I criticized the CC9 at first but quickly warmed up to the idea of it. Glad you show it here with the P365 bc that is the most relevant comparison. For me, I’m an HK fan but have never bought a striker fired carry piece. My EDC is a P30sk, so with this coming into my consideration is a bigger jump for me than many people since most ppl already carry striker fired micro 9’s. In the company it keeps with the other similar options, this would be my choice as long as it keeps up with HK’s reputation for reliability.
Same here, I bought one too and mine has stickers on it SPN got that wrong . But in loving this new HK, trigger is nice. Hoping down road we get grip frames that are different/have paddle mag release. That’s for review.
As a lefty as soon as I have the money and can find one I’m gonna pick one up. I’ve been waiting for a lefty friendly micro 9 for awhile, was looking at the s&w csx and kimber mako but I feel this is a much better choice. I have several other HK products and they have always been 100%. I lost one of the cocking wing inserts on my VP9 and they even fixed that under warranty free of charge.
Third buyer here precisely for this reason. Lefty shooter. I've held off on micros because none of the manufacturers have fully embraced us until now. If left-handed shooters are 10% of the population, it stands to reason HK can capture up to an additional 10% of the micro market moving forward. Gun manufacturers need to take this into consideration. It doesn't take that much extra R&D or cost to include a slide release on both sides. The upside is measurable.
I 100% love the look of this HK. I am in NO way a HK fanboy. I don’t own a single HK (I must be a poor….). I want to see one locally to check out the ergos. I love that it’s direct mount milled, no need for plates. Knowing it took HK so long to get it to market makes me feel more comfortable about the firearm. They didn’t rush it or use the general public as their beta test.
I would rather have H&K be late to the party and actually get it right rather than sig did with the 320 and 365 platforms. I own both but carry neither. It seems like H&K may have nailed it with the CC9 but only time will tell. I bought one today and will need to test it thoroughly prior to carrying it.

Great review def interested in seeing tjis gun. Love the 365 line my daily carry currently. Love the optic cut and wondering if trigger is better than 365 line. Def sacrifice trigger for thin profile with Sig. Thanks keep the great content coming
The P365's pistol height is .62" less than the CCP. This means you can easily pocket carry the P365 while it is not practical with the CCP. So these 2 pistols are in totally different categories & are not comparable.
Does the CC9 have its equivalent of the FCU (like the P365)? Is it easy to remove? Like the looks of the SFP9CC along with the paddle mag release and would swap to that if the grip module became available in the US.
It does, I haven't tried to remove it yet but apparently they made it that way for different grips. So hopefully they release a higher capacity magazine as well.
CC9 looks ok but man I wish there was a vp9sk looking thing in the cc9 size. I would have ordered one immediately. Really dont like the way the slide looks. The frame is awesome with the moulded grip and embedded controls. One crazy thing is the cc9 is almost half an inch shorter in length but it has a barrel that is .05 in longer. They engineered the heck out of this thing.
Very few people care about the ability to change backstraps. I never changed them on any of my guns and I don't know anyone that's changed them on theirs. Pretty sure 99% keep the factory installed backstrap on the gun. The P365 is still the smaller gun if size is your primary factor. Where HK wins for me are the ambidextrous controls since I am a lefty. I also think HK has the better trigger. Though they work fine, just not a fan of the Sig mushy trigger.
I can’t tell you how many times I changed the backstrap on my VP9sk. Small frost super comfortable at first but then found it was harder to control recoil. Medium was good but when I added a RMR it was harder to find the dot so I went with the large and it points beautifully and handles recoil well. I went back and forth between them all because they all offered something more. Just because you don’t change them doesn’t mean no one does. Backstraps are a huge advantage for people that don’t have medium hands.
The Sig has grips not just back straps. And yes, you can change grips to reduce or increase mag capacity. Can’t say that HK can be a 10, 12, 15, or 17 round capacity. Any P365, can.
Both are great platforms. Enjoy them both and thank god that companies continue to try to out-do one another. It works in all of our favor. Say what you want about the p365, it was an instant game changer and set the bar very high for future micro 9’s. It is not quite as reliable as a Glock 43 but it’s still very reliable.
Great review, man! I collect guns, so I'll most likely buy one of these. My P365 will always be the king of my EDC rotation. Honestly, if I didn't love guns so much, there is really no logical reason for me to need any carry gun other than my P365. I have two, excellent holsters for it, and a bunch of 12 round magazines. The only way I'd replace it with the CC9, is if I shoot and operate the CC9 noticeably better.
