If anyone is having trouble finding the config, you can also try going to your windows search bar and typing %appdata% and navigating to Discovery , then Saved, then Config, then Windows Client. If you cant see the config file, there’s a chance that it is being hidden by your computer settings. Go to file explorer options, then go to view, and then check the box that says show hidden files and folders. It should be said that if you do this, you will be shown a lot more files than normal, as this applies to all hidden files, and if you want to turn this off just uncheck the box.
Hey Ronin, isn't changing the files an exploit? It seems unfair that PC players can do something like this and console players can't. It also seems like of course an intentional way to try and balance cross play lobbies.
It’s disabling something that makes it so that your aim isn’t 1 to 1, and it only effects KBM - aim smoothing does not do anything at all to controller players. The devs don’t ban for doing this, and the only thing the setting you are disabling does in the first place is artificially try to smooth your aim out - hopefully that clears things up. Configs have historically only been exploits if they allow you to do something that is normally not humanly possible such as ridiculous macros or breaking the game engine - and in this case, you are actually disabling a config, so it’s the exact opposite of an exploit. It’s just turning a very buried setting off
@@ronin_fps Gotcha gotcha, just wanted to be sure so everyone is having fun is all. Not trying to be a stickler or anything. Thank you for the tips, they are all pretty great!
useful tip that I learned playing as heavy (someone prob already made a vid about this idk), is that if you're running the barricade cover you can pick it up and place it back down even if it's been damaged. so, for example, if your barricade has been damaged to the point where there's basically no cover and just a plank left standing, pick it up and place it back down to have a fully reset barricade. I do this method on platform and its very useful, especially in fights where I'm still waiting on the barricade to finish its cool down to place another one.
@@boldisordorin9010 mouse smoothing tries to remove the like shakiness in mouse input, but it adds latency and makes ur aim not 1 to 1 with ur mouse. Disabling it will improve latency and make aim 1 to 1
2:57 It's sad that someone might need this advice. I don't know what's going on in the heads of my random teammates who jump to steal the cashout while people are still up and fighting all around.
@@bread7219 yeah me too, sometimes there's so much noise going on that people don't notice, or notice too late. For the last tip, inversely, is there a way to find out how the aim smoothing works? Is there any information on the acceleration curve they use? My aim feels so much better in this game than in others, is there a way to replicate it?
2:55 The problem is that sometimes when the cashout is about to end, you don't have time to kill everybody so it's better to try to avoid enemies (easier if you're light since you got cloaking and dash) especially if that determines if you win or lose
Do you have an idea of what aim smoothing does? Can't believe something like that is hidden. Also, did NOT know goo slowed down the platform. Good tips!
It makes it so that you do not have completely raw input on your aim, and the game grid to “smooth” things out for you. Unfortunately this usually only makes your aim works and builds bad aiming habits

I’m fairly sure that aim smoothing only effects KBM, as controller aim kinda has that by default. If anything, aim smoothing makes mouse and keyboard aim feel more like controller than normal - I’d have to do more testing, but as mentioned previously, I don’t think controller is effected by this setting. I think aim labs supports controller, so just try to do tracking exercises if you want aim training applicable to the finals and games like apex, that’s the most advice I can give on controller aiming besides crosshair placement
