Teen Calls 911 Because Dad Took Away iPhone

- An Ohio teenager called the cops on her dad after he took away her iPhone. "My father took my property, which is an $800 phone that doesn't belong to him,” the teenager told 911. “He didn't buy it.” Officers with the South Euclid Police Department responded to the scene at the Robertson home and sided with the dad. They told the teen that “having a cellphone under the age of 18 is a ‘privilege’ and not a ‘right’ as she believes.” Police did not pursue the case after that. #InsideEdition
“It’s a privilege that you have a phone period”.

No 16 isn't a baby Sharon... But it IS a minor child by law. And she needs to obey her dad. A phone is A PRIVILEGE not a right. When she's 18 and wants to see what "FREEDOM" looks like and she's back knocking on daddy's door 2 weeks later because she's cold, hungry, dirty, and CAN'T PAY HER PHONE BILL maybe she'll appreciate him more.
I mean there's definitely not something called a loan...

Yeah at 18.... With no credit history? My point is that she is a child.

A minor cannot sign a phone contract without parental consent. So no matter how u look at this he has a right to take it away. Obviously the police agreed with him! I'm now done answering to any more replies. If u wanna state ur opinion make ur own comment. Thanks! Kbyeee...
The fact that this is such an issue shows how far back we have fallen.

Right? That's kinda pretty much a loaded thing. What if.... Her mom bought it. And she pretty much only got it to keep tabs on her? When she's not around the mom? And the dad maybe overcompensates in less time spent, so he's overbearing? Even if the mom knows everything. So it just makes her wanna rebel more ,,,,,,,plus, it's a 800 phone.
