To be completely fair, 3 of those games weren't even licensed F1 games so you can't really say they are bad 'F1' games. That's not to say that they're not bad games in general.

I know this is an old video but I'm glad 98 made the list. My gosh that was a horrible experience. Trying to get those cars to handle round the corners was one of the hardest challenges I've ever faced.
F1 98 handling model is like a tractor in Grand Prix mode but drifts too much in Arcade Mode.

Wii was unreal, but very fun to play. Also the car set up and engineer felt very real. I would build a set up and engineer gave me feedback that I exagerated on suspension. I went to the pit, fix it and was a sec faster. It felt nice to play and easy to master.

mine were grand prix 3 (release date between 1998-2001, don't know exactly) and grand prix 4 (release date 2002), much better then F1 2009

When I was a kid, in about 2000 my parents gave me a gameboy colour and the only game that came with it was an F1 game. I was about 3 years old and knew absolutely nothing about F1 racing. I used to go into the pits every lap because I thought it was a short cut, and then got very frustrated that i never won a race :'D
You must not forget f1 2009 was codemasters first f1 game.
I loved f1 09 but that's because I grew up with it, I couldn't play now
I still have my PSP (although broken) with F1 2009. Sadly I can't play it because that catastrofuck of a console won't turn on.

Real Racing 3. Sure, its primary focus is on street cars with a few Ferrari F1 cars thrown in, and the driving itself isn't horrible, but the pains and lengths you have to go through to actually get a 1995 car and keep it running for more than 2 consecutive races is heinous.
I agree, if you don't wanna pay the micro-transactions then there is so much grinding in that game; it's ridiculous, even the special events you have to upgrade constantly to actually get anywhere. I actually really enjoy the driving for a mobile game, but if you want to get anywhere you literally have to do so much repetition. And if you have an older phone like an iPhone 4 then you may as well not bother; infact I think it's probably way better on an iPad than a phone where some challenges are just nigh on impossible.

You haven't played F1 2011 for the 3DS then. That's a hidden gem of bad F1 games. You could even use the DRS and kers permanently and since there was no physics, you had no understeer nor penalties for corner cutting. You can literally do a 0.50.000 lap in Spa (It was made by the same studio as F1 2007. Let that sink in)
How do you get 0:50? Also, you can get drive throughs for corner cutting. Or going wide. Or pretty much anything.
In the PS Vita version, you could do a lap of Montréal in 1min 8sec.

F1 2009 is one of my favourites. I did so many races on that game. Epic battles vs. my Dad at Monza. And we had the wheels that the controller fits in to, so for those of us who can't afford Thrustmasters or whatever it was pretty good.

Monaco Grand Prix by Ubi Soft on N64 (1995) . I played this a few months ago for a “refresher” and it might be the most difficult game of all time. Still fun in a horrible way

F1 Race Stars is sub-standard, might not be as bad as the five listed but it's nothing short than a bland, uninspired Mario Kart knockoff.
Well in F1 2020 the AI can crash into with not even a wing damage while you have a broken suspension...

I played f1 2012 and in the totorial one of the rear tires gets punctured on purpose then it tells u to rewind and the rewind doesn't even work or exist!(Unless the disc is scratched but it is always in the case)

Not a bad game imo, just reminded me playing an F1 Game on the N64. Maybe it was 98. But you could you could change tire angle in a way that you had ridiculous traction and easily win everything

I HAD F1 2009 ON THE WII! I don't remember it being that bad. If I was losing I just used to park in the middle of the track and wait. I always liked the menu music too.

It was Grand Prix mode where the flaws came through the cracks though.

F1 Chequered Flag really names X-1 Super Boost, and was developed by Team6 (yep, Flatout 3 it's also their game), and isn't so badly.
for next year codemasters should bring out a career f1 game that spans the last 10 years 2009/2019 to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of them getting the lisence.
To this day I love playing F1 2009 on the Wii and on my PSP. It introduced me to F1

The game at 1:45 game out well before 2015, I remember I bought in a bundle from tesco for like £2 a long time ago. It probably did come out originally in around 2005-ish. Maybe it came out on steam in 2015, but it was out a long long time ago.

Gotta' disagree with F1 98. It was my childhood in a CD-disc. That PS1 loading and that menu, picking Mika Häkkinen and racing against Schumacher.
Let's get fair,f1 chequered flag is not a game with simulation physics in mind,it was made for fun,and it seems like a perfectly good f1 game with arcade style physics

I remember how disappointed I was with F198 back when it came out, having absolutely loved F1 and F1 97, F1 98 was an absolute let down.
F1 Chequered Flag basically looks like an extension of the Burnout games. They had single-seater open-wheel cars that were used to cause absolute carnage and these were driven on the streets. I think this game wanted to take that Burnout-feel and put it in a more professional environment.
Sega genesis had a f1 game....I loved it in how you signed with teams and had pressure on your back to perform else you'd be sacked....if you did well you moved up to better cars and teams...but oh god it was hard to control, very stiff and that ruined it for me....this has to be god..30 years ago now...

I thought one of the best ones for years was Microprose's 1992 release of Formula One Grand Prix. Yeah the graphics are obviously dated but the playability lasted for years. I enjooyed the heck out of it.
Depends on how far your going back. One from the mid 1980s. Grand Prix Driver on the Amstrad CPC is the worst F1 game I have played.
