and I’ll send you a post card from the trail!
Massive thank you to those already supporting me on the AT regardless of how- financially, following along, sharing, and commenting! 💗
10% of YT earnings this year will go back to trail orgs like the ATC, PCTC, and the CDTC 🌲🏔️✨ Thank you for your support and encouragement! Let’s get outside and into the mountains together 💞
I’m glad you’re hiking with leffee he seems like a very nice person
The both of you are gonna have to turn around and go all the way back now cos I am officially addicted to your updates . I don’t want the end to be in a few days time. I’m gonna miss you guys 😢
I agree with you 100% I'm going to miss them so much
Stella, it’s been a pleasure watching you these pass 130 days … what a remarkable young strong lady.
You are amazing, congrats to both of you for wrapping up this very long journey
Loved the way you’ve moved in with Leffee lol. What a lovely guy he is. Hope you keep in touch with each other , you’re an awesome duo! X
You are my hero, Stella - persistent, patient, positive, smart, strong. Walk on.
I love your friendship with Leffe. It’s very special. You guys are doing great. Those mosquitoes seem relentless. I’m estimating that my daughter and I will reach Maine in September (2024). I hope the bugs are less fierce.
It doesn't seem real to think you two only have left is over 30 miles away from being done. I'm glad that Lefty has let you share his tent he's a true Gentleman. Stay safe and stay cool from all the bugs 🙂🙂🙂
What happened to her tent? I must've missed it
She sent it back and got a tarp which isn’t super helpful when the bugs are bad.
I swear to God as I’m sitting on my recliner watching this, I could feel mosquitoes on my arms!!!
Two more mornings of AT thru hike videos. Wow. Congratulations, and thanks for bringing us along. It couldn't have been easy hiking and posting daily videos, especially on those tough sections.
You are a tough one. I'm amazed at all the obstacles one must overcome to reach your destination. Great to have a partner to assist each other along the way. Victory in sight.
Gonna miss that intro music . Thanks for bringing us along what a beautiful trail.
It will be emotional to watch you and Leffe summit in a couple days. I know you have already done so, but on youtube we are in a delightful time warp where we get to watch it all unfold. Of all the challenges your have encountered, the bugs are right up there. I will miss watching your videos. You have done a great job capturing your journey and bringing us along.
Love the booty crossing and you dropping the S bomb AGAIN … making it real !!!
Stella, I met you on trail just outside of Grace and Highlands back in March after the ice storm (buddy and I were SOBO'ing). That just seems eons ago! It's hard to believe you've been out on trail all this time. You are a true hiking rock star!!! 🤩
Geez the mosquitoes are horrible. Glad you have each other to support each other. The trail is rough. First glimpse of Katahdin, how cool is that. Well done.
Wow, the bugs are just unbelievable! I loved listening to you laugh at the end you guys are doing great and I love to see that you have somebody to enjoy this journey with.
I am so excited for you both!!! You have been through so much with the weather and bugs!!! I am praying that you had sunshine and blue skies for the summit 🙏🙏🙏 I know you’re both finished now, I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed watching your vlogs and following your trek💗💗 If you ever come to the Myrtle Beach South Carolina area, it would be so incredibly awesome to host you at my home so you can enjoy our beautiful beach here🥰🥰💗💗
That sucks with those insane bugs. I know the scenery is so beautiful and you can not stop and enjoy. So happy you have partners on this trail to keep up the motivation. You are awesome 👏
Maine has it's seasons and this years bug season is very bad. I would recommend a return hike in in your future- 3rd or 4th week in September. Tony
Yeah this is the truth
You make me smile every day! Thanks for your positive attitude!
You guys are doing amazing. The relentless bugs can drive you insane. Maybe you can talk the mosquitoes into doing something useful by giving you a lift to Katahdin. 😂 You're so close! Rest well Nyx and Leffe ✌️
Leffe was blushing 😊 in that tent 😂❤
We live near the trail in Monson, the bugs here are only deterred by DEET. Get Ben's Repellent, put it on your hat, hands ankles. But above all, don't talk about bugs over and over, we live with them Also B complex vitamins, thiamine, help repel bugs.
I know you're already done so congratulations Stella, what an amazing achievement! I'm surprised you weren't more choked up seeing Katahdin. I paused the episode and took a moment to stare at it. Surreal. Hope you've had your fill of pizza and PBR's now that your done.
The mosquitoes love the chocolate you've been eating, the 🥞 pancakes and syrup 🐜 and they are so glad that you visited. Good thing they couldn't feast, thankfully. The net was a good barrier. You are doing so well. Keep up the good work.
This is very exciting 😂 thanks for keeping it real. 💯 😊
I am so going to miss your videos!
You did a great job of taking "us " along.
Again, thanks for sharing. Wishing you more great adventures!😊
That giggle…could it be love? ❤
Trail romances do happen
@@stevendavis6556 of course it happens
still waiting on Kelly and James
❤
Looks like your having a blast, nice to have someone to laugh about the tough times with.
Those Maine black flys will carry you off, you and Leffe are there!
Back in the 90's when I was hiking up there I came across a postcard that depicted a giant mosquito holding a knife and fork with the words declaring the mosquito as Maines state bird. I can vouch for that....
Yes, the Hundred-Mile Wilderness is nothing to trifle with, but you have prevailed, relatively unscathed. On to Katahdin - Bravo! Be well, stay safe.
12:27 this might be where I guy my first leach. So cool to see these spots again.
We would actually start small fires when we would stop with pine straw. It was so damp that it smokes really well and melts the bugs away for at least a small break.
Wow! It has been an experience following along as you experience the AT. I can hear the mosquitos through my headset and it's got me swatting imaginary bugs! Don't know how you did it! Already looking forward to your next hiking experience! Thank you!!
Watching you butt slide on the tree over the river was awesome. But what was funny was that when leffee was in the river for the last couple steps, the water was just over his ankles. When you got in the river, it looked like the river was up to your knees. 😄 Hope you doing well and are home resting those legs.
How many of us expect to see tears of happiness or simply relief once Katahdin has been reached? Of course there will be elation. However, I wonder if it will be from leaving behind the 100 mile BUG infested wilderness or the completion of the journey.
Many years ago when I obtained my first and only rain gear, it was made of Gor-Tex. It was waterproof and breathable. None of that clammy feeling. Is that still a thing for outdoor gear. I mention this because of Stella's comment about being assaulted through her pants.
What kind of mutant is Leffe to expose himself to the invading swarms of mosquitoes by wearing shorts. NO WAY would I be doing so. I would even be wearing gloves.

Stella, I started to watch your videos recently and I really enjoy. Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Have a great day!
Years ago I was on the at in New Hampshire I stopped at a shelter by a lake where you rock hop to get to the shelter. I took a photo of the shelter. If you looked at the photo you would say it's snowing it wasn't snowing it with bugs flying around
I camped in BSP in mid June many times at South Branch Pond. We would try to get the leantos fronting the lake as the wind would blow towards us as it was funneled through Pogy Notch. It kept the bugs away mostly, plus a good fire at night. Always had a head net as a last resort.
Ahh you guys are getting so close! I love the friendship you two have built over the last bit of the trail. I’m excited to see you summit, but I’m kinda sad the journey will be over lol…I’ve enjoyed following along!
So excited for you both! You both are awesome!
Wow.Thanks again for sharing.I have really enjoyed this and good luck. Enjoy!!
Wow! You can see it, now go conquer it!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so proud of you Stella! It has been such a joy to watch you go through all your trials and tribulations. I’m so glad that you met Leffe. I hope I spelled that correctly. I hope someday that I See u together On another trail we’re just doing fun things after you have made it to Katahdin
When I was visiting Maine in the 1960s, I was told that their giant mosquitoes were the state bird. Good Luck, Rick
So much rain and water up there lately
Wow, you both are awesome!!! I don't know how you do it!! Power on to Katadyn! I'll certainly miss your videos!
Thanks Stella! Just seems like yesterday since your Florida video and when you started. Sad it’s ending.
I love Stella's laugh👣🌻
5:30 that was my first time seeing Katahdin. It’s just like I remember her. What a memory.
It's been amazing Sarah ❤ I'm sure you still find it difficult to believe
Note to self - must research the least buggy time of year to hike this section! I feel for you.
So it’s not like that all summer? I’ve never been in that area of the US before.
Let us know when you find out please! 😅
In September last year there were no bugs.
I know its hard to believe your almost to Mt. Katadin. I have enjoyed watching your journey. Glad it was a safe one. Safe travels.
The ending was so funny and cute!
You are so incredible and inspiring! Can't wait to see you finish ❤
That was a gnarly log to boot scoot across.
With God as my witness I will find that log and saw off those dastardly knobs!!!!
I pray my March 2024 start will bring me to where you are now. Prayers to the both of you.
I thought you were going to fall asleep and Leffe was going to have to finish the video. All things considered; the sun came out some. Sleep well you two!
Yea you guys are ready to fall asleep, then she laughs and laughs and laughs then laughs some more, I feel some hanky panky is fixing to commence up in here!
Stella, those damn bugs!!! It;s like the PCT going through Oregon.
So nice there at camp. Lucky break.
I enjoy watching you and Lefty. I think you should do another hike together. 🤷🏼♀️. 😊
Woo-hoo! You guys are almost there! It was great to see Katadin again. I hiked it back in the 70s. Skeeters are annoying for sure.
Just the thought of those bugs is making me itch 😒…every time I forget about them, you mention them again! 😳
Damn those bugs eh, that's what I'm dreading on my West Highland Way hike in September!😨 Getting your first proper views of Katahdin must've felt pretty awesome tho. Not far now....🇬🇧💙👊
Almost done! It has been a pleasure and I hope you take what you've learned on this epic journey and use it in your life. Believe it or not the bugs only get worse in July and August. There are no words for it other than maddening and horrific. Cold nights and strong winds become much more of a blessed thing.
It's clear the bugs are the biggest source of misery. It's enough to keep me from hiking there.😮
Yeah, I'm not sure I'm in any danger of through-hiking the AT, but for some reason I carry the discussion in my head, I watch this and am thinking not a chance. I could see day-hiking maybe in September.
👍 I'm a Mainah, and yes, spring and fall hikes are the best bet.
The Athabascan Indians would build a big fire then run around in the surrounding forest to attract all the mosquitos then return, jump through the fire to fry all of them. OK, that's probably not very helpful, but thought I'd bring it up.
We have been watching you since day one and have thoroughly enjoyed joining you on this journey. We have seen the highs and lows and the views and those bugs attacking you but you did it, you made it each and everystep of the way with such grace and positivity. I know your videos are delayed but we can't wait to watch you summit and will be watching with tears in our eyes. Thank you for taking us with you on this adventure.
Much Love
The Simmons Family
First from Florida!!!😎
@3:42 (Says in a flat tone, dead inside voice) "Privy's are our home" 🤣🪰🚽
Wow! You & Leffie are crushing it!
I will really miss your journey (and that jazzy music) with my coffee.
I will probably be watching you & Leffie conquer Katahdin with tears streaming down my face!
What an accomplishment!
A friend from NH was once asked by his Florida friend if there were bugs in New England. Nope, notta one. 😂
After all of the climbing, cold, rain, heat, it's crazy that the bugs can be such a significant issue 😔 🐝🐞🪲🦟
Just think about SOBOers who start with the bugs…
@@fannypack96 just thinking about that ,wondering if there's less bugs when they start in the colder weather? 🤔
@@roberttrinies7698 @StellaHikes did start in Feb in colder weather ; SOBOers cannot start in Baxter State Park until the park is open to climb Mt Katahdin . If hikers do start earlier, before snow clears on Big K , then these hikers would have to get a special permit to hike Mt Katahdin .
@@fannypack96 thanks for the info, now I understand how the SoBo hiking works. 👍
@@roberttrinies7698 SOBOers r overwhelmed by all the challenges of Maine & NH…. By the time they get to Vermont they probably have done a little less than 20% of the miles but used 50% of the energy/work of the hike of the entire AT…. Someone could probably put these percentages in a better perspective than me but u get the point. Have a great day…
Never hike in late May/Maine in June. It’s bug season. 😊
Vacuum the mosquitoes. Lol. That would be awesome. Keep trekking. 😊
The mosquitoes scare me the most about doing a through hike. I'd go nuts getting eaten alive everytime you stop for a drink
Good morning from Lexington ky
Almost there 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m hoping you can try to get the mosquitos out of your mind so you can enjoy these last few days on the AT
Never take mosquitos lightly, people die every year from West Nile,Zika,Dengue fever.and Malaria to name a few.Looks like you did a pretty good job,of
protecting yourselves.
I know it would be heavy, but a can of Deep Woods Off would rid you of the mosquitoes. Spray from head to foot after you have all your outerwear on. Maybe somehow tie it to the outside of your backpack. Might be worth the effort. You're doing great! Almost there!!!!
That is way too toxic! A more natural method which works is essential oil of citronella
Very cool🌲👋
Don't forget the Aerogard!
Did you meet your hiking partners on the trail or did you already know them?
Maine looks tough
🦋
Brave girl! Watch air quality from those fires..
Jo Mary road.
Placing a dryer sheet under your hat will get rid of the gnats.
If that is true, one wonders how such a ploy came about in the first and all of the previous failed experiments.
Boot scoot was a daring feat
So scary and Last resort
Like .... insect mask essential
❤
Makes you realize how it must have been a few hundred years ago… bugs bugs bugs! Crazy.
You guys are adorable and inspirational!!
Mama K!
Are you using insect repellent or are they just too relentless to be stopped by anything?
So close 😊
What day did you end up summitting?
👍
Seen Tally yet?
