  • This was an amazing camp. Me and Caitlin headed down to the Lake District to take part in a charity camp. The aim was to have a tent pitched on every wainwright, that’s all 214. We headed towards our summit - High Spy for a night of good fun, good drink and a test of a new tent, the MSR Elixr 2.
During the trip, we were visited by a special guest - Andrew Foster and his Dog Billy aka Rockstar.

I took the decision mid week to play safe with a lower summit, glad I did. You could see on our footage your spot in the clag. Tried giving you a flash and a wave too 😂

Was impressed with that. A touch heavy for today’s standards but it feels like a proper built tent.
Apparently the event raised its target too so that’s all the more bonus

    Hiya mate, really enjoyed that.
The tents a lot like the hubba hubba, which was my first tent, I only stopped using it as the pitch inner first can be a bit of a pain when on your own, I think I had that in over 30mph winds and it held it own
Nice one for the mention but more importantly getting involved in the camp, I think we managed 60/ 214, gives us a good target to beat for next year
    Catch you you soon

Yeah it’s basically the cheaper version of a hubba I think. Think we got about 20mph on that one and it seemed solid enough.
Loved it mate. Cracking event to do. Very glad to have been involved. Will definitely be doing the next one

Its crazy! I had camps last summer where I sat in shorts and T shirts before I get zipped in. We’ve pretty much skipped summer this year. I was aiming for the 2 man hubba but I seen this on a cracking deal when I was in so had to grab it. Feels pretty solid so far. Cheers for watching Dave, ATVB 👋😊

I also took part in this event. It was such a shame that the weather dampened the plans a bit, but it was still a great thing to be a part of. Really cold for June though.
We actually managed to see a few lights at 11 which we didn't expect. We were up on Arnison Crag with Alan (54 Degrees North). I don't think we would have been able to see you from where we were as it's only 432 meters.
Really good video. Great presentation. Just subbed

@@boyzinthewood1 oh yeah, I’ve watched Alan’s video already. You guys were just abit too far out of sight for us. It’s how this years gone I feel. Very rare have I had a camp when the winds are low or the clouds have stayed away for the whole camp. Such a shame as it was a fantastic event. Cheers for the sub, I’ll give yours a wee look after work

Thanks for sharing another great video! Looked like an awesome event. The clothing made it look like a winter camp though, the weather has been mad this summer.

Cheers 👋. Its been a weird summer. Even on the Warner days the temperatures still drop massively. To be fair, I could have got away with thermals but I love my down gear. Was a class night mind you

Nice one MRT are the super hero's of the hills 👍. I've been considering selling a couple of tents and getting something similar. After spending a good few camps in the Allak it's definitely the style of tent i prefer. Great having the two doors as it doesn't limited your views as something like a tunnel tent. Durston are bringing the X dome out soon so will see how that looks when released 🤔. Think I'll need to up my drinking game if coming out a camp with you 🍷🧉🍸🍹🍺😂

Aye think it was a great cause to be apart of. The Allak is some tent like. Get the envy when I see that. My first proper wild camping tent was a Vango tunnel tent and that’s exactly what I felt. I had to choose, sunset or sunrise. Ohh that’ll be interesting to see how it looks. Been fancying a Durston for a while too. Don’t worry, that was a special occasion. I don’t intend on carrying that amount again anytime soon 😂

It’s a decent tent. Bit on the heavy side but we both gave it a thumbs up.handled some decent winds too
