Beautiful stretch of trail - and a sock slug - cool. The river crossings are a little sketchy, but you both made them O.K. You have said, on more than one occasion, 'It is what it is.' Many years ago there was an Adirondack hermit named Noah John Rondeau. I think he was the first to utter that little phrase, back in 1943 - tried some research, but can find no earlier references to, 'It is what it is.' Be well, stay safe.

Keep up the good work! Looks like challenging terrain. I find Altras to have more slippery soles on rocks etc. than other brands. There was a time when I was climbing up the backside of Hunger Mountain in Vermont where there was a wet rock slab and I had to take my Altras off and do it barefoot for fear of face planting. I haven't been impressed with the "stickiness" of their rubber.

@@TheJhtlag The diet she is eating is not a healthy vegetarian diet. She kept complaining about not being able to fly through the miles anymore. I have to believe this is a large reason why. Hiker diets are usually crap to begin with and this far in, even town days aren't going to make up the difference of what her body is lacking. But minimal to no protein is just a recipe for disaster.
