voice put them over the top.
Definitely a great example with Iron Maiden , Bruce fit in immediately & helped take them to the next level , I’m just happy they recognize Paul‘s contributions , Judas Priest needs to do the same with the Ripper era !
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Agreed.
