Yes, in theory. But that also sounds like an incredibly boring video. Maybe a format that puts forward both good and bad examples would be more entertaining. Top Ten Games to Play for Rulebook Designers? The Top Games to Play for Game Designers was interesting because it allowed for positive and negative examples.
@@jameswoodard4304 I agree. Examples of something done poorly are often more instructive than examples of the opposite. I was just trying to be positive. But it's true, the DT doesn't totally shy away from negativity like a lot of orgs do, so why not. You're right, do a mix.
Really enjoy Valeria Card Kingdoms and Quests of Valeria (one of the very few beat-your-own-score solo modes I like) solo. Will almost certainly pick this one up! THANK YOU for reviewing a solo-only game on the channel!!
The folding board issue might be easily solved by flexing the fold the "Wrong way"... certainly solved my issues with the boards in Valeria CK Darksworn. I was hesitant to try it at first, but it definitely worked...
Anybody know the font that is used on the cards in this game like at 6:23? I feel like I see it a lot. I don't think it's great for text, it seems more like a display font, but I'm curious what exact font it is.
@Daily Magic Games Oh, no need to apologize. I wouldn't say it has poor legibility, only that it seemed odd to use it for display and text. That is, as the name of the character it's fine, but I would have used something different for the action text. I appreciate the response however. I didn't think I'd get one, especially not from the company. That's definitely not a Caslon though. It's far too ornamental to be a Caslon. No, I figured it out, it's "Dwarven Axe BB". Thanks though!
We should celebrate good rulebooks more to encourage publishers to do better. Maybe DT could make a Top 10 Rulebooks video?

Got this one on the way, was on the fence about it but glad your review supported my back 😅

The board uses "valley fold" style to allow easy counter-bending to achieve a flat layout.
I think I’ll stick with Under Falling Skies for now. Once I “finish” that I will look to other solo games I think. Thanks for the review
The Dice Tower = The Coolest Folks 😎🔥👍
That faces at 21:43 :D
100% agree with you re the rulebooks. I despise that font they use. Yuk
Would it be fair to say this is very similar to the solo mode of Valeria Card Kingdoms?
I would say it's vastly different.

It';s Caslon Old-style...and we won't be using it any more. Those 3 small games were the last with that font. Sorry for the poor legibility.

Can you guys zoom out a little bit. Seems too close
Dilisio's 8 became a 9 on the dial.
His finger is pointing right at 8 which I think is the idea; but yeah it took me a second as well since Chris' avatar just uses center mass.
@@DariusOne1 Ah, I didn't spot that. 👍
Is than an OLD shirt Chris? it kind of has that worn look like it came from the 80s.
Rulebooks are the same issues I've had with their games.
$30… sounds good
Mike’s pronunciation of “ballista” threw me off on the whole rules explanation.
Maybe his Italian heritage is coming out and forcing a more Latin pronunciation? I noticed it too.
