My parents got one of these recently. It is an amazing car. They were originally looking for the Rav4 Prime but the ridiculous Toyota dealership markups at the time brought it up to essentially the same price as the NX 450h+. In their use case, they barely use gas at all. What people don't think about is the service experience with Lexus is GALAXIES better than your typical Toyota dealer.
You forgot to mention that in Colorado (where you are filming) there are $12,850 in incentives that end up reducing the price to around the non-plugin hybrid. I taught my son in that very parking lot (in your video) how to drive.
I have a 2022 version of this car and I'm loving it every day. The 350h handles differently and for my usage, I only fill up gas every 3 months. A fully loaded NX350h in Canada vs a NX450h+ fully loaded is not that big of a difference especially when you get $5000 federal rebate. If you live in a province where there is a rebate, it may end up being cheaper than the 350h fully loaded. The only thing is... can you get one.
Exactly! When you price a NX350h to similar specs as the base NX450h+, with the $5K federal rebate the 450h+ is actually cheaper, at least here in Alberta where we have no PST. Ours will be in our garage in 5 weeks - Pearl White with Rioja red interior. Can't wait. The markup on a used 450h+ is still insane! There is just one currently offered in Alberta. Same price as brand new, but with 66,000km and 3 years old. Also, it is black on beige - yuck.
@@suansol3109 that's true. 2025 still qualifies but if you are starting to think now, it could be a bit late. However, with the battery plant coming online, Lexus may opt to move the NX450h+ production to Canada. Which hopefully will reduce the wait times for both the prime and h+.
Nathan, Really appreciate your attention to tech in the reviews you do. Look forward to hearing your input about more apple integration into some car brands while others (GM) are talking about abandoning it completely.
The prime will have a dealer markup putting it within $5k of the NX which will sell at MSRP or below. The was the case for us anyway in NJ. We went looking for a highlander and ended up with an RX350. It was cheaper.
In Canada the NX450H f sport 3 2025 is priced at 80K CAD minus 10K grants. Plus delivery is ranged between 5 months to a year. Provincial grants will slowly disappear. Yes you save gas, but economically speaking you start to c the benefits above 4-5 years of no gasing as frequently. On the other side it’s true that NX350H is 10-15k less expensive than the 450h, but there are no grants, you have to take the premium package. Sincerely, if you’re gonna get a lexus you don’t really settle for tier 1 out of 5 trim. I would take luxury, but then the price would be similar to the nx450h f sport 3 anyway. Nx premium and rav 4 prime have a waiting list of 2-3 years so that’s a turn off. If you take a plug in it all comes to how much distance.
Dear Nathan. I think the pricing-system for new cars in the US give more fair car prices than we have in Norway. Of course we must take responsibility for emissions in the environment, but in Norway the politicans have made it too good buying and driving electric cars, but the big bommer is that they think all commercial working trucks also is covered by electric drivetrains, but this is absolutely not true here by us. And 6 months ago the Toyota Rav4 phev like the Lexus in testing had a cost equivalent with aprox 75.000 USD and will increase significantly in 2025. From 2025 some politicans would ban everything else than evs, and told that all sorts of transport needs were well covered with evs both as passenger cars and commercial cars. Yes thats right as passenger cars, and local van transport, but if you are towing a small trailer a longer distance a phev should be fine, but not here. Thanks Nathan.
Great review as usual, Nathan. The design language of Lexus has improved over the last few years. Considering the usual availability of the Prime, a few luxury minded drivers may buy 450h just for that reason. - Is it worth 10k more than a RAV4 Prime? To some, the Lexus nameplate says it all.
@@naveenthemachine You were not paying attention? The RAV4 is not as nice inside and some people will spend the extra for the comfort and the Lexus logo!
