Don't forget Zion National Park! It's a stretch but in reach.
One tip always ask what the resort fee covers because in addition to the basics internet, pools etc.. Many hotels resort fees include amenities that not obvious and the hotels do not willingly tell you-for instance maybe the hotel offers a free or discounted car service or vouchers for the bars in the hotel. If you don't ask they won't volunteer the information. It is also illegal in Vegas to hail cabs so don't do it and if you Uber around ask where to wait for the Uber because where your Uber dropped you off may not be the same place they can pick you up. Security personnel are all over the casinos and they are more than happy to assist you in any questions or concerns. Thanks Walter for the great Vegas videos. Have a great weekend everyone!
Thanks for the extra tips Mac!
Ohh good to know about asking for the inclusions. And taxi vs Uber.
Also he’s kind man, he won’t correct you love- it’s Mark Wolter.
One tip you missed is the bus that runs up and down the strip and cost eight 8 dollars for 24hrs depends on traffic can save you time and walking
We had so much fun! Thanks for an awesome time! 😍 Y’all rock!! ❤️❤️
It was fun enjoying Vegas with you!
Omg!! I couldn’t resist one night and had a teeny tiny bottle of JD from my mini bar. I knew it was gonna be expensive and I made a choice to splurge on the ... $22.75 mini bottle! Lol. Ya, I really wanted it. No complaints. But be forewarned
What’s up with the escalators that aren’t working??!!!
And Band AIDS!! Bring band aids
@@woltersworld Hello super class videos 👍
Thanks for doing our city justice unlike some local RUclipsrs. You always do a great job
Thank you also for stressing the point of tipping. The local hospitality industry appreciates it
True that.
As a local, I'm loving all the content! There's so much to do on and off strip it can totally be overwhelming to new visitors.
We can’t wait to get back to your city (after we’ve been vaccinated)!!!my family and I just love Vegas!!!!!!!!
I'm going to Vegas April 26-29th staying at Stratosphere for a day and definitely going on the insanity ride
Loved Las Vegas. Group of friends and I went for a week in April of 2002. New York, New York was still adorned with letters and flowers paying tribute to 9/11 victims. The best vacation I ever had. Living in New Jersey, we always had Atlantic City. Once you've been to Vegas, AC is small potatoes. We stayed at The Luxor and had a great time. From the shows, to gambling, to the drinking (I was 25) we had a blast. We even made it out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a NASCAR race that Sunday. I still have my plane ticket, Race Day ticket stub, my de-activated room key (don't ask) and a Star Trek communicator that I got at The Sheraton when Star Trek: The Experience was still there. Sorry for the long comment.
Just took my first trip to Vegas and your tips were a lifesaver while we were there! Can’t wait to see what you have for my next place to visit whenever that is! Awesome channel!
...i'll keep these in mind, great video!
You never fail with tips for any country or place I've visited!
YES! Don’t forget to bring good walking shoes! Thanks for a great video @Wolters World and @Turn It Up World ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video. I'm from Vegas and you nailed everything.
At some resorts, you can waive the resort fee, but you wont have access to pools and other many many amenities that the resort fee pays for. This includes wifi. You will be paying separately for wifi per person per day, which will make the resort fee worth it.
I wish I seen this video before our first trip in 2008 ! - We are now fairly experienced travelers to vegas from Scotland! but thank you for putting this out there ...still some other things I wish people knew about, for example certain scams in the hotels (main ones like new york new york) where you say your paying by cash, you pay by cash, but then you find out they also charged it to your room...
Great information 👍
loved your ireland videos and used the tips when I go every time
conor mcgregor??
Also if you’re planning on going I highly recommend if you have kids to go to Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix. There’s a bunch of games, go karts for small and big kids, and a few little rides.
This is one of best information video I have ever seen. Thanks 💕
Hi, Frances
These are all BIG FACTS!!!....... I have noticed everything you are saying, since I have been going to Las Vegas... BIG FACTS!!!!
Thank you
A couple of things. I spent 30 years there and a big mistake people make is forgetting that its a fast moving, very active and often times dangerous city. Jay walking can get you killed. Straight up. The drivers are aggressive. Next, yes, there are actually a lot of great things off the strip. I lived in every corner of that city, but research it first, quite a few areas are a bit rough there. Just be smart about your surroundings and your stuff and have a great time.
We have been there twice - 2005 and 2011 - during the Christmas holidays.
It was freezing cold.
Thats the high desert for you. Half mile in elevation, with a wind chill.
If you have a players card or enough comps, you can get some of the resort fees payed for also if you have a late check in, they also take away some of the resort fees..........people who gamble a lot get discounts
Everything mentioned here is accurate great advice. My question, did anyone not know all of this before seeing this video?
Mt Charlston, best thing outside that's close.
Lol, born and raised here 22 years. Just watching to see from a visitor’s perspective
2:45 I agree with not using the casino atms and bringing cash but there are bill breakers that come in handy for getting smaller bills at casinos for free
My brother and I went to Vegas for STLV50 in 2016. We had a blast! Everyone in cosplay was very chill about photos and no one ever asked us for money unless it was an official photo op with a cast member, where you had to buy tickets. However I know that's a very special case. All the other Trekkies (and everyone else) we met were absolutely amazing! 🖖😁 Oh, and your wife reminds me of Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald in Doctor Who, among many other things).
Great and a super helpful video I must say. Thank you much for sharing 👏👍🙂
May I ask what was that Smoky cocktail and where can I get the same in the strip? Planning for a Vegas trip soon.
I believe those are either dry ice or liquid nitrogen cocktails. A lot of the trendier bars serve things like that these days.
Great video
Thank You for posting. Very informative.
Our first time at Circus Circus it took us between 2-3 hours to find my car. Make note of where you parked in the garage. Also, if you are planning a lot of walking, not a bad idea to preplan with your walking gps
Yes the parking at circus circus is probably the worst of all the casinos the walk to get in the actual casino is like a 20 minutes
Oh geez, not the Circus Circus. Even if they don't have the parking fee, I refuse to park there, despite having the Adventuredome
Use you're GPS to mark the cars location, takes you right back to it.
Thanks for the tips 👍 I'm hoping to travel across America soon with my vlog on a food tour so I appreciate the heads up 😊
Vegas has a lot of worth while food blog vlog stops
@@woltersworld that's awesome 👍 thanks for the reply 😊
Thank you
Going in 2 wks to Paris hotel. Thx for info. Will look into the bus and buying booze off strip. Havent been there in 12yrs
I like how people don't know that the 'Resort Fee' is not for the internet or the pool or the gym only really... there is a 2nd function for it.
Guess what OTA, travel agent, and non-direct booking commissions (which sometimes can go to 30% for big players like Expedia) are based on? The room rate and only the room rate. The hotel gets to keep the resort fee commission free.
For example if the Luxor posts the nightly rate as $29 when then resort fee is $35 that makes a big deal for MGM to be paying 30% on $29 per night instead of 30% of $64.
Forever las Vegas always fun and new adventures check out the paradise venue
These are amazing tips, I been to vegas twice now and only seen this video now, I can relate to everything you said especially about the resort fees that companies dont tell you about and also the show girls and super characters, i had loads walk up to me asking about a pic, you hit the nail on the head, thanks for sharing this with us.
Dont be afraid to consult a concierge we are knowledgeable and love to help
Don't worry about bringing a bunch of small bills if you are travelling light/ afraid you might lose them. Every Casino has a bill breaker which is free of charge. Yes, its attached to the atm but the bill breaker part is free.
I stayed at Encore in 2016 for 1 week, they waved the resort fee there didn't pay a penny in resort fees haha.
A few Vegas trips back I learned about ATM fees the wrong way at the Mirage. I want to say it was like $7.
A few days later I figured out that Casino Royale had like $1.50 ATM fees so that was my goto spot the rest of the trip for ATM withdrawals and $1 beers. Lol
Definitely try to avoid ATMs in the casinos if possible.
I do understand those late night ATM runs when you’ve blown through your gambling budget though. Lol. Been there....
Great video and great Collaboration!
We definitely made alot of this mistakes our first time to vegas. I’m canadian so when i used the atm at paris, got charged the atm fee, out of country fee by my bank and then the conversion rate. Pulling out $100 cost me iirc, something like $160 canadian total.
My tip i wanna leave. For anyone that lives on the west side of the US or Canada (i live in edmonton, alberta). Dont fly if you dont gave to. It costs 2-3x more to fly to Vegas from edmonton. 19hrs of driving, $336 canadian for gas there and back, get to see some nice sights along the way.
Right on Mark. I will keep these in mind if I ever get to Vegas.
Thanks Brent!
Gambling don’ts/tips
-As Mark said but to elaborate, don’t have your debit card with you when you visit the casino floor to *reduce temptation.* Budget what you can lose for the night ($50, $500) and stick with it. You may bust early and be tempted to hit the ATM. Not good.
-Don’t forget to consider signing up for a “players card.”
*-Don’t ever ever ever sit at third base if you’re not an excellent Blackjack player.*
can you define what an "excellent BJ player is ? thx
thanks tosh!
Cirque du soleil shows are the best!
Gotta love the The Entertainer music at 4:48 ❤
I'm leaving Vegas today, back to Boston. Stayed here for the week for my 22nd birthday. Love Vegas! There's something here for every type of person!
the only thing I disagree with here is "Don't stay off the Strip." I always stay at Red Rocks and love it.
true, way cheaper, only need to sleep and shower anyway
I an a native Las Vegan. Downtown is considered the Strip and is cheap as hell for a hotel but it's not a guarantee you'll have a great room. I dont recommend staying off Strip like Red Rock or the M unless they offer a free shuttle to the Strip, otherwise a 10 mile Uber/30 minute drive to the Strip is going to not be worth the time and cost of just spending a little more and staying on the Strip.
Who cares if you get a great room, I only need a cheap motel room to sleep and shower. Well usually we have driven to vegas so we dont need a Uber but if you are flying in, might be more helpful to stay closer to the strip.
@@rra7490 a lot of people care about having a great room. There's a reason why the Bellagio and Encore are in business. You're right, if you're there to party until you pass out, you're only sleeping and showering in the room. That being said, there are some nasty ass rooms for cheap out there, and I wouldn't stay there even if I didn't plan on spending much time in it.
@@briang2471 Yes but mostly I was referring to me or people who wouldn’t care about the room, if you are driving in to vegas, the room doesn’t matter too much because you can pay for parking. Other than that everyone else should research hotels.
I like the slots.
Been 3 times in 1.5 years of being 21 solid tips don’t know if u said it but chapstick needed
I take some small bills for tipping, but there's no need to take a lot. Unlike ATMs, bill breakers are free.
Go to the bank and get some $2 bills, decent tip with less bills.
I live in lv he’s right
Resort Fees: understand but since its automatic and a set amount why aren't they just included in nightly rate quotes? Marketing perhaps. Unlike taxes that can fluctuate frequently. Just curious.
Going to make a correction here. Don't bother bringing a lot of small bills Bring enough small bills to tip to get you to your destination. Use the bill breakers in the casino to get your small bills. I heard about this and did it last trip. Drop a $100 bill in and get 5 x $20. Pop a $20 in and get 4 x $5. Drop in a $5 in... you get the idea. Don't worry about bringing $100 in 1's.
True story...on our last trip to Vegas in 2019, we headed out early-early to Red Rock for a drive around....almost no traffic, very quiet, bright morning.....and just outside the park area we saw a professional photographer set up on the side of the road, seemingly shooting pix facing into the park. OK, a little weird but whatever...and then we saw WHO he was taking pictures of...a beautifully dressed young woman was sort of kneeling/squatting on the easement of the road, clutching her denim jacket tightly and just giggling and looking sheepish...we no sooner passed her than she whipped the jacket off...struck a TOPLESS pose...and I assume the photo guy got his shot!!
You just can’t make thus stuff up when it comes to Vegas...gotta love it!
Great video and I really enjoy the collaboration
Thanks Tobi!
@@woltersworld You're welcome, can you please post more post pandemic travel videos, specifically more international travel abroad post pandemic?
Dude! That railway bike thing looks awesome!!
It was a blast. I recently visited las vegas and it was amazingly amazing. Especially the aria sky suites. Also heres a tip try the donut bar
Excellent clip :)
Thank you
I went to Vegas over 5 times, I never saw any crazy things. Even with drinking in the casinos and malls.
If you cant find the crazy in Vegas you are the crazy.
@@ET-jm7wl No.
@@rra7490 the insane man is certain of his sanity
Not really. I saw nothing out od the ordinary either.
Says who? 🤨
You’re making me really want to go to Vegas lol
Walter in my opinion the resort fees need to lower in prices what if I don't want to use the gym or the swimming pool not exactly fair
If you think thats unfair, don't visit Florida. Not only do we charge resort fees, but the state puts some extra taxes on the bill as well. Basically why we don't have a state income tax btw.
Mark, when are you going to Istanbul? I am shocked you've never been
Love your content . But need to invest in some mics. The audio is very hard to set apart from the background noise. Couldn't make out what you wife and friends were saying.
Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the Entertainer by Scott Joplin was the background music from 3:48-6:12 as well as from 8:05-10:25? Was this intentional or was this a cool street performer. It was great background music.
The only Hotels on the strip that don’t have resort fees are Casino Royale and The Aria Hotel.
What restaurants are shown in the video specifically the smoky drinks and dim sum?
Smoky Drinks - Sugar Factory. HIGHLY Recommend.
Expedia makes the resort fee transparent and lets you sort by total price. So that is no longer intransparent and annoying
That is cool of Expedia.
Vegas, like New Orleans gets really scummy a few steps off the main drag. Besides the restaurants, not much to really do in either city.
Do NOT underestimate the Distance....
Be prepared for the distance - wear comfortable shoes and allow more time
Also, personally I would stay on fremont street next time I go. It seems to be more exciting than the new strip.
1:05 The dreaded resort fees. It's a sneaky way to give hotels a bigger cut over the travel brokers.
Be surprised what certain agents can get done for you.
I'd much rather give it to the hotel than some bottom dweller broker.
Where did you get those smokey drinks from in the beginning of the video?
i love sugar
I always tip at all inclusive resorts because they bring full bottles of the good stuff to your room when you do.
Do any of the hotels have balcony rooms?! I’m a smoker, proving difficult to find on my web searches
The signature has balcony but hey do what I did trade smoking for vaping 95% healthier and you could vape in any room. I recommend the koko vape by unwell great because u just wear it and won't lose it. God bless
Definitely need to make the 4 hour drive from CA 🙌🏽
Harrahs lets you know all fees up front, that's why I always stay there.
I have to take cash from home? Aren't there banks with atms like bofA or chase or wells fargo?
A lot of criminals from SoCal put skimmers on those machines, and otherwise, the fees are still ludicrous.
Where did you get those cocktails???
Following
The candy bar. In the previous video about what to do non gambling in Vegas
I went to Vegas for a weekend last year and spent almost the whole weekend in the Casino. Never once did anyone bring me a drink of any sort. I think it's cuz I was making money. Made like $200 that weekend at blackjack tables lol
If you are playing a table game you can ask the dealer/croupier to flag down a waitress.
Winners typically get more drinks, weird?
You hit the nail on the head for one of the biggest "don'ts" of Vegas. It's the adult Disney World...yes it is. Leave the kids at home with the grandparents! Vegas is just not a place for kids!
There's actually a whole lot of stuff for kids!
I mean the greater nevada scenery is more intersting and kid friendly but its up to u
Going Next weekend can’t wait!!!
Where in the world can we get those giant drinks??
I love sugar candy store, bar upstairs on the street the high roller is on
You don't have to bring 1's and 5's from home. Every casino has multiple bill breakers throughout the casino
Another reason why vegas is a special place 😀
The hidden costs of las Vegas is a big tip I would give anyone thinking of going there. The resort fees of hotels is just one part of it. There's so many other hidden costs. One of them is room service. I paid about $50.00 for a plate of gluten free pancakes and bacon for breakfast I got delivered to my room. My hotel also charged me $20 to check in early. Also the restaurant's and buffets are expensive. So your trip this city can be more extensive than you think so you have to budget for more.
Something else I would say about las Vegas is that you have to understand the culture that your going to. It really is city with a debacherous culture, now that's not to slam the city, it is a fun city to visit but if seeing massive drinking, drug use and X-rated images makes you uncomfortable you may want to rethink going there. I feel like this isn't mentioned because las Vegas is such iconic destination and people go there without full understanding.
How much to tip these street performers usually if i only wanna take a picture?
I have a couple of questions about the drinks with smoke coming out of them. Where did you get them? How much are they? They look bloody magnificent!
Every mall and casino has its drink specialties. Don’t know that one but they all have a special spot for amazing drinks.
What’s your favorite restaurant on the strip?
No doubt. The "M". Crazy-diverse buffet of really high-quality food. Lobsters & gelato.
I've gotten resort fees removed... Tons of times
How
How much should we tip for a free drink?
😍
I visit at least 5 times a year and I stay off the strip. I rent a car to get around and do other things besides "The Strip". The strip is boring and OVER PRICED once you've been there 100's of times over the years.
Yep. Vegas off the strip rocks. I love Gordon Biersch's, Silver Sevens, Bahama Breeze has fantastic rum drinks, Ellis Island. I have yet to get to Frank's Tiki Room. The infamous Double Down Saloon (Haven't been. Don't really know if I should go alone), Dino's (on the strip but who cares?), it's all good. Love to shoot the shit with the locals. Cannot wait to get back.
If you decide to venture out into the desert, first off make sure people know where the hell you went. And second, stay on the damn road! Do not decide hey lets go off roading. At the very least you'll probably end up paying damages on the rental car.
If you decide to go hiking, please get an emergency transponder, so if you get into shit you can get out of it again.
And suffice to say, drinking and gambling don't mix. So if you planed to do any decent amount of gambling, you'd be best served to polity decline those free drinks. Or at least wait till you're about done.

@@woltersworld always welcome. Your optimism is powerful. Thanks
You don’t need to bring ones and fives. The ticket redemption machines are also bill breakers.
My last visit to Vegas about twenty years ago, I bought $5 ice cream with $50 bill, and I was told it's $5 bill.
On the strip, I bought $3 apple with $20 bill, and once again, I was told it's $5 bill. I never go there again!

Hi Mr Blonde
You can get money from your debit card at casino cashiers
No where in the U.S. do you see escalators that DON'T work. So WHY do nearly ALL the escalators in Vegas NOT work?
Can international flights fly to Vegas yet, will the UK be allowed to fly there when our Lockdown ends and we can travel again?
Great video, as usual. But Vegas just isn't our kind of city. We just find it to be incredibly tacky and prefer many other areas to visit. But you gave a great synopsis of everything.
But how much do you tip them for the free drinks?
$1 per drink is a good amount!!!
@@tmapes1989 oh okay. Thank you. Without a bill I didn’t know where to begin.
They will piss in the drinks. Remember that.
