(7:06) The 'copper color' on the safety plunger is from the heat treatment to make it stronger and more durable. Bluing or oxidizing can be various colors depending on the metal and treatment. Note it's square design. Less play and more consistent trigger bar engagement compared to a round plunger. All signs of a quality part and good trigger. The sights are tritium front and blacked out rear for a reason. Easier focus on the front sight under a high stress CC defensive situation. Like a red dot optic on a rifle (yes I know now on pistols too). See the front sight and fire. The adrenaline is pumping and your eyes are bugging out. It's common to confuse the front and rear sight dots, or simply point shoot. Not even acquire a proper sight picture. I've seen guys miss a target only a few meters away in the daytime! Also the front of slide dust cover that holds the recoil spring looks thick and solid. Where Glocks are very thin sheet metal in that area and can bend or break easily. This will disable the pistol when it breaks and the recoil spring comes loose. The dovetail metal front sight is a stronger design. Glock use cheap plastic sights and the front is retained with a small set screw. Both break off from recoil, even with red Loctite. That's why Glocks have such a thin front slide or hole drilled through under a longer slide dust cover. To access the front sight screw. The full length rails are always welcome. Stronger and tend to be flatter shooting or less snappy. Can even help accuracy. Long beefy extractor, and polygonal rifle barrel. Typical HK over engineering. All that said they're very late to the party. US consumers are spoilt for choice in the CC micro 9 market. But looks like a high quality option. If the QC and reliability is there I can see it being popular long-term.
Friday morning with a Hammer video, perfect start to a Friday. Very nice presentation. Can't go wrong with an H&K. It took them a while to come out with it, but I think it's better late then never and all the bugs are worked out. No beta testing from them.
@@garrettlundy3959 What I like about modular pistols is how easy they are to clean. Pop out the fire control group, spray it out with cleaner/lube, dry it off and put it back. My Sig is in .45 and there is basically nothing available for frame options, so the modularity does me no good at all. If ya get the 9mm, they're like Legos and frames are as cheap as $50.
I’ll be sad to see the PPQ dodgeball grip texture get replaced with the PDP honeycomb😢 But the PPS was the best single stack micro. Can’t wait for their double stack👍
@@garrettlundy3959 I still have both the PPQ M1 and my PPS M1. I love my paddles. I might consider getting this because the ambi button seems like an acceptable compromise.
Just picked one up last week - very happy with it so far. Technically the optics footprint is Holosun K pattern, which is a modified RMSc pattern - it will fit RMSc optics as direct mount, but does not have the rear posts like the Glock slimline slides (which a lot of people dremel off for a direct mount with K dots like the SCS carry and 507K) Great video, thanks for sharing! I'm a fan of the channel
Great observation. Just so I don’t miss anything, if I get the SCS Carry or EPS Carry, I’ll have to dremel off posts on the these optics for a direct mount?
@@mark.espina No you will not. SCS Carry (or any K-pattern optics) will direct mount to the CC9 without any plates or modifications. The dremel comment was in relation to the Glock 43x/48.
@@mark.espina "just the tip" as the kids say - lower 1/5 cowitness with the tops of the irons visible. I plan to swap to optic-height irons that give a lower 1/3rd when they come out.
Im waiting for Shield to release a next gen RMSc optic. It’s insane that we’re going into 2025 and they still expect you to remove the entire reflex sight to change a battery on a $400 product! It’s not like they don’t have options: •Battery drawer •Top mount battery •Magnetic charging cable •USB charging cable The RMSc is the best looking red dot but it’s stuck in 2008
With it being a chassis system there’s a very good chance the paddle release lower will be available soon. As well as either HK or someone else making a 17 round mag and grip for it.
I like that the grip is wider from the front to the changeable back strap like the M&P Shields. I feel that area is not wide enough on the Sig p365 micro. Being in Commiefornia I may only be able to buy this on the secondary market or have to wait for Sig to make the slide with an LCI and the frame with a mag disconnect which I do not want.
I’m a big H&K fan, but I’m already very happy with my Sig P365X, and see no reason to switch to this one. H&K just missed the boat on their micro-9. Too little and way too late.
The people that hate on this gun (or any other) without ever handling or shooting it are foolish. Let’s be honest, many are upset that the gun is made in America rather than Germany
The issues people are bringing up are legit IMO. They're asking HK prices and it doesn't have the features that people want when spending HK money. People keep saying that it doesn't need to look good because that's not the purpose, but the reason people are bringing that up is because if it doesn't look good, then HK has no right to be asking what they're asking for it. The aesthetics were a big reason people spent HK money so why would they spend the money when the aesthetics are no longer there? HK wants to have their cake and eat it too. No. Either make it cheaper or make it look better. Same with it being striker fired. Why would they do that? Same thing with the button mag release.
But it looks like a Taurus which means it's the same quality as one right? In all seriousness, my biggest issue is the lack of a paddle mag release which is a just a preference. It seems great overall
How are people finding these? My local gun stores can’t keep them in stock for more than a day and they are out of stock in every online store. Maybe I’ve just never been after a hyped gun before so I don’t get how this works lol
I like HK and have a few in my collection but my optics ready Shield Plus has been the best micro I’ve tried and I don’t see myself changing for this, maybe down the road, but not anytime soon.
The G3c would go toe to toe with it. I know, it's crazy, but. It would. And, if the G3c went down, you would have 2 more G3c's to go to for the price of 1 of these HK's. Actually you could arm your whole house with 3 G3c's for the price of just 1 of these HK's. And no, you will never shoot enough rounds through a G3c to break it. I understand HK is the better quality gun, but the G3c will shoot all day right beside the HK. The Taurus give you 3 12 round magazines to boot! Ive owned a few G3c's and all have been reliable through hundreds if not, a couple thousand rounds. I have also owned higher end guns too. I'm not saying the g3c is on par as far as finish or fitment, but when it comes time to go bang, the G3c's just work. But, I get it, and if you have money to burn and just want to stare at that HK on the side of your gun then by all means.
Hundreds of rounds is literally an average range day. That's absolutely nothing. I would assume 3 hi-points would outlast the 3 Taurus’, so they're the better option, right? In fact, you could make that argument against any handgun, not just this one. You pay substantially more for quality and dependability, if you'd rather have three Taurus G2C’s, get them. Go crazy.
@PistolPeterson859 I would think that most people aren't going to, or even want to attempt thousands and thousands of rounds through a micro 9. Pretty sure the CC9 and G3c's are designed to be small and concealable, not all day range toys. I do know most manufacturers make different handguns for different purposes. I'm yet to meet anyone that just lays down thousands of rounds through their tiny carry gun. I'm making the point that you can get a lot of handguns that work well for the price of just one of these, and they will literally be doing the exact same thing. A few rounds here and there at the range, maybe even a couple hundred from tike to time, then carried. If you have the money to burn, then spend it on the HK and be proud. But just don't get it in your head and think it can out do other tiny guns because you paid more for it, or because it says HK on the side of the slide. I've been at the range and seen all types of brands have issues. They are handguns, and they are all prone to have stoppages.
@ a thousand rounds is literally nothing for the gun you’re depending on to save your life. Don't shoot the gun that's fun to shoot, practice with the gun you're most likely to use in a life-or-death scenario. Obviously, value isn't directly linear. You will start to get diminishing returns as price increases, but you pay for premium. It’s like that with homes, cars, etc.
@PistolPeterson859 I agree with what you are saying accept the thousands of rounds through your tiny carry gun. Remember, a fact that cannot be ignored or argued is, the more rounds fired through any gun equals more wear and tear on parts, and is actually bringing that particular firearm closer and closer to a failure/breakage. 500 rounds through a tiny carry gun reliably is probably going to work when needed. The same tiny gun with a couple thousand rounds through it would be closer to having a major failure soon.
500 rounds is just breaking a gun in. That's practically brand new. 2,000 rounds is barely broken in. Train and become proficient with what you carry, not what is easy or fun to shoot. Replace parts when they reach their recommended lifespan. That's my opinion - we can respectfully disagree.
What a disappointment- we all wanted the SFP9CC and got this thing! No paddles, made in the US rather than Obendorf, and created for a civilian market rather than for military/law enforcement and then sold to civilians. HK is apparently going the SIG route. So sad.

HK customer service informed me that they will offer a rear night sight with tritium inserts in the future.
