  • This was a three mile morning hike to Roan High Know Shelter the highest shelter in the AT at over 6,000 feet elevation. This spooky foggy rainy morning hike among tall pines brings the history of this 1933 shelter. Further up the trail is the historical plaque and chimney of the 1800’s Cloudland Hotel. So worth the morning hike to learn and see this wonderful place. Comes highly recommended. It’s foggy 75% of the time.
