You don't want to know how much I spent for a case of 45 shots of 8x10 Polaroid Type 803 that turned out to have dried up chemicals on all 45 sheets. But when it works....

Next time your rz67 locks up switch the camera to fully mechanical. The shutter speed will be fixed at 1/400 second so adjust your aperture to give you the correct exposure. Always have a spare battery or two for this camera because when it’s low the camera becomes a nightmare and locks up. Plus get a light meter to accurately measure light so less overexposed shots. Plus time development of the Polaroid/ Fuji FP 100 takes 90 seconds (temperature varies time) slowly peel the corner of the Polaroid to see if the image has formed properly. If not let the image develop for more time. Check the corner then peel. Voila

I sell my RZ because I can’t find any fp100b/c a reasonable price.. i loved it so much.
    - Keep the film under your armpit for like a full minute to be sure the chemicals do his work.
    - when you pull the photo out, press the back against your chest to try to press the rolls. Sometimes it helps with old films
    I miss my RZ.. ✌🏻

It's unbelievable to me that no one makes professional peel apart. I remember one company that was starting to make it again, but then they charge just as much as it cost to get old Fuji peel apart and it doesn't even develop evenly and looks all sepia and terrible.

  • @donbrooks8479

When your battery dies on you RZ , you can still fire the shutter. On the shutter button there is a red dot for lock, a orange dot for when battery dies override. Push the the little white button on the bottom and turn shutter button to orange to engage the override. Bro make sure to clean your rollers inside your polaroid back. I use a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. I hope this help save you ass! Peace!

If too much pressure gets put onto the film packet in the middle, the developer gets released before you take the picture. Chemicals don’t sound like they got dried out so you could’ve grabbed the packet too hard in the middle or in shipping as well.

  • @maryjanebarela8471

Yea, Polaroid stopped making that film a long time ago. Fujifilm still produced it but stopped in like 2017. That’s why they’re so expensive. There is a small company that hand crafts the film and it’s a bit expensive but it’s good.

Fuji have been pulling out of film production for a good while. When studio photographers went digital then there wasn't a need for the FP100 so it was one of the first big ones to go. Lomography have had a long time to do it if they could, so sadly I don't see that happening.
It was always quite a juicy/wet process. Seem to remember that you had to pull out the sheet in a slow deliberate way for the right amount of squidge.

the photographs that you saw on the photobook were probably scans from the "negative" of the polaroid. Most people just peel off the other side of the polaroid and throw them away just to keep the polaroid, but if you keep that other side and put it thru a bleaching process, you can make prints and enlargements from it just as any negative film like portra400s, etc. Little shame that you just threw it on the ground.
