I think my favorite part of everyone of these videos, is the pure joy and excitement / pride and astonishment on their faces when they land the sick tricks. It’s fucking priceless, they themselves can’t believe they did it. So good.
The thing about that trick is that it has been trending to the point of showing up in a ton of major contests. I can assume they are just starting to get used to seeing it enough to not see it as the same kind of special it used to be.
Exactly like Cole said; that trick is incredibly overdone by every contest skater these days. And not that it would affect his score but it also looks gross as fuck no matter how clean. More spins or flips doesn't mean cooler trick
also, one more thing, i love the skater culture, or at least, from what i see, it dont matter who you are, everybody is proud and everybody is encouraging. the crowd only boos when the they think the scores are too low XD i love it.

I dislike the commentator saying a rock is skating, yes, if your street skating, but to have a rock on a SLS championship with the top 8 skaters in the world is a joke. If this contest was outside and on a real world course yes, but not on a man made course that you designed and keep.

The brand new concrete chipped during the warm ups and first runs and a piece was laying on the course. What do you want them to do, sweep the entire floor after every run?

Chris Cole says Gustavo's 8.9 is overdone in contests, but it was the first time in this final, yet nyjah's run was done twice in the finals and scored in the 9 range for both. Gustavo Ribeiro deserved the win man, nyjah did do hammers, big ups to that, but street league is rigged for sure (Reason I stopped watching street league for some time) Gustavo should've won this one!
it can be a bit boring, but when people do interesting stuff, it makes it twice as exciting, especially on youtube its easy to skip to the tricks and just watch it all very quickly. And watching this IRL should be exciting even if they do the same tricks.
The fact that they could do the hard, technical trick again with no struggle is a feat in itself. The extra length to put on a good show for the audience is just positively remarkable to put that mental strain of trying to win over the crowd and boost points, but I gotta say we all wanna see how deep they could go with their bag of tricks in a 45 sec run w/o injuring themselves

I think he needs to add some new tricks to impress the judges. He's been doing the same tricks for a long time now. Also he's not skating the trasitions. Nyjah learnt how to skate transitions and his runs look much better now.

Nyjah is so smart. He lets the more sick maneuvers for the end, but anyway all him maneuvers are sick! In my opinion, Nyjah's the best man skater in world.
Two things. Manny showed how cool skaters are in competitions. He told Gustavo, "you gotta do your run again" because he knew it was a rare gift to be able to try again and get a better score. Secondly, why haven't they implemented a scoring system where your docked points for doing the same run? If you get a 9.0 for a run and do the same run in your second attempt, you should only be able to get a max score of 1 point lower than the first run. So the second run would score an 8. If it needs to be lowered, I'm ok with that. Btw, changing one trick shouldn't count as a new run unless it's on a completely different line
I really wish they would not do a top 8. I think it should only be top 5 but with more events; run, best trick ON DIFFERENT OBSTACLES (box/ledge, rail/drop, kicker/gap... Etc) it would really showcase the different styles and strengths of skaters more and remove the pretense that there is competition between guys like Santiago and Huston. I think Manny is great and an incredible skater but I have a suspicion he is there more for his television appropriate personality than for his skill. We already got into the Olympics fam let's stop pretending that a 9 is anything more than an absolute minimum requirement to medal.

I really wish they would not do a top 8. I think it should only be top 5 but with more events; run, best trick ON DIFFERENT OBSTACLES (box/ledge, rail/drop, kicker/gap... Etc) it would really showcase the different styles and strengths of skaters more and remove the pretense that there is competition between guys like Santiago and Huston.
I think Manny is great and an incredible skater but I have a suspicion he is there more for his television appropriate personality than for his skill. We already got into the Olympics fam let's stop pretending that a 9 is anything more than an absolute minimum requirement to medal.
