Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking for your blessings as a single mom. I’m raising my children with strength and courage, despite the challenges I face with my sons being autistic. Lord as I struggle to pay my rent every month and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. I was in the same position as a single mom years ago. I know how hard it is and I was foolish in those days and brought some trouble into my life that I should have never done as a believer, yet, Jesus was there for me all the way and lifted me out of my self imposed misery and gave me everything! He is so worth following and trusting! Keep your eyes on Jesus, He does not disappoint! I will keep you and your boys in my prayers. God bless you with health and provision!
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

We do not have a soul, we _are_ a living soul, and there's no immortal 'soul' either (see Genesis 2:7 and Ezekiel 18:4, 20 KJV).
Not trying to burst your bubble, just trying to show you the truth of the scriptures. Too many false teachers out there.
Someone help me with scripture: when Paul talks about people becoming enemies of the cross, can these people be redeemed? How about the people who consciousness is severed yell have to find the right scripture. I feel like I had the Holy spirit and now it's gone, can Jesus come back into my life?? Or have my sins weighed me so far down I can't be forgiven? Thanks.

If you think your sins are so bad that you can never be forgiven, what you are in effect saying is that what Jesus did for you wasn't good enough. Now we know that isn't true because all sin (except blasphemy of the holy spirit) can be forgiven. What is required is sincere repentance, a complete turning away from sins, exercising faith in the ransom sacrifice, and asking God for forgiveness based on that sacrifice. Two things you can consider from scripture:
The first is the illustration of the prodigal son. He deliberately chose to leave, demanded his inheritance, and then went and squandered it all on a debauched life. Eventually he realised his error and went back with his tail between his legs. Was he run off the land? No, his father rejoiced and welcomed him back with full forgiveness and celebrated his return. A lost sheep returned to the fold and the father rejoiced. Almighty God reacts in the same way to those who return to him. Look at the scripture in Luke chapter 15:
_Now all the tax collectors and the sinners kept gathering around him to hear him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes kept muttering: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Then he told them this illustration, saying: “What man among you with 100 sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the 99 behind in the wilderness and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he has found it, he puts it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he gets home, he calls his friends and his neighbours together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’_ (Luke 15:1-6)
Now focus on the following verse which reads:
*I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous ones who have no need of repentance* (Luke 15:7)
It's never too late until it is too late, ie when Christ returns.
The second thing you should do is go to the Hebrew scriptures and read up on what disgusting things King Manasseh was responsible for. His bloodguilt was huge, even making his own children pass through the fire, yet he truly repented, turned away from all the horrendous things he'd been doing - things far worse than any of us would do - and begged God for forgiveness. God heard him, saw the change in him, and granted him the forgiveness he sought.
Don't ever think you're beyond salvation. God's mercy is far greater than you could ever imagine if you are sincere with your repentance.

The first resurrection (see Revelation 20:4-6) has already begun for the much smaller group of spirit-anointed Christians (see Luke 12:32), but the second resurrection for the other sheep (John 10:16) does not begin until after God destroys the nations at Armageddon.
Please do not quote pre-Pentecost Scripture in the context of events and doctrines concerning the post-Pentecost era, our era. To be 'absent from the body is to be present with The Lord' is our destiny.

No, it is the destiny of those spirit-anointed Christians who are called directly by God, not those who climb on a stage, churn out a prayer, call themselves Christ's brothers, and then think they are unable to lose their salvation. Christians don't claim that place, it is a privilege given to them by God himself, and very few receive that privilege. Read Revelation chapter 7 and you'll see two distinct classes: the first referred to by Jesus in Luke 12:32 as the _"little flock";_ the second referred to by Jesus in John 10:16 as _"other sheep"._ There is a big difference between the two classes and it would be an advantage for you to know what that difference is and what it means for both classes.

You are correct. Man is a living soul, he doesn't have a soul, and certainly not an immortal soul. The immortal-soul doctrine is crushed by Ezekiel 18:4, 20 KJV, along with many other translations. The New KJV has changed the word from 'soul' to 'being' in places but in the Hebrew it's the same word. The believers in the immortal-soul doctrine interchange the word to suit their man-made doctrines. So many of these false doctrines are exposed by going back to the original languages.

Wait a minute. Saul could not have been saved without Stephen’s prayer?? Wasn’t Saul saved because of Jesus sacrifice and because he came to believe in Jesus??
Paul was one on chief murderers. He gave permission to stone Stephen. Stephen forgive Saul and the rest of stoners. I am sure his forgiveness works together with God's plan and His will. Just like our free will (and others who pray for us) works with God's plan to save us before the foundation of the world.
We are all saved through Jesus death and sacrifice. I don't believe pastor is staying Stephen's prayer replace Jesus' sacrifice and shading of blood but God moves through our prayers.

You are correct. Stephen's comment has no bearing on Saul's salvation. All it does is show that Stephen had a forgiving spirit.

I believe that if Stephen hadn't prayed, Paul may still have been saved. The Lord Jesus died for all of us.

The False Doctrine of Soul Sleep is being promoted by several people in the comments section. Seventh-Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses believe in Soul Sleep. The Soul is not a part of the Body. The Soul is a part of the Spirit.

When Christ went to Hades to ask who would want their sins forgiven, and if everyone answered, does that mean Hades was empty when Christ departed with the souls that were once there? And now that people on Earth are given a choice, is Hades filling up again with souls that chose to reject God and Christ?

He didn’t go anywhere. He was dead in the tomb. Through death he conquered death. If he was not dead he could not conquer it.
He only took the ones to heaven which believed...like abraham and so on...the rest unfortunately are still on hades and wairong for the final. Judgement...Hades had 2 different compartmens. Like in the story of the Lazarus and the rich man...nobody who died in their sins has the chance to be forgiven after death.

Indeed we see that Soul sleep is not possible. If Christ whilst He was dead preached to the spirits in captivity, to whom did he preach and who was in such captivity of sin and death? Those spirits were certainly humans and they were in captivity of sin and death and they did hear His preaching.

Our soul is then dead. We were created as living souls, thus when we die our living soul has henceforth become dead. It’s a very simple concept. Then comes the glorious resurrection.

Each person receives their eternal retribution in their immortal soul at the very moment of death in a particular judgement that refers their life to Christ. Either entrance into heaven, through a purification, or immediately, or immediate and ever lasting damnation.

Considering when Jesus comes in Glory, the dead in Christ will rise first, then the sea and the earth shall give up their dead and the living saved shall meet in the sky.

The body goes into the ground from where it came (Gen 3:19, Ecc 3:20; 12:7) and the spirit returns to God (Ecc 12:7; Act 7:59; Luke 23:46). The soul of Jesus when into Hades (Sheol) (Acts 2:27, 31; Psa 16:10) until the time of Him being resurrected, when He got His body and spent 40 days on the earth. The Father would not allow the body of Jesus to see corruption (same verses as above). Jesus also says that no one has ascended into heaven (John 3:13). Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with Me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). Eph 4:9 (Now this, “He ascended”-what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth." I am not making any conclusions. Just saying. Any thoughts based on scripture?

Luke 16 i know, but John 11 is the real prove - Lazarus was NOT in Heaven and no one from his siblings said that... one of his sisters said that he will be resurrected in the last day...
If you think that now Mary and all believers are in Heaven you are far from the Sound doctrine of God JESUS CHRIST and while you pray to Mary or angels you are praying to idols like Ishtar...

@@terryhaley9680 The rich man and Lazarus (not the Lazarus Jesus resurrected) is an illustration, a parable. Indeed, Jesus only spoke using illustrations (see Matthew 13:34, 35). In Luke chapter 16 the illustration is about the rich man and Lazarus; its details are well known but Jesus was trying to make a point to the Pharisees by using this illustration but you should really focus on the meaning of the verses 29-31. In the story Jesus highlighted how the rich oppressed the poor but at the end of life and in the resurrection it will be the poor and humble who will benefit. The rich man wanted someone sent to warn others but Jesus said if they wouldn't listen to Moses and the Prophets, they wouldn't be persuaded by someone raised from the dead. He was, of course, referring to how the Pharisees reacted to him and that they would be just the same after he was raised up from the dead.
