This video was so helpful! I had a service airbag light on in my 2003 Chevy Avalanche and this video gave me some much needed information. Keep up the good content!
Of all the videos I've watched, nobody has mentioned that these (or other parts) don't need reprogramming. However, when I installed my impact sensor, the warnings were still active. Long story short, my scan tool was not up to the job of taking care of that system. So, what my dealership called 'reprogramming", I actually Tim to my local TRUSTED mechanic and him remove the code. He didn't even charge me. What a guy!
Yep, for this vehicle no programming is necessary. Just need to clear the code. Most basic scanners can't handle it because it's part of the ABS System.
Correct, no guarantee.. what kills these sensors is corrosion. If you can get one off of ebay for 20-25 dollars, from a different part of the country, or from a junkyard without corrosion involved they'll be fine. Only oem sensors for this kind of stuff.... Sensor runs around 160-170 for this sensor new.

Do these vehicles need reprogramming after installing new sensor?
No

How long would you recommend me to have the battery disconnected before removing the sensor
It just needs to be disconnected.
@@CharlesAndCars thanks man
If this is such an issue, why are you buying salvage yard parts. No guarantee
