Please take this down. You literally gave a lesson in the most inefficient way to produce a crosstab.

thanks for this, it was really helpful simple explanation for someone just learning the basics of stats!

To the people getting mad about how this is done, the video is clearly from a teacher so for a specific subject/setting, and the kids shouldn't know more than that yet. Just what I think

Thank you for explaining it this way. My professor is great with one on one help but most of class we are watching her click around the screen silently while most of us have never used Excel. For someone who hasn't used excel, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED when something happens. 4:02 was perfect, "So what I did there...". I was thinking that exact thing, "What did he type exactly to get the sum? Did he use a parenthesis? " That is exactly how I need to be taught this, my professor needs to get used to explaining each little thing she does. The problem is she can't explain something without explaining it the same way she probably has for decades. So if something needs explanation, she goes into a recited mini lecture ingrained in her head, instead of trying to ensure the transmission and understanding of the information asked about. I will watch more of your videos

sorry that wasn't helpful at all - you manually created the cross-tab - most impractical with a large data-set. I was looking for a way to convert a data-set into a cross-tab not typing in the values as you did.

U can do this much faster with dynamic arrays and countifs function.

But why do so many steps if you could just create a pivot table?

Perhaps renaming it to "Manually Making a Cross Tab in Excel - for Beginners" would be helpful for all. Thanks!

Thank you. Our data analysis textbook is god-awful and is actually detrimental. It asks you about cross-tabulations without telling you how to make one. I made the mistake of reading it my first time taking the class.

WTH! You can't even be bothered to use the sort drop-down to see the available values in each column? ALWAYS use cell references, and have Excel do the counting for you! you should never manually enter the values in the table!
