imagine having a bed in the void. who'd be able t sleep there? idc about big void fishies but if there's a slight error in building these things the water pressure may destroy them in your sleep. terrifying way to go
People are always bashing Below Zero for how "it's not as scary" and that the chelicerates are "just giant shrimp" and that "the ghost leviathans are scarier" but to be perfectly honest these guys scare me way harder than the ghost leviathans do. The ghost leviathans are just plain cool (though they definitely ARE a bit... _spooky_ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ), while these guys seem more like they just straight-up have rabies. The void chelicerates in particular give me the impression that they have not a single thought running through their heads, and that that they operate purely on destructive impulse. Ghosts almost have a regal air about them. Edit: Also, the way their beaks clip through everything and are large enough to envelop you in darkness through the wall is my _least_ favorite thing.
Ghosts aren’t even all that terrifying tbh, I used to bash the Chelicerates too but after playing a bit and having a few run-ins with them, I think they’re a bit scarier. I will agree that BZ is not nearly as scary as Subnautica though. Since Shadows are super deep underground and Ice Worms are on land, Chelis are the only active leviathan you’ll find in the ocean, whereas in Subnautica you could find both Ghosts and Reapers to attack you. And the only other hostile creature you ever need to worry about are the squid sharks. Plus, you feel a lot less alone in BZ, with ALAN with you for most of the game and all. Not to say that’s bad, because I prefer it. I wasn’t ever able to go passed the grassy plateaus in Subnautica, meanwhile I already have a ton of progress in BZ. Plus, having an actually substantial amount of land exploration is great, unlike to two fairly small islands we got previously
@@Zzz-dt2dl "only" roughly 3 times the length of the blue whale, largest animal that has ever lived on Earth. But yeah, as far as 4546B goes, there's bigger. Much bigger.

(unlike the adult ghost leviathans which were simply bigger, the void chelicerate doesn't even look like a variation, it looks diseased). I honestly find the creatures on the first game more scary and original(?) (particularly the reaper leviathans), but since basically everything that's not a peeper scares the daylights out of me I realize I'm not the most unbiased individual here 😅
I think this was one of the first times I Truly felt fear of the ocean, just the heavy strokes each emmits as your surroundings are pitch black and cold, with no escape in sight as the orchestra portrays the dire situation is just pure dread
I apologize for being comment #70 and making it no longer 69 nice comments but thank you for sharing this! Awesome base, and I really like the shallow observation deck, as it’s cool to see them in different lighting. I especially loved that shot when you were running along the hallway while one was swimming over you and you could see along its whole belly. It really gives a sense of just how huge these are compared to the young ones. Amazing build, hilarious video description, and this is very well-shot and put together. Thank you again!
Thanks for reminding me of how absolutely horrified I was the first time I accidentally went into the void and got attacked by this beastie. edit: lmaooo "Sometimes I take a quick dip into the void moon pool just to feel something" moment
I feel like The Void might be more terrifying in Below Zero, because at least the Ghost Leviathans are bioluminescent and you can see them coming for you, whereas with Void Chelicerates you do not have that same comfort.
They look like messed up versions of real leviathan. But they look like they are rotting. I cant imagine a ghost leviathan mixed with cherillian. Its probably gonna be way scary. Im sure the below zero leviathans in the void is more scary
My hot take is that I find these things 20x scarier than the ghosts. Unlike the ghost these ones aren’t supposed to be massive, something is wrong with them. The fact that unlike ghosts they’re activly carnivorous instead of territorial is also horrifying
You really notice that you're en the void when the music suddenly stops, the water turns in to an liveless blue color and you start falling in a topless void were the scariest and biggest monsters are nothing compared with the ones you could imagine and fear. You're alone, no plants o other animals to see just you and the Infiniti of the void. A very simple but greatly effective form of a terrorific that almost no one can ignore. Subnautica is a masterpiece
1:05 you know what’s scary to think about it’s not the size of the monster or the sounds of them it’s that they look like they’ve been burned a little bit so much so you can see the under layer of flesh my question is what could have caused it
Maybe something like the acid mushrooms in their childhood days? Or an unknown leviathan that's jellyfish-like and tries to hunt them like giant squids does it with whales
Humans watching these demon fish: exist. The plankton in the sea having to deal with large fish: *finally a worthy opponent our battle will be legendary!*
When I look at the void I don’t see those creatures as the main threat. Just imagine the immense cold in a ocean of pitch black, where supposedly the winter time would be an infinite night like Earth’s Arctic’s.
I’m new to subnautica zero Been on it for 13 hours so far Was an avid Subnautica 1 player and I’ve gotta say, truly… the leviathans have been watered down immensely The ghost leviathan and reaper leviathan had these ultra menacing screeches that left you glued to your screen and shrouded in terror whenever heard The leviathans in subnautica zero are definitely lacking Still terrifying to the untrained ears and eyes but to anyone who’s played both games , it can be assured that the first installment had more terrifying creatures
this seems like a pretty nice place, though it might take some time to get used to the fish demons clipping through the walls, and its gotta be hella expensive
I mean It has about the same amount as the last game doesn’t it? Chelicerates, Shadow Leviathans, Ice Worms, the big jellyfish I forget the name of, that’s 4 Then Subnautica had Reapers, Ghosts, Sea Dragons, Reefbacks, Sea Treaders (are those leviathans? I think so) and then the Sea Emperor, which hardly counts since you don’t see it until end-game/post-game There’s really only a difference of 1, and each game has the same amount of hostile leviathans. Maybe it just feels like less since the Ice Worms are on land?
the fact that their models clip through the walls to the extent that they do is pretty unfortunate and kind of immersion ruining. but still, an unhealthy amount of adrenaline and fear hormone were delivered to my brain as promised
The Void Chelicerate has a certain gracefulness in swimming that reminds me of the Reaper Leviathan from the first game. However, the Reaper’s roar was bone-chilling in comparison.

"You are not yet tired enough to sleep"
*Huh. I wonder why*
It is amazing that you did this, my base is the same size and growing but in the deep twisty bridges area. I'm beyond impressed.
Thanks! Good luck with your base!
Subnautica always has the “always a bigger fish” trope. I fear the day we go into the void and these get a “bigger fish”
Don't make it another eel or fish. Just multiple leviathan-sized appendages that reach out at you from the dark, inky blackness.
Chelicerates are way scarier than ghost leviathans imo, especially the dead zone ones.
Its because they dont glow much
Is because their size or their zombie appearence
Ghosts leviathans are so beautiful
I did not know thay were that big
@@snakespartan4625 like the ghosts, once they grow they need more space so the dead zone/void is the best place to live
I can't tell if the clipping is more or less scary than it would be if it didn't clip
Chelicerate’s have such cool designs, like something you would have found swimming in primordial seas millions of years ago
imagine having a bed in the void. who'd be able t sleep there? idc about big void fishies but if there's a slight error in building these things the water pressure may destroy them in your sleep. terrifying way to go
You'll sleep as soundly as the dead in this luxury hotel.
@@CrankyTemplar great slogan, maybe you’ll get some billionaires to pay you? 😭😂
What really gets me is how much bigger the Void variants are compared to the regular ones.
One power outage on that base and it truly turns into a horror game
They be like: *you got games on your phone?*
Welcome to the abyss hotel enjoy you stay
Me: this is cooI and all but this is just wrong 6:38
The description is great
Ik right lol
Wow! I didn't know old helicerates were that big.
Only 65 meters apparently, basically half the size of a sea dragon…
@@Zzz-dt2dl "only" roughly 3 times the length of the blue whale, largest animal that has ever lived on Earth.

0:59 I love the slight camera jerk, incredibly relatable.
I have never felt more fear than I had when you jumped into that moon pool.
I'm always impressed how the players design the habitats. Like really nice architecture and interior design 👍
Everytime I see the void chelicerate first this on my mind is "That shrimp boi need some milk!" (unlike the adult ghost leviathans which were simply bigger, the void chelicerate doesn't even look like a variation, it looks diseased).
I always found the void Chelicerate scarier than the Ghost Leviathans. Something about the eyes, mouth and the decaying pale skin.
The fact that there's all that glass and not a single bulkhead door to be found gives me the puckers...
I almost got a heart attack as you jumped into the water and heard the screams....
Damn, this game is awesome!
developers: made a dead zone so that players do not float out of the map
Meanwhile players: made an aquarium out of the dead zone...
Honestly to me the blue is almost scarier. The thought that its brightened up yet you still cant see anything is terrifying
God knows what brought the things to such a decayed state. There are things out in the dead zone that are worthy enough to fight these things...
@Daemo Uchiha Reminds me of how juvenile ghosties flee to the dead zone.
@@theostemporium7507 You mean adults, juvenile sticks to Grand Reef, Blood Kelp and Lost River until they're big enough to go to the void
I feel like The Void might be more terrifying in Below Zero, because at least the Ghost Leviathans are bioluminescent and you can see them coming for you, whereas with Void Chelicerates you do not have that same comfort.
Also the void chelicerates have a zombified look, almost like they have raibies
They look like messed up versions of real leviathan. But they look like they are rotting. I cant imagine a ghost leviathan mixed with cherillian. Its probably gonna be way scary. Im sure the below zero leviathans in the void is more scary
And I thought the Ghost Leviathans were huge and scary.
@Not a weeb and yet somehow it’s MORE terrifying.
Probably just a perspective thing, anything looks massive when it’s jaws can fit your whole body in them.
YOUR BASE IS SICK YOU'RE A PRO BUILDER
The low rumbles and swishing of the water is strangely calming, I think I'd get better sleep out in the void
My hot take is that I find these things 20x scarier than the ghosts. Unlike the ghost these ones aren’t supposed to be massive, something is wrong with them. The fact that unlike ghosts they’re activly carnivorous instead of territorial is also horrifying
Mom: go play with the neighbors in the pool
The neighbors:
The "pool":
2:41 hehe he did a little spin
You really notice that you're en the void when the music suddenly stops, the water turns in to an liveless blue color and you start falling in a topless void were the scariest and biggest monsters are nothing compared with the ones you could imagine and fear. You're alone, no plants o other animals to see just you and the Infiniti of the void.
A very simple but greatly effective form of a terrorific that almost no one can ignore. Subnautica is a masterpiece
You jumping into that pool is scarier than most horror movies
this is such a great base. i love your use of decorations
my anxiety when he fell into the moonpool:📈📈📈📈📈
Adding a moonpool to that base was like adding a dinner plate
This hotel does offer fine dining.
I’m not scared of the Chelicerate, but these ghost variants are freaking scary
These leviathans look so much scarier than the ghost leviathans from the first Subnautica
7:10 "No, go away, this is my prey" *smack*
The void chelicerates do not appreciate your moonpool shenanigans.
what a madlad...to build a base at place like this....
when you jumped into that moon-pool i had to set my laptop aside out of fear
1:05 you know what’s scary to think about it’s not the size of the monster or the sounds of them it’s that they look like they’ve been burned a little bit so much so you can see the under layer of flesh my question is what could have caused it
Maybe something like the acid mushrooms in their childhood days? Or an unknown leviathan that's jellyfish-like and tries to hunt them like giant squids does it with whales
Imagine Living there and all you can hear outside is nothing, but then suddenly you hear distant bloodcurdling roar
Without the base, it looks smaller, but with the base as a reference, it looks gigantic!
See its bases like this that make me want Subnautica to have its own Open world multiplayer where u work as a team or go solo to survive.
I swear these videos will actually infect me with thalassophobia
It's almost give me heart attack when he jumped off to the moonpool at first time
He has a bed down there like he can sleep with having that thing watching your every move. Hell nah 😂
I’m new to subnautica zero
Been on it for 13 hours so far
Was an avid Subnautica 1 player and I’ve gotta say, truly… the leviathans have been watered down immensely
The ghost leviathan and reaper leviathan had these ultra menacing screeches that left you glued to your screen and shrouded in terror whenever heard
The leviathans in subnautica zero are definitely lacking
Still terrifying to the untrained ears and eyes but to anyone who’s played both games , it can be assured that the first installment had more terrifying creatures
subnautica void: 😃
subnautica below zero void: 💀
this seems like a pretty nice place, though it might take some time to get used to the fish demons clipping through the walls, and its gotta be hella expensive
Developers need to add more leviathans to this game.
Subnautica was way better then Sub2
I mean
It has about the same amount as the last game doesn’t it?
Chelicerates, Shadow Leviathans, Ice Worms, the big jellyfish I forget the name of, that’s 4
Then Subnautica had Reapers, Ghosts, Sea Dragons, Reefbacks, Sea Treaders (are those leviathans? I think so) and then the Sea Emperor, which hardly counts since you don’t see it until end-game/post-game
There’s really only a difference of 1, and each game has the same amount of hostile leviathans. Maybe it just feels like less since the Ice Worms are on land?
@@KikiCatMeow the squid thing is called a vent garden, and sea treader is a leviathan, but you forgot the glow whale leviathan in bz

Very cool build! Thanks for sharing!
The Void Chelicerate has a certain gracefulness in swimming that reminds me of the Reaper Leviathan from the first game. However, the Reaper’s roar was bone-chilling in comparison.
